The Donated Quilt of Valor

Hi friends!
This is the top donated for "Quilt's Of Valor". It's 751/2 by 80 and the rules say must be at least 60 by 80 so It works.
After washing the top the next to the bottom red is corduroy and it bleed a little. The rest is ok , just that one strip all the way around the quilt bleed just a little.
I have been washing it with color catchers. Maybe one more washing will get the rest.
That one right there!
Going to trim some of the threads under neath and hope it stays together for one more wash.
We had a storm late afternoon yesterday, wind blew hard , so glad we got that hugh tree in front of the house took down.
Last year on father's Day we though it was going to fall on the house.
There are still houses that a tree fell on last year that is still not rebuild.
May have not had insurance on them!
Who knows , maybe the insurance refused to fix them when it's weather .
Have a great weekend

Progress

Hi friends!
I sewed!
Got six blocks and then:
I made two strips for Jessica's and Richard's quilt.
 Then I started this:
That little corner was all I got done. Kind of shakes looking. You can get lost in those little diamonds.
Got a letter from the mammogram place  this morning saying it looked fine , didn't take as long as I thought it would.
Hope I get some sewing done today.
And maybe a nap!
Tired of not sleeping.
Have a good one

Random Things

HI friends!
My diamond painting canvas is under those books!
Got a bunch of the white and gray cut  for Jessica's quilt yesterday. I had some blue left so didn't cut any of that. I will need to after I sew these up.
Cut some tri-angles for my star points.
And I walked , that's about all I did , last night I sat down with a good book and didn't go back to
sewing.
Med's he put me on didn't work, still up hurting all night.
Guess I will just have to live with it . Seems like every woman in my family has problems sleeping at night. I know my daughter does. So does some of my aunts. And my cousins.
I feel fine right now so I must have got enough!
Hope to get some sewing done today and need to miracle-gro my tomato plants and pull some weeds after the garden gets in the shade.
Tommy's Father's Day cake I made him, it's long gone now. It was so moist! Double Chocolate cake mix!

Quilt Of Valor

Hi Friends!
Been working on this!
Got it this far.
Yesterday we went for my mammograms, long trip! I had called Rome three times to have it down there, it's closer. But never could get them to answer. So I called the one in Ft. O and made a apt.
Was wore out by the time we got back. .
The car does that to me, don't know why!
Didn't do any more than I had to when we got home.
Hoping to get started flattening my Diamond canvas this afternoon and play with it some.
Have a good one

Jessica and Richards Quilt

Hi friends!
I spent Sat. afternoon working on this!
Adding rows on and extending rows that were to short.
Used up most of that last cutting of pieces.
The fabric bucket that I have them in.
Not much left so I guess I will be cutting some more.
Sat. I washed the old quilt top that was donated to our group and because it smelled ,with out color catchers.
Bad Idea!
The last red strip she had added to it bleed! None of the rest did but will have to wash it with them today.
It finally came , JulieRose.
I will play with it later today. Thinking if these are half as pretty as the pictures they would make great Christmas presents for my step girls for next year. Just have to wait
see! They are all like me crazy about Christmas!
If it's half this pretty!
Just had to get it when I saw it.
Have a good one

Quilt of Valor

Hi friends!
My wall is full.
One complete row!
Used up all my blocks so I will cut and make some more.
Now my quilt wall is empty.
The rules of Quilt of Valor is 65 by 85 or 90. It's going to be a big quilt.
Yesterday I went to walk my track and got bit by something. Three times!
My ear swelled up and turned red. When I felt it on me a took a swipe at it and made it mad so it bite me two more times as it left.
And my neck is swelled to below that . Hate when bugs bite me , they love me and come back for more, I had some cling-free sheets hanging on my glasses but they had been laying on my table on the back porch and the smell that keeps away bugs had left them.
I will use a fresh one today!!!
Have a good one

Jessica's and Richard's Quilt

Hi friends!
Still working on this!
Part of this isn't attached yet! Started working on making all these the same length.
Love all the gray and blues. I sewed together four strips after cutting some more Whites and blues.
When I get these added I will cut some more to make it wider.
Tommy worked on his John Deer yesterday.
He is so sore today, it's been two years since he worked on it last. He got  cushion's to lay on but that didn't help  much. He has had this mower nearly 12 years and keeps replacing the wore out parts.

Quilt of Valor

HI friends!
I had made a bunch of the blocks so started joining.
I bought some back ground fabric to use between the blocks, It's light gold with stars.
Hard to see!
Not much in sewing done this past weekend. This block last night.
These three on Sat. Had to move a bunch down off my quilt wall.
Using some of the fat quarters in this. That I bought at our Q-Bees meeting.
These flue in to that nasty pond across our street, when I got a picture of it some had flown away, Tommy said their was 6 or 7.
Must have not liked the looks of it! It's full of turtles. And probably snakes!
I know turtles come over in our yard all the time.

Father's Day

Hi friends!
Yesterday Tommy got a big surprise!
Missy was going to take us out to eat but when we got there all the kids were there.
This is after we ate. Of course knowing us we were going to take pictures.
Tommy and his girls.

The only one's that are missing is Landon and Alixs's family, Missy's two boys  And Caitlin's family.
We always have a great time but it was hard for me because Dr put me on a nerve pill that depress's me.  Not suppose to do that but they always have!

Q-Bees

Hi Friends!
We had a good turn out last night. Imogene has the shingles so she wasn't there. Iva Nell was sick to.
We had a few items to show and tell, I brought my good night Irene wheelchair quilt. Sis brought one.
Fay brought one.
Really cute!
The ladies from the quilt shop.
They brought lots of good fabric for us to buy. She said they would quilt charity quilts for a whole lots less then others, plus she gave us a discount last night.
Lots of fat quarters , lots of bolts some for as little as $2.99.
We also had some great snacks to munch on.
She was cutting and the other lady was ringing it up . The white is for a log cabin that I want to make for us.
Mostly of it is for Quilt's of Valor,  And the yardage was some I had never seen for a quilt of valor.
If we make it till next year we will make another one . A lot of us are each making one this year and I am sure next year we will to.
We have lots of veterans in our little county.
As always , lots of laughter and fun!
Have a great weekend

Jessica's and Richard's Quilt

Hi friends!
Lengthen a few more strips!
Pinned a few ! Then sewed them up!
Got this far and stopped for supper.
After that I read This.
 Very good!
Tonight is our meeting of the Q-Bees.
Let you know all about that tomorrow! Looking forward to seeing some great projects.
I am taking my Good Night Irene wheelchair quilt for show and tell.
Our guest tonight is the owner of the first quilt shop we visited on our trip in May. The shop in Ringold.
Next month Sis may do a teddy bear demonstration if she isn't out with surgery.
Her surgeon said the first opening that comes available. Last year at this time she had her shoulder operated on, a couple of  weeks ago she had her appendix taken out. But that was a surprise!
She wants to get every thing fixed so she can travel more.

Quilt of Valor

Hi friends!
Still working on the Quilt of Valor.
The two big middle ones were in a panel I bought. The flags were fabric That I bought some where.
Still not sure of placement but I like the idea.
This morning we saw a dead kitten down the road, right on the road a few feet from my track that I walk on.
Some one must have thrown it out of a passing car. because their are no cat's around that haven't been fixed. And people do that here ! We find dogs that some one had thrown out here to.
We have a pound but they are to lazy to carry it there.
Maybe they think some one on this road will take it in but that one was to small to get out of the road
This is the prettiest my tiger lily's has been in the 19 years we have lived here.
When we first moved here I planted lots of flowers but that drought we had a couple of years ago killed a lot of them.
It got all my Hosta, I keep thinking I will get me some more.
I buy petunia's every year but the rest was sent when some one died and I just put them on the  covered  porch every winter, none of them have recovered yet from the porch.
Well need to sew for a while
