Yesterday

Hi friends!
Yesterday when I turned the quilt over I found a rather large pleat!
So the only thing I did that is sewing related was rip out my quilting so it will look better. I hadn't sleep good the night before so didn't feel like sewing.
After my eye appt. we went to my favorite place to eat Red Lobster.  I love their biscuits! Better than dessert!
We are always so stuffed after eating there !
Not weight watchers!
I love their baked fish to, I wish I could cook it like that.
Coming back when we got to the big hill between our town and where we live  I took a picture . It has the greatest view . They have clear cut some land . Before all we saw was trees.
This is the view from Taylors Ridge toward our country. We live in the valley furthest away right before the last mountain.
I love our rolling  Hills and mountains.
Have a great weekend.

A Win

Hi friends!
Look at this gorgeous fabric! It's pansy's and I don't think it has been released yet.
I got a email from the Henry Glass company Monday morning saying I had won and replied and right away got an answer. that sweet lady said she would get it in the mail that day but I was still shocked when a fed-x truck came up yesterday and delivered it.
Yesterday was Wednesday! That's two day delivery!
I had hoped to finish both borders and put on my binding but putting on borders that way is labor intensive!
It was 6:30 before I finished adding the second border.
Hopefully I will get the binding cut and added today and can start sewing it down.
Have a good one

Blake's Quilt

Hi friends!
Got that muslin!
When we got home I cut it to fit after I added a narrow strip of black on the near side of the border.
Putting the first border together. I decided to put two layers of battening on these because the rest of the quilt is so thick and heavy.
I got both done yesterday and ironed before I quilt for the day. Some thing about going to Walmart wares me out. You see every one you ever new there and talk so much it takes two hours to get out of there. And this is every time you go!
Today I hope to get them quilted and added and the binding on. I plan on doing a little quilting between each row on the quilt to.

Blake's Quilt.

Hi friends!
This is  what the border will look like when I get my muslin to sandwich it.
I plan on getting it this afternoon.
I wanted to have that red there. It just sets off the red in some of the t-shirts.
I have used more than five yards of black and it's hard to see where.
It's going to be one heavy quilt and I am thinking of doubling the battening on each border.
Then it should be almost the same weight.
It's amazing that it can be this heavy with just light weight interfacing on it.

Blake's Quilt

Hi friends!
Friday afternoon I finished the second row.
Sat. I spent the day adding those two rows to Blake's Quilt.
I decided since it was already long enough I would put small black borders on the top and bottom about as large as the ones between each row.
I am thinking about a red  and black border on each side just to bring it to size. But I will have to wait until I get some more Muslin to finish both borders . That's what I am using on the back
I stopped at 6 o'clock   and yesterday I took the day off.
But if I don't have any problems this quilt should be finished by the week-end.
It's about time I started finishing quilt's instead of just sewing!!!
Have a good one

Today

Hi friends!
Tommy cooking steak.
My biscuits on the counter waiting to go into the oven.
This came in two orders, so now I have enough to start Noah's quilt but it will be a couple of weeks before I finish up the ones I am working on.
Look what I found!
This goes with my big quilting machine.
I lost it months ago! I had replaced several of the feet!
Found it yesterday while looking for something else.
I also found this, I though I had some black thread when I bought that last week.
I worked yesterday on Blake's quilt, putting more blocks in a row.
I still need to finish  the second row. This is the first row finished.
Hopefully I will get all the rows together this weekend and start on the borders.

Blake's quilt

Hi friends!
I did the next one , though I had it right but it was up-side down to. Getting to be a expert at putting them on up-side down!
I now have five rows and some that need putting together so yesterday I added blocks to each other.
We got a good rain about 7 and it poured for a few minutes!
They say that's the kind that runs off into the ditch's and doesn't soak in.
Monday and Tuesday night's after dark we got good ones to, but it did this last year and as soon as we got the garden in it quit!
Hoping for better this year.

Blake's Quilt

Hi friends!
Last week before Wednesday I added the third row but when I finished it was  up side down.
So I took it apart and then didn't sew from Wednesday until Monday. It  was mad cleaning around here. Tommy outside and me inside.
But yesterday I started in on this one and I am going to stay on it until I finish!
I got it right side up, Yah!
Four rows on! The next rows are not completely together yet. But hope to get that done this after noon.
We had to make a trip to Centre Ala. yesterday for parts to fix john deer.
It's parts are a whole lot higher than my sewing machine parts!
We spent $326.00 and when we got home and Tommy went through the bags, one something was missing . I told him to call and let them mail it to him.
It had already took to much sewing time.
Two bags cost that much and more!!!!
I could have bought lots of fabric for that amount of money!
So I sewed the rest of the day and he worked.
Have a good one

Finally A Finish

Hi friends!
Hagen came over Sat. night and I gave him his quilt. Here he is looking at the block form the Super bowl t-shirt.
The fence picture!
I think he loved it, Abby said he wrapped up in the other one I made him every night. This one should be long enough , it measures 100 inch's in length.

Easter 2017

Hi friends!
We had a good crowd, we missed Anna and Angel because they had to work.
Michael was in Washington D.C. where he is in law school.
Abby's bunch didn't make it either.
But we had a few great grand's looking for eggs.
Shania wasn't to sure about what was going on, she tried to eat the plastic eggs.
Tucker was not looking where they were hiding eggs.
Bentley looking for eggs.
Kari helping Shania.
Tucker knew what it was all about.
Gracie was the oldest. a old hand. we sure did miss Brad , D.J. and the babies!
They always came to every thing! His  brothers not so much! At least they came to Missy,  their moms, on Sat. night.

Today

Hi friends!
My last barn for the row of barns for my quilt.
Dawn sent me the barn animals in my barn. She blogs   HERE
MY rosters and sheep and cows!
I quilted some more on this yesterday, started sewing binding down and saw another bare spot.
I guess because I took out so much stitching that it's hard to tell.
Any way it's getting closer to a finish.
My Lavender is blooming to!
It smells so good!
Not blogging tomorrow , I will be back with Great Grand's hunting eggs on Monday .

Maybe Hagen's quilt is nearly finished.

Hi friends!
Yesterday I finally started quilting Hagen's quilt.
I though I was finished and  while adding  binding  I found I had missed the whole corner, so it back to quilting. of course I finished adding the binding so I can start binding as soon as I finish it!
This is one of the feet I got with my feather weight! I saw a foot on my tablet that looks just like it.
I think this is the same one and it pleats.
I will have to play with it one day.
The wisteria is starting to bloom. It was in full bloom when my mom died in April of 2004.
This little tulip has been blooming for two weeks!
Most of them are gone in just a few days.
I think this is one Amy gave me years ago.
