Q-Bees Quilt Shop Hop

Hi friends!
Some of the Q-Bees went to check out some quilts shops Sat.
The first one was Janet's Quilt Shop in Tunnel Him Ga.  She had some really great prices! Plus since we were a quilt group she gave us a discount.
Her shop was a quilt of valor
shop so I found some more fabric for the one I am making.

This is a Quilt of Valor they are working on.
The second shop was In Ringold , Ga. and we had heard it was closed on Sat, but while we were peeping in the window we saw the owner inside.
"The name of it was "It's Sew Time"
She had decided to start opening on Saturdays.  I didn't get anything there but some of the others did.

It was a small store but she had Batiks on sale so the girls got lots.

She had a good bit crammed into that store along with sewing machines and long arm machines.

She used every inch. We will go back to both stores when Sis and I spend our next day shopping.
Needless to say I sewed nothing all weekend.
Hope to get some done today.

Haley's Finished now to finish her Parents Quilt

Hi friends!
Finish's Haley's quilt , Now to get busy and finish Landon and Tori's.

Their Quilt is the jewel box and I need to add some more backing on where it just wasn't quite enough.
Hopefully I will get that done today and iron it so I can start quilting on it.
But I have Q-Bee's after while, Just made some fudge for our meeting.
I got a picture of it yesterday because the sun was out and I knew it wouldn't be today.

So far One invite to Michael graduating from Law School, no picture but the one  on the left is Noah and Addie in the middle , grands graduating this month and Jarrod{long black hair}is a great -grand graduating. Still have at least two more coming. From grand kids
My beautiful grand Addie ! And all the boys are handsome . Alisha and Hagen's hasn't come yet. We are going to be broke grandparents !
But just one more in High school of all our grands.
David is our baby , youngest grand! He's sixteen.
Praying we don't all get washed away

Random Things

Hi friends!
I joined two rows that were the same size yesterday.

Then pinned the top and got that sewed down.
Worked on adding some grey to the other rows.
But then I started back reading this.

I had started it the day before.  Not the kind of book that's easy to put down.
This is old but one I hadn't read . Finished it last night.
Hand-sewed my binding on  Haley's quilt a while , just like a little bit finishing it. Going to sew it on the machine to so it want come loose on top of that since she is just 3, a good dragging around quilt.
Since we drink our coffee every morning on the porch now I don't get any hand sewing done in the mornings.

My flags are still blooming , my yellows now!

After they finish tommy always cuts them down but they keep spreading. The whites I got from A good friend that is dead now, the yellows were in a patch behind here where Tommy's mother had put them out and the purple were Tommy's first wife's at the house that Tommy sold.
That drought a few years ago killed all my Hosta and I haven't replaced them.
We have ant beds all over and they go straight to any flower bed I make.
Hate those things! And ant killer just makes them move.
Well need to sew!

T-Shirt Quilt

Hi friends!
Got all of these quilted , and most  in rows.  May just do a couple of small borders to make it a lap quilt.

Going to add some fill in and then join the rows.

Was hoping to finish it this week but not looking like it's going to happen.
Oh well , I will work on it today

Weekend Sewing

Hi friends!
Working on the binding!

Saturday I trimmed , added the binding and trimmed again.

Squared it up good on all four corners before adding the binding.
Sewed down the binding and as you see it's on the couch!
I may be half way through.
Today I may start working on Landon and Tori's quilt. Going to have to add to the backing I know.
Tommy was dizzy all weekend, dozing and pale looking, not like him at all so to the Dr. we go.

A little sewing

Hi friends!
Decided to use this for the binding!
Of course as soon as I get it sewed down I will find that piece I was looking for.

There was six are seven of these in front of us last Sunday as we were on our way to church.
Tommy would love to have his grandfathers!
His uncle took it and told him he would bring it back because it rightfully went to Tommy as the oldest male but he never saw it again.

A little sewing! Pot holders and Towels you hang around your neck so it's there to grab any time you need it.

Good Day

Hi friends!
About all I cut yesterday was for Jessica's quilt.
I spent some time looking! You know how that goes!
I used a black with Grey flowers in Haley's quilt and put up the rest for the binding.
My sewing room is small but I can not find that black fabric!
It was beautiful all day yesterday then rained last night.
Tommy worked all day outside.

Tommy hadn't cut the grass under those trees this year so he cut low limbs and I carried them up into the woods, then he got it cut .

This was the sky when we came in!

The English Dogwood   bush in front of my sewing room window. His grandmother planted it in the front yard.

Yesterday

Hi friends!
The highlight of yesterday, I found a Bonnie Hunter at MaKays. There was two different one's but I already had the other.

Got these two!
I had glanced through the other and saw a pattern I wanted to try.
I didn't sleep much Monday night but still had a good time with my Sis.
we always go to McKays first and since we both felt bad from lack of sleep we skipped a lot of places we usually go. She wanted to go to Target after a jump suit so we did that then stopped at Hamrick's. I needed  a black skirt for Church and got a few dressy tops.
Left a 10 , got back at 3:30 and It's a hours drive both ways so you can tell we really wasn't in the shopping mood.
But I was in the bed by 10 and sleep 11 hours. Made up for all the sleep I lost.
It may just be a part of these new pills I am on.

Finished quilting this Monday and now I am going looking in my stash for binding.
My machine just refused to sew when I sat down Monday! After much messing with it I discovered I had put the needle in backwards, just like I do on my feather weight! After sorting that out it sewed like a dream.
So lots of work to catch up today and some more sewing to do.

April Finish's

Hi friends!

Gaven's quilt.

A lap quilt and a twin sized quilt. Plenty !
Not going to work myself to hard .

Haley's Quilt and things

Hi friends!
Didn't get much sewing done over the weekend.
Started a new blood pressure medicine and just didn't!
I did quilt about a forth of this in hearts.
And last night I made these!

I made my brother a towel like this  to in John deer fabric but I may have made it to long. He would use it to grill and it might be so long that it would get into the grill.
I may have to make another for his grill. Don't want it catching on fire.

I quilted a couple of these to.
Maybe today I can get more done.
Tommy wants to go to town and look at car ports!

T-Shirt Quilt

Hi Friends!
Worked on the t-shirt quilt yesterday.
Got them all sandwiched after I finished ironing interfacing on the rest.

Ready for quilting.

Did some cutting for me a table runner.
And made this for Sis.

I made it from a fat quarter that dawn    HERE sent me a while ago.
I think when I was working on my farm girl vintage and that may have been four years ago?
Time flies when you are having fun!
