String Quilt

Hi friends!
This is the first two I did last week.

Third one!

All seven! I usually work on other quilt's during the afternoon and after supper I make some of these.

I just placed them on the bed , no pattern yet but to get it big enough I need to make a few more.
I want it big enough to fall real good. Married to a "Hog the cover's".
I plan on starting on making less and joining more this week.
To do that I will need to lay it out and see how I want it to look.
But the end is in sight!.

This is the back of a shirt my daughter had made for me! Designed by Anna, my granddaughter. It's the names of all my daughter's kids making a butterfly!
I love that! The front has a  sewing machine and it says "sewing mends  the soul"
MY son's family got me this!

It's a ancestry kit, to do my DNA. Plus they brought me this when they came for breakfast Sunday.

I love these! I aways buy me some and plant them .

Mother's day weekend

Hi Friends!
Had a great weekend, Sat we had a cook out mother's day and birthday at Eli's and Kari's.
That's my daughter hugging Tucker.

Our birthday girl Gracie, she cant wait until she is a teen-ager!
Then yesterday!

My son and most of his family! Minus Michael and Ashley. Made my Mother's Day weekend seeing both of mine. I did get to talk to Michael!
Gave Tatum her quilt.

She loved it, she is home from college for the summer.
All my grands are graduating from High School and college.
Next year we have four graduating high school and one is 2 1/2 hours away so pray the days work out so we can get to them all.

Happy Mother's Day and a Pray

Q-Bee's

Hi friends!
Last night was Q-Bee's.
Diann wasn't there , her hubby had a stroke. But is recovering and doing great.
A couple of the others wasn't there either. Some has sent their block but some hadn't .
Susan figured out we needed 7 more blocks so Sis got four and Barbara Gale got some, they had both missed last month.

Bonnie is doing a postage stamp quilt. She had made, hand-sewed , a quilt of valor for some one in her preacher's family.
She had pictures !

We had a great time as usual.

First Block and other things

Hi friends!
I love that block!
It's four of the same making a new one.
These are a lot like Jacob's ladder.

Got me some petunias yesterday! I'm going to plant them in this planter my son and his wife bought me years ago. It was made in Hall's co. High School metal shop .

It hold lots of little pots and a big one on top.
I cleaned it up, going to oil it before I start planting.

The Garden is planted.
We bought 12 tomato plants and a bell pepper and one I had never heard of a spicy bell!
Planted squash , orka, corn and cucumbers. Two kinds of squash!
My daughter wanted cucumbers! Since I made pickles last year we planted regular cucumbers.
I think that's all!

My Daughter's Quilt

Hi Friends!
This is a 2009 June issue of this magazine.
I love this quilt so am making it for my daughter whose  birthday is June 8th.
It's called Buckeye beauty unit!

This is the same block and it's called a Anvel block in a 2004 magazine.

This is a spring edition and the anvel block is in it.
It's amazing how the name changes for the same block.

My first block!
I got some red to go with these two fabric's yesterday and that's what I am using in it with white of course.
I bought some of the two yard packs of Waverly that Walmart carries.
I was suppressed that it's as thick as it is.
I bough some earlier for Micheal and Ashley's quilt.

Strips

Hi friends! Six more made last week!
 Remember after I got them trimmed I needed 16 more!
Now it's down to ten!

Tommy plowed the garden yesterday. A few more times and we will plant it.

This is Wisteria vines, They wrap around trees and are so strong that the tree grows around them.
Years ago we had some cut and those vines almost made the wood unusable.
Took that picture while on my walk last night on the trail that Tommy made me.

Kristian's Big Day

Hi friends!
Took this quilt to give to our Berry graduate!
After four years of hard work and working two jobs Kristian  graduated Saturday morning and we were there.
\We gave her this after wards at her party.

This is Nathan  her boyfriend.
With her hire me decorations on her head.

Their was a big crowd at her party celebrating with her.

This was the best I could get at the graduation  Big crowd! Got several pictures of peoples hair!

Boy on the right is in college and the one on the left will graduate high school  next year.

Double Pot Holder

Hi Friends!
Making pockets for a double pot holder. Using muslin for the back , then sew across it to hold it.

Picked out my binding fabric and trimmed across the top.
Then placeed them on top of my already cut long piece of fabric.
The pocket measures 8  1/2 inch's both way .
I cut the main part 8 1/2 by 30 I think , my last one I made was snug on a casserole so this one I wanted longer.
Added insul-bright and battening and the back piece and sewed them together.

Sewed the binding on to the back.

Pinned it down onto the front. Then sew down.

Perfect for hanging over your oven and grabbing when you need it.

Strip Quilt

Hi friends!
I trimmed all those blocks to 12 inch's and now I need a bunch more. At least a row on top and on bottom.
I want it nice and big for our bed.
So last night I started again.

Hoping to finish it this month so back to making blocks.

Tommy's cleaning out the garden.
When he works outside I work on the house.

This was my after Christmas gift to myself. The one I had had for 25 years broke but I don't think this one will last that long! They don't make things to last any more
Love how it works ! That bottom bucket gets full of the dirtiest water!
Don't know how my rugs get that dirty with just me and Tommy here.
It shoots it into the rug then it sucks it back out!
You know when Hubby is watching  t vhe doesn't want you cleaning so he can't see the t v so when he is out side I play.

Baby Quilt

Hi friends!
The baby quilt that I put together when I found out my neighbor had had a girl got sandwiched yesterday.
Wild backing. but trying to use up fabric I have had to long.

Need to get it quilted and delivered before she gets grown.

Tommy cut the front yesterday.

He cut my walking path for me.

That's our house way up their. You can just barely see it.
I share it with these sucker's.

They are all over our place.
Poison doesn't get rid of any thing but your money!
