June finish's and a wedding

Hi friends! That sweet face !
Our Gracie on her quilt!
I think that was about all that i finished in this month.

I made one basket at the first of the month. When i started writing this post we had a storm and it took out our T.V. and internet for about 2 hours.

Since the first of the month it's just been star quilt and barns and stars.
Our darling grand daughter got married last week, then went to Fla. for the honey moon. Later in the week they spent some time with my daughter and most of the rest of her kids on the beach.
My daughter's feet!
The happy couple with their Mother's, my daughter is on the left.
I hope they have a long happy life together.
Have a great day friends.

Barns and dogs

Hi friends!
I sandwiched the blocks i had made Sat.
I laid them out Friday and needed 3 more stars and another row of barns because i am not going to add a border. Unless i just have to!
Want it good and big !

Made my stars Friday afternoon and put them together Sat.
Sunday we didn't have company so i' built' 5 barns
Not going to put all my barns on here
This was after i finished my stars.
That's why i needed another row, then it will be 5 row across and 6 rows down, should be plenty big enough.
We went and bought another dog Kendal this morning to replace the parts that have rusted out.
This makes 4 of those we have bought in the last 10-=12 years, our dogs are getting old.
Son gave me two as a birthday present one year when all our grands were little.
That year Tommy got me one for my birthday but it wasn't long before they were bringing blood , they are both boys. so we had to buy another and separate them. The we got another to make theirs pens bigger.
We haven't been on vacation since because they stop eating when we are gone, the most we have been gone was over night at my son's.

Have a great one friends

Quilt!

Hi friends!
I put some more of these together yesterday.
My stack went from this!
To the big stack by my machine.
Looks like a lot don't it?
I spread these on the bed and it going to be a pretty quilt . I got this:
For the sashing but it is white and the blocks are done with snow! i may have to see how that's going to look.
It would look good with a pastel sashing to!
I still have got a few blocks in my project box to sandwich.
That's all i got out of the garden yesterday, this dry weather is slowing things up.
But their is a good chance of rain today and storms !
Sure don't need any real bad weather but the garden does need a drink bad.
We had to go back to Rome yesterday for some paper work to take to the Dr. when we go.
When we are on the road most of the day it wears me out! But i did get some work done yesterday!
Hope you'll have a great weekend

Blocks

Hi friends!
Finished this one !
I decided to look for some backing.
I found some brown fabric that i think i will have enough to do the backing.
So i put together two late yesterday and will work on sandwiching some more today.
I am thinking white for the sashing so i ordered some moda white and it looks white.
It came this morning.
I just liked two filling it up for the second time.
Have a great day friends.

Today

Hi friends!
Another barn!
This one messes with your eyes!
This one may be to light , if it is i will use it somewhere else.
We went to Rome early for as ultra sound and a trip to Tommy's  Vascular Surgeon. He said he was good to go until next year.
When we got through there we ate a late lunch at my favorite restaurant.
Red Lobster , I love their sailors plater .
At lunch it's just right , light, they serve it about half the size of the later plates !
Of course i love their biscuits!
I started this last night but didn't finish.
So i know what i will be doing this afternoon right after i take a nap!
I sleep all of a hour and a half last night!
Hate those night's when i can't go to sleep!
Have a great one friends.

Barns and garden

Hi friends!
My quilt wall is filling up again!
I've made three barns and three stars yesterday and Sat..
As soon as i fill it up i will start GAYG on my blocks.
My supper last night , the squash from my garden that i put into the skillet for just long enough to start to brown and then dump into a bread pan and put into the oven on 400 for a while.
That gets rid of a lot of grease..
Tommy is not suppose to eat any thing greasy but he loves squash cooked like this.
This is what i cooked, Tommy ate some sweet pepper to go with his.
I started on another barn  and another star that i should finish today.
It's so hot outside , heat index today is 100 and tomorrow it's suppose to be higher.
Tommy can't stand being in the house even when it's this hot , he is on the porch now.
I picked in the garden and got a whole lot more squash. Last year he planted a half row and we gave it away for weeks.  He planted a whole row this year!
Have a great day friends.

Hot Days of summer

Hi friends!
I finished my block Sat.
Took all my blocks that i had made and put them into a project box and started again.
I made this one but the pink is very light and doesn't slow up real well.
Then i made this one that shows up really well.
Another barn started !
The garden was really dry so Tommy watered it good and this morning in thanked us, it gave us all this
We will be having squash for supper tonight.

This snake skin was just beside where Tommy parked his truck in the shade.
When we first moved here 15 years ago we were sitting on the front steps and saw one going across the front yard, he is in snake heaven now!
Son-in-law said it was a rattler!
Tommy hates these things and i do too!!!!!
Have a great day friends.

Another Barn

Hi friends!
My next barn!
We spent a lot of time in town yesterday and Tommy  still had to go  back early this morning for a new set of tires for my car. They don't keep a big enough stock at hand.
This is my log cabin block. i think i used to much of the same fabric, but it done and i am not changing it.
You see these people that own this barn stores their boats in it.
I just had a little time to work on this before supper.
I found this neat fabric for the roof in my bag of scraps. So far i have seven stars and this will made 6 barns.
That's all i got done but should have some time over the weekend to work on it even through Tommy's girls will come and see him this weekend .
It's Father's day Sunday  and if any father's read this Happy Father's day.
When Tommy got back from getting the tires put on he brought us breakfast from Bojangles and we had breakfast on the back porch in the cool morning air.
We are getting surrounded by chicken houses so want be able to do that much .
Some one told us they didn't stink now .....they lied!!!!!!
Right up above us they built this house and the medal at the lower left side is chicken houses, during one of our small rains yesterday the wind changed to the north and you could not stand to be outside.
Of course Timmy's threatening to sale and leave!!!
They are planning to build some more south of us and they already have eight there.
This used to be a great place to live!!! Tommy said dry valley will have to be changed to stinky valley!
Have a great weekend friends.

Barns and Stars

Hi friends!
Another barn!
The block is called ' fresh flower', isn't she pretty?
Making the barns after the tiny blocks is getting easier.
I made this one to for the star part  of my quilt.
I think today i am going to make a log cabin block if i can make it that small!
My quilt wall is just about full, guess i will take these and put them into a block box and start again. The picture is not good brecause i don't have any light in the hall when it's hanging
The garden is getting to dry again, Tommy will have to water it if we don't get some rain soon.
We just go from to much to to little and back and forth again.

we have lots of little baby squash, maybe next week will have some to cook.
I picked a hot pepper yesterday and Tommy cut the seeds out and ate part of it.
Seems like it takes forever for the tomato's to get ripe every year.
Have a great day friends.
