And to get this quilted!
Plus make pies!  I have my sweet potato's in the oven cooking right now!
Rained over the weekend!
Yesterday we went to visit our drug store owner and he helped Tommy by signing him up with another insurance.
Told him that 400.00 dollar inhaler was two meds that was old and there for cheap but they put it in a fancy inhaler sand changed 400.00 dollars for it. Our country is a bunch of crooks!
our government needs a police over them!
WE need to clean house!  But that want happen , the biggest crooks have bought off to many people.
I am now off my bandstand!
Got lots of cooking, cleaning and get to see our families! Lots to look forward to.

Older!

Hi Friends!
Look what the mail man brought me!
From my sweet friend Colette.  That chocolate want last long! Beautiful Christmas fat quarters , she knows how I love Christmas fabric. Lots and Lots of them!!!
Next birthday in our family is Michaels.

Hubby gave me this yesterday early and I got a call from my son and a text message from my daughter so my day was happy.
I added binding onto the boy quilt so I got some sewing time in so my birthday was perfect.
Also worked on the customer t-shirt quilt.
Don't think I made pictures of that.
Michael and his lovely Ashley back last year when I gave them their quilt. He is our Lawyer!    Next year we go to Virginia for their wedding. Set for March.
Have a good one

Rainy Day in Ga.

Hi friends!
Got up to rain this morning.
We still have plenty of leaves on our Bradford Pears. Maybe this rain will knock the rest off.  Suppose to rain hard tonight!
Yesterday we went back to the Dr. that did a biopsy on Tommy last week to find out the results.
Every thing was good.
So we celebrated by going to Red Lobster.
We always order the same thing! But when we got home we were miserable.  It never  before hurt me at all but bothered me all night!  Maybe they used a new spice or something !
May have to find a new place to eat!
Old age is rough!
Have a great weekend!

Resting!

Hi friends!
Did a little quilting on the t-shirt quilt !
Got a few done , maybe after Dr. visit this afternoon I can finish those. At least I got rested yesterday.
I have started another diamond painting. Amazing how relaxing these are. Doing this for my sis , as you can tell kind of ,it's a dog and it looks like her dogs.
Maybe one of her Christmas presents.
I looked again for that fabric, don't know when it's hid!  May have to turn the whole room just to find it.  I have a red with while dots I wonder if that would be to loud after all lots of red in the quilt.
Worry about that later,

Cleaning and Mowing!

Hi friends!
The closest thing to sewing I did yesterday was look for backing for the baby boy quilt.
Looking for some white with tiny red dots that I know is here some where! Just hope I have enough for the backing.
I deep cleaned the living room yesterday, climbed for a few hours! Cleaned the ceiling fans and then the blinds on those nine 6  ft. windows. Then the floor! But still needed to mop and vacuum.
I cleaned the rugs Monday with my carpet cleaner.
So one room cleaned and ready for company.
Maybe I can do another one today! But last night was one of those wide awake all night... nights.
I might just fold fabric and straighten in there after I take a nap.
Tommy got his leaf blower out but rats had made a home in there so I held and he cleaned!
Bowed the leaves off the porch and around the house and yesterday he run over them and chewed them up. Couldn't chew them up Monday  For the simple reason when he went to use the lawn mower it wouldn't start so he had to work on it Monday.
We still have the six Bradford pears that the leaves haven't fell off of yet.
He went out just now and came back in saying the wind had turned and was coming out of the North..
Have a good one

Going to try to sandwich it today.
Then I put pins in places that I need to work on, On this! Some places where the edges didn't stay together that needs to be resewed.
This is Jessica's Quilt hoping to give it to her next week. She passed all her finals and Is now a nurse!
We will go to graduation sometime soon.
We are blessed  Kristin works at Oglethorpe university, Michael works as a lawyer with the great Bobby Lee Cook and now we have a nurse!
and got lots of grands still  going to college.
Only one out of 22 still in high school!

VERSE OF THE DAY

November 18

Nahum 1:3

3 The LORD is slow to anger but great in power; the LORD will not leave the guilty unpunished. His way is in the whirlwind and the storm, and clouds are the dust of his feet.

Week end Sewing

Hi friends!
Saturday I cut squares of boy fabric for that baby boy quilt.
Started sewing it together yesterday after my Sunday afternoon nap! Don't usually take one but woke up at five  that morning and couldn't go back to sleep.
I was reading blogs yesterday and saw grey used in a pattern like this, was planning on going to buy some solid baby blue and used this instead. Had plenty of the grey left over from Jessica's quilt.
I needed to shop my fabric instead of running and buying! Tommy says I have more than Walmart!
But you know how that goes, lots of one yards and scraps.
Have a great day

Sunday Verse

Verse of the Day

November 7

1 Peter 5:6-8

6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. 7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. 8 Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

Another Blanket

Hi friends!
Blogging on my lap top today! Didn't use it and forgot the password so yesterday I charged it and tried a few and finally figured it out.
My big computer needs cleaning I think but the only place I have problems with it is on blogger.
The only sewing I got done  yesterday, we mostly catch up or I did. My house keeping had been absent all week.
So I did that then sewed a little.
And read blogs of course!
My bag of things for Baby Jones is getting full so I need a bigger bag!
Maybe we will stay at home until Sunday morning and I can get some sewing done.
Have a great weekend

Baby Things!

Hi Friends!

I may get another done before her shower in Dec.

This  is the  boy blanket I bought when we shopped Tuesday.
I need to browse the internet to find something else to make. so far burp cloth's and blankets and a changing pad for the diaper bag is all I have made.
I know with the last great grand I made a big bag full of things. I think she is two now! Haven't seen her in months.
It's hunting season and they know we want shoot them! So I see a bunch every day in the yard.
When Tommy went out yesterday to remove the ice in Rusty's pan he saw 6 or 7.
Hope for a quite day today , been on the road all week with handing out quilts Monday  to Vets and Shopping Tuesday and then Dr.s   apt. yesterday.
Blogger is having a fit. Would not let me post pictures till just now!
Hoping to sew today!

Shopping!

Hi friends!
Sis and I went for our shopping trip and you see we always hit JoAnn. She needed backing for a quilt and I needed some boy flannels. Found this and it was on sale!
This are the two boy flannels I bought to.
And while I was gone the mail man brought me this.
The batik is for a quilt for us! The other just because!
We also took 8 bags of books to McKay's to exchange. Came back with four or five bags!  Should last us a while.
As a nod to our past we went to eat at Waffle house because they do breakfast to order.
Our Mother taught us to love grits poured over eggs with the yellow running. I know it's a no-no  with the yellow not completely cooked but we love it, so that's what we had for lunch.
It was so good!
Then we hit Hamricks! I got four or five tops and a pair of dress pants plus some half boots and Tommy a shirt for 81 dollars! It was seniors discount day and they were having a sale.
Since I took up quilting as you all know I don't buy clothes! I was  seriously in need!
I just buy Fabric!  And  I hate to make my own clothes.
I enjoyed the day a lot.
Have a good one

Q=Bee's Make's Quilts of Valor

Hi friends!
Look who was running the whole thing...Paula!  My daughter -in-laws best friend. This is the school Amy taught at.
The Quilt I made went to the oldest veteran.
This vet's family got this and it  was made by Charlotte.  Susan and Charlotte holding it.
Glenda has this one made just for giving at the show.
Since I was making pictures Patsy held this one up.  Made from a donated top.  Finished by me.
That lady was so tickled to get one.
We had five to give away and One that Glenda had made,
We got up and left here a little after 9.
The speaker at the program got the one Susan made.
Vickie presented the one Dianne made.
I may have missed one .
I may have even missed taking picture of one with the talking.
But we enjoyed the whole presention.
Now to get back to my Christmas sewing.

Scared it I guess.
I took out a bunch of stitch's yesterday and going on with the quilting now. maybe can finish and get some binding on and stitched down before Monday on Veteran's Day.  One more quilt to give to a vet.
I plan on trying!
Don't like the velvet 0r what ever it is on it because I keep cutting off strings where it frays.
Monday when I blog , if this computer isn't in the shop I will show pictures of giving out quilts to Vet.s I hope nothing happens to interfere.
Have a great weekend

Verse of the Day

November 6

Psalm 85:8

8 I will listen to what God the LORD says; he promises peace to his people, his faithful servants— but let them not turn to folly.

Finishing!

 Hi friends!
Just finishing up a few projects. One blanket for our soon to be greatgrand son.
This is a changing  pad for the diaper bag.
Add ribbons to roll and tie. Looks like a boy doesn't it?
I was quilting on the donated quilt top for a vet that we are giving next Monday. Have no idea who donated it but they donated two to our group. I now have the other one but can't finish it to!
Going to have to work on my quilting machine! Looks like the bobbin!
Right now I am ripping out seams!  Hoping to finish this one before next Monday.
Suppose to be raining today but so far nothing.
Been fighting with this computer all day!
Maybe I can avoid carrying it to the shop!
Have a good one

Good Weather

Hi friends!
Worked on these yesterday in my sewing time and got all of them sandwiched.
Got all of these ready to be quilted., I still have plenty of interfacing for a few of the fronts of the shirts to fill in spaces.
It was pretty so Tommy got up there to fix a leak on the back porch. Now we wait for rain to see if it worked!
I hope he got it! Suppose to rain tomorrow.
Then get cooler , rain Monday and getting cold!
Our grand-hog, he thinks he owns the place.
Tommy was out side working and he was wondering around not to far from him.
I finished up my Quilt of Valor that we are giving away on Monday. All I still needed to do was stitch down the label.
Now to try to finish the donated quilt top by next Monday. Got it sandwiched!
Have a good one
