August finish's

Hi friends!
My only big finish for last month!
But with Tommy in the hospital i am lucky to finish one.

Lola's birthday quilt, her birthday was the first of the month.
I did finish some little things.

For our 14th great grand. She will be here later this year or early next year.

I cut out some more yesterday, might get them together today!
One has bears and the other has bunnies.
Got to work some more on her quilt and big blanket.

These have the same number. but as you can see they are different  shades of pink.
I may use so much of one and then use so much of the other.
I have some here that match's the pinker one but looked all over and couldn't find it.
It will show up when i don't need it!

Friday finish!

Hi friends!
This is my Friday finish!

After making this last year i decided to just put a pocket on the right side.
You can't really get to the left side when you are quilting.

This is the nearly finished sewing mat with just a pocket half way.

Just right for what i wanted..

Today!

Hi friends!
I wanted some Christmas fabric and Craftsy had a sale.
I ordered the fabric under these for a Christmas present so not showing much of it.
I have looked at most of the fabric's in the charm packs and i like the one at the top best.
It's holiday Magic by Benartex and it has the most Christmasy fabric in it.
Some i may order some yardage in.

I worked on Shania Faith's quilt some and got more of it together.

Still have a ways to go with it but i am going to cut letters today i think.
We had to go and get some diesel fuel this morning , you know Hubby can't pick up 0ver 15Lbs and the Dr. told me years ago not to pick up over 20 but when Tommy got it full it weighted more that 20 so when we got home i suggested using his pull behind wagon to carry it in the barn. He liked that idea , Amazing!!!
 But i had thought to roll it out put the fuel into it and roll it back in.
His idea  was to hook it to the john deer and carry it into that small space.
He spent 10 minutes tying to get that wagon where he wanted it for me to pick the can up!
 Do all men do that , waste so much time doing things the hard way?
Now i have fuel on my hands!!!!!!

I was reading Dawn's blog yesterday and realized that my feather weight doesn't have a mat to sit on
She blogs on sewuquilt2 and my crazy computer or blogger one want let me link to her blog.!
Any way i started mine with a bunch of three inch. squares .
I may work on it some today to.

Aden's quilt

Hi friends!
This is the other quilt that i made for Aden after i made Eli a baby quilt and sent it to them.
This should keep them warm until Eli gets old enough to sleep by himself.
I think they sleep together.

I put a boat in the middle of it.

The other end!
Had to get a picture of both of them.
All the squares are boy fabric.
I usually make them a big boy quilt when they are about 2 or 3.
Are a big girl quilt.

Sat. company

Hi friends!
Grandson and his family came to see us Sat. , we hadn't seen them for about a year.
I made their quilt last year in Sept.

They were tickled to finally get it.
We also gave his boys their last years Christmas presents.

This is Aden with his tractor we got him.

This is Eli, aren't they cute

Aden is holding what we got Eli.
Eli was more interested in playing with the boxes!
He is 13 months old and we haven't seen him sense he was a couple of weeks old.
They live in Ala.

Shania's quilt

Hi friends!
I made the other block after looking and looking for the pieces that i had already cut!
Don't know how i loss stuff from one day to the next.
I laid it out to see how i wanted it.

That should leave enough room for at least her first name.

I laid the other rows out with it.
The name row didn't pop so i cut some three inch strips of the pink to go on it.

I think that will work and it should be close to 45" by 60 " which is what i wanted.

These two pretty little girls came over last night with their parents to see how Tommy was doing.

Today

Hi friends!
The only thing wrong with this ruler is the little scraps!
I hate to waste beautiful fabric!

I made these blocks to put on the ends of the white strip with her name on it.
I had to sew something yesterday and this was it.

Don't know how it got mixed up but it will do , that light one was two that i had left .
 Just had enough to do these two blocks.

I found this layer cake , home for the harvest, to make something for Thanksgiving, going to make a table topper like the one Dawn of  here is making.
Her blog is sewuquilt2, go and visit and see what she is making.
Just have to find out how the pattern goes together.
As if i didn't have too much to do now.
Some can slide i guess.
Had my handsome grandson over for breakfast this morning.

He is going back to "Ole Miss" this weekend for his last 3 month there , he graduates Christmas .
He wants to be a Lawyer so he will go on some where else to finish up.
Got to get busy .

I worked on Shania Faith's quilt yesterday.

I was thinking about a white strip to add her name to but i don't know if that would look right.
I was going to add a block made with these fabric's at each end.
I think white will make her name pop , what do you think?
My big camera washes out the colors so i am using my old kodak . Not the best pictures but it shows the true colors.
I may have to put it on the bed , the lighting is better in there.
Tommy drove to the drug store yesterday, feeling better at last.
He came home and put his jeans on but had to take them off later , they were rubbing against his surgery site.
I will spend today taking out stitches from one i am quilting so want get any sewing done.
Going to take a while.
Nice rainy day to do it!

Shania's things

Hi friends!
 I was in making baby things mode Saturday.

A pretty flannel burp cloth for soon to be g-grand Shania.

Another little bib, Tommy said that would be to little but I think he has forgot how little they are when newborn.

There is something about doing small things with fast finish's that is good for quilter's!
I started work on her a quilt to.

This is what i have made so far!
It's very light and doesn't show up well.
But beautiful fabric.
"Cristine" and Moda goes great together.
