Nette's Quilt

Hi friends!

Beautiful day!

I ordered some of this from Fabric.com yesterday to use in Nette's quilt.  Keeping with the beaches theme.

I think i am going to make a small border around this and put some more blocks around that.  It should be here in a day or two. They work fast and their business is just around 150 miles from me.

I pulled every happy fabric i could find to add to it from my stash.

Nette's quilt and Father's day

Hi friends!

Beautiful day!

It's up to 33 by 33 and i need to find some sea shells fabric to add to it.

Clair came to see her g=grand daddy yesterday for Father's Day.

So did Lola and she just about walks now, just a little bit scared.

My daughter and some of her kids and Tonia and Kim  and Richard all came to see him.

Two other's sent him messages on facebook but he's not on facebook.  I showed them to him.

He said i always came to see my daddy on Father's day.

They think he will be here forever but he want!!!!!!!  We are getting old! in pretty good shape for our age , a whole lot better than a lot but people don't live forever.

All told we had a good day.

Wet Garden

Hi friends!
Beautiful sun shiny day!!!!!!
See that tiny squash?

We had a storm earlier this week and all the corn laid down in the other direction and last night we had another , this time from the north and it laid it down the other way.

I have a good sized bell pepper , i would have a hard time picking it because of the mud!!
The weeds are higher than the orka but as soon as it dries out some Tommy will use  the weed eater.
It might get dry enough for him to plow it one more time but we will have to wait and see.

Our 12th great grand

Hi friends!
Another rainy day, this is nine!!!
Our 12th great grands was born this morning!
Elijab Blake , 6lbs 13 ounces and 20 inches long.
At this moment there is not another one on the way that we know of.  The proud parents!!
The daddy is our Missy's youngest!

See what i mean about the fabric?  That white i got yesterday at a real good price because three yards had a seam down the edge.  Paid 3 dollars for three yards.

We had a DR. apt early this morning and went by Harbor Freight.

I have read about this blades so though i would try them and see if they are as good as the more costly ones.

While i was there i got me some clamps to hold my sandwich's  together when i spray baste.  The clamps were 99 cents and the blades we two for 1.98.  Can't beat that Price.

Hi friends!

Another rainy day!

This makes 8 days!!!!

I added another churn dash to it and it measures 27 by 27, needs one more!

I was busy quilting a quilt on my other quilting blog yesterday and this is all i got done to it.

I opened my Snow by Moda and was shocked.  Snow in the south is blinding white !
This looks more like snow ice cream!!!
Guess i will have to buy some white today!

Hi friends!

Rainy day[I am so tired of them}

Yesterday i asked my self what i wanted to sew on and myself said this!!!!

It;s going to be the center of my daughter's quilt.  I am going to put two more churn dash's on it before i am finished with the middle block of her quilt.  It will match her pillows.
I have got to get started on Mark's quilt next , so i will be working on two quilt's.

All my flowers are sitting down inside the back porch so maybe the storm's want destroy them.

Our Garden is water logged and we have lost one tomato plant  to it.  Gardens don't like being flooded.

If it doesn't stop soon every thing will rot and we want make much.

I was giving away what we hadn't eaten out of the freezer but Tommy said to wait because we might not have any thing to put back in it.

Prayers for Sandie , she is having surgery today.

Hi friends!
Another rainy day!
Last Saturday i started to change the bed and knew i Had to make a pillowcase.  Last week i just washed and dried the pillow case i had on Tommy's big pillow and put it back on.  Sew i made him one , of course he's comment was " Flowers?"

I made it a little big because they always shrink a little.  I like it but i love all kinds of beautiful fabric.

Yesterday we visited brother and sis and their grands went in swimming even through i had on a long sleeve shirt and sweatpants.

They didn't stay in long because the water was cold, too much rain and not enough sun.!!!

Pillow's for my baby!

Hi friends!

Rainy day!

Yesterday was my daughter's birthday., so i made two of these blocks and bought two queen sized pillow's

Backed them both with this floral pattern fabric.

And made two pillow's just alike!

After the race went off, by the way little E won!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think he is just the nicest one racing!!

Tommy always watches Nascar!!

We drove up to my daughter's and gave her her pillows.  I made them large because when you wash them they will shrink a little.  I am going to make her another quilt because the first one i made was her's and you know it wasn't great, the second one was for red haired daughter so i will be making her another this year too.

With the grands i still need to do 5 queen sized and two twins to finish up their's.

It may be next year before i get all those done.

Wow!! That's a lot of quilt's!

Beautiful day!
I finished this yesterday but it was to late to take our side pictures and i was afraid that i might not get the chance today.
But i did!!

It finished at 60" by 75 ". Before i washed it , it was 64" by 80"

Don't know whether the lose of inches is due to the Muslin backing are not.

I used two big pieces of muslin and sewed them together for the backing and that stripe for the binding.  Every thing on the front is the  best quilting cotton.  It has a lot of the same fabric that the first quilt had in it and a little more that i had found when i straighten my fabric.  Plus one more scrap that sis gave me.

Binding Lane's Quilt

Rainy day!
I got my binding sewed on, then you have to trim very carefully.

Trim good with your binding laying on top of your quilt like this.

This is where i started, before i went to bed i had two sides done!

Should finish it tonight and wash it in the morning.

I like that stripe for a binding for a child's quilt

Last Friday a week ago  i started this quilt for Mark's son Lane.

Then i didn't sew for a week except for letting Alisha add some little blocks on.

I started back working on it last Friday and it growed fast.

I sandwiched it Monday night and yesterday the girls did some of the quilting for me.  I quilted it in wavy lines so they could handle that.

Now all i like is sewing the binding on and trimming it and hand sewing the binding down and maybe i will have a Friday finish.

May Finish's

My first finish was Luke's quilt.My second one was my monthly entry in the Handmade Christmas wall hanging

And last was Jarrod's quilt that i finished  the day before my daughter went in the hospital and i didn't sew for a week!
 She went back to work today , i text her and she said she was ok
Mommy's always worry!!!\
I did finish two flimsy yesterday but that will go on June's.
 Yesterday My baby boy had a birthday, he's 44 now, i can say that because he went on a cruise
and is out at sea today.
Wont be getting this on his phone!!!
He said he would message me and his sis when he is in port near wi fi.
A great birthday and anniversary present.  They have been married 2 2 or  23 years.
Hubby just left to mow the back forty and made me look the screen door.
Said he wouldn't be here to protect me.  Bless him , he has been so worried that i would have another stroke with my daughter sick.
