Birthday Dinner and winnings

Hi friends!
I cooked dinner for my two kids yesterday, birthday dinner! Both of them have June birthdays.
I also gave my daughter her birthday quilt.

My son held up his sister's quilt!

My fence picture!

I made her a set of pillow cases to match!

I at least found a quilt pattern that Amy loved, when i showed her my tumbler quilt top , she wanted one just like that.
So i will be cutting some more tumblers to go with the ones i had left from that quilt top.

Sunday Prayers

Garden 6/11/2016

Menlo Q B's

Hi friends!
Don't forget the Followers Giveaway   HERE
Last night was our quilt meeting. We named our group Menlo Q B's.
We all tried to do a knot and then tried our hand out small quilting stitches.
Mine look like Morse code small , large, small large. But i intend to practice for the next month so maybe i will get better.

Every one was looking at Bonnie's quilt.
I worked with her for years but didn't quilt then so didn't know she quilted.

Her quilt!
She makes and quilt's each hexagon before adding them together.
A lady that i have forgotten her name made the next one.

Each one is very small!
That's a lot of work!
We had a great time. Have a great weekend

Daughter's Quilt

Hi friends!
Don't forgot my followers giveaway   HERE
Binding my daughter's quilt.
Her birthday was yesterday but i want see her til the weekend.

I have been working on binding it for a couple of days. Just work on it after i finish reading  my email at night or when the news is on in the after noon.
This is it spread out on the bed.

It has a real good drop on each side and is plenty long enough.
In a way i wish i hadn't used the yellow because it fades next to the other bright colors.
Not enough to take the whole thing apart!!!
My Rose of Sharron bush is blooming , my mother always called them holly hark.

The one i brought over here from my old house was 15 years old and died last year.
But i still have the two that sis gave me a few years ago. This one is doing good but Tommy's
 says i planted the other one on rock!
I am going to try to give it some tree food and see if that helps it, it's really short and it was planted at the same time as this one.

My New Quilt

Hi friends!

My new quilt i started last week.
These are additive!
What's so bad is i have almost that much tumbles still stacked up on my cutting table!
But am just making a lap quilt for another Aunt so i did white around these.

I cut the edges so i had a straight line to add to.

It's hard to see in this but i added a strip of colored two by 6 inch strips along that side of the white.
I stopped there because i didn't know if that was the look i wanted. But i don't want to get real big and i was going to add another white  strip after the colored ones.

You can see it a little better here.
It doesn't show up much on that quilt i have on my bed.
Another one almost ready for quilting.

Daughter's quilt

Got the quilt quilted !
It's big!
Nearly a king.

I quilted it with stars and loops.

Then i trimmed it off, , when i turned it over i found some extra sewed into the quilting so i had to take that out.
But i should be through by Sunday.
Her birthday is tomorrow.
Didn't feel good yesterday so didn't even turn the light on in my sewing room.
But i did go into the back porch and brought some more things and pilled then on my cutting table to go through today.
I keep finding fabric in my totes!

Garden 6/4/2016

Hi friends!
We got a small shower Tuesday and a hard rain for a few minutes on Wednesday night this week , shower are forecast for the weekend. I hpe no hail but we need the rain. Weeks of sprinkles is all we have had.

Friday Finish, Olivia's blanket.

Hi friends!
I finish our next g-g's blanket last night.
Demi's shower is the 11th so glad i  am  finished with it.

It's got a little of every color in it.

I have made all the grands and now all the great grands one.

I now have a big bag full of things for Demi.
May see if i can find something i have never made before to add to it.

New Quilt

Hi friends!
I spent some time cutting tumblers!
So glad i bought this ruler.

My first strip!
I am taking every scrap smaller than a fat quarter that is big enough for this and cutting them up.

These are so much fun to do! I am trying to do light then dark!

But i need to get back to my daughter's quilt , her birthday is coming up fast!

Memorial Day

Hi friends!
Memorial Day was spent with my brother , sister and all brothers family plus.
Nephew is in a band so some of them were there.

This looks natural doesn't it?
But nephew doesn't have any kids except for his sister's .
That little cutie didn't meet strangers, she was happy no matter who had her.

My brother has build a porch on the back so we have a place to eat.

Tommy and Howard, my brother, could talk for hours.
We had a great time as always.
And it was just cloudy enough to keep it cooled down for us.
