Brad's and D.J.'s quilt

A limb for Brad's and D.J.'s quilt
I backed it with this fabric because i didn't want red to show through. And i am just about out of black!

I laid this out on my quilt but didn't like it because it didn't go with my other limbs.

See what i mean!

I think now i need another limb on the right side.

And maybe a couple of these!  So people will know it's a tree!

Old Quilt Tops

Hi friends!
Beautiful day!
These are some old quilt tops i found here when we moved in.
I thought Tommy's mother had made them but i think she always had a machine so now i think they may have been made by Tommys grandmother.  They are all hand stitched but these are older and falling apart.

They are beautiful old quilt tops but not big enough for a queen sized bed.  I had though i would add a border and quilt them but they are full of holes.

The other one has been repaired with a sewing machine.

This is it, a beautiful pattern that i have seen lately so it's not new.
But its full of seams that are open.

See they just came un-sewed. I washed these on gentle when we first moved here.

Someone sewed over a seam that came apart here with a sewing machine.

This is the same pattern that i have seen on many blogs and if i am right it was made maybe in the 30ths or 40ths.
Maybe earlier than that because Tommy's grandmother died in the fifties.

Brad's and D.J.s quilt

I added the sides to Brad and D.J.s quilt!

I still haven't sewed this down yet!

This is how i started the base of the tree just couldn't find the picture showing it after.

You can see it better here! It measures  80 by 91 so far.
I still may add some more roots on.

Mark's and Wayne's pillows and fabric for Catylen's quilt

Got this in the mail this morning for Catylen's and Travis's quilt.
She wanted tractors!!!!
Think i will make it using the tractor as the center of each block.
This will be the last grand kids quilt, i think of course i am still working on two more Grands quilt right now.
So it should be done for Christmas .Hopefully!!!!
I am behind on birthdays, Kristain's birthday was last Sat. and i just finished Marks and Wayne's.

 

Their birthdays were in Oct.

They will problemly fight over the Georgia one because they have been winning games and the falcons haven't!

I just hope they like them!!

Birthday Giveaway

Hi friends!
Beautiful day!
This is my birthday month!
Instead of waiting until my birthday [24th] when everyone one is busy with cooking i am having it the first two weeks in Nov.  By the way i will be 73 years old.
It will run two weeks from the third until the 17th.
That way who ever wins will have these great fat quarters of Christmas fabric to play with and  plenty of time to make something before Christmas with them.

Three of them are angels.  Of course i will add to it before the two weeks are gone, i always do.
The other two are from my early birthday present to myself.

I had a large cut of this and used it to make ornaments for my Christmas tree. I love the angels under that.

That's cherubs  on the bottom One comment telling me how you follow!!!
.Love these two and some one can make something  with them.

Fall, You'll

Hi friends!
No snow here!
The trees are just getting colorful.

That Bradford pear is just changing on top.
It did that a few weeks ago and the leaves fell off so now it's tiying again.
Temps down in the 30ths last night.

My poor little rose!

All of this got cut down when they put siding on the house!

My other Bradford pears are just starting to.

September finish's

My finishes for this month are very low, with every thing else going on in our life's.

Of course Tuckers quilt and Halloween mat.

This one i forgot about for September so i can claim it this month!

This is my last thing i did this month!
Not as much as i usually do but we had a busy month so not as much sewing.

Halloween Mat

Hi friends!
Beautiful cold day!
My Halloween mat!
Love this fabric!  When i made it yesterday i took pictures of every step but in trying to get rid of blurry pictures I lost them all!!!
Last year before Christmas we had my kids for Christmas and later we just sitting we were so tired when they brought the babies over, and i took pictures of them and one of them was playing with my camera and all my pictures i had made that day vanished.  The buttons are so easy even a child can use them!

It's sitting by the door just waiting for a great grand, Hopefully some will come. We don't get much since they started the Halloween walk in town.

The back is Muslim and lightly quilted.   With black binding.
This is the first Halloween mat i have made and that was because of that great fabric.

See how the flash makes it look like a candle was lit inside of the pumpkins. I think sis gave me this fabric.

Sewing Machine Pad

Hi friends!
Cloudy day!
I had been wanting to make me a sewing machine pad for a while now.
This took 1/2 yard of that blue
a fat quarter of the Burgundy  , it shows red here but that's my camera. and some scrap pieces of battening.
I used a left over scrap of baby blue for the binding.

I used the sew to the back and pull over way of binding and it didn't work to well for me.
But i just need more practice.
 If I had had done this for someone  else i would have done it over or done it the other way.   But for me to use i just left it like that!

Now my things are right there when i need them.

This is more true to color than the first ones were.
I just loosely quilted the part over the pockets and sewed seams to separate the pockets
