Yesterday

Hi friends!
Have you ever had one of those days when you didn't want to do anything?
I opened my fat quarter bundle that i got from Walmart!
Beautiful collars!
They do have some good fabric!
When the mail ran Tommy brought me in a package.

I had won it from" seamslikeadreams " Kate or Elizabeth sent me a email last week saying i was one of the lucky winners!
I like winning magazines so i can see if i would be interested in getting them myself.
So far the 20% off i get with the one magazine i get has them all beat!

Made us some Cheese muffins, i had seen this recipe and wanted to try it so i did. I had some left over cheese that needed using up and they are pretty good.
I made Tommy a splenda peach cobbler too but most of it is gone!

Pillowcases

Hi friends!
When i bought that 6 yards of calico i intended to make us a set of pillow cases to.
So Monday night i found it , i had put every thing up for Easter remember so it has been lost since then.
There wasn't enough left to make two whole pillow cases so i went looking for something that would go with it.

I settled  on the purple that i also found when looking, didn't think i had any.
I also had a fat eight in lite green and it matched the green in the calico , and there is a little purple to in the chalcio !
 Best i could do.

I pinned it up and the first one came out great!
However , it was getting late when i started on the second and after taking it all apart once and then sewing it up wrong i put it up for later.

This is the first one !
The body was a inch short so i cut a couple of inches more for the border..
Yesterday i ripped it out again and put it back together and made the other.

Now i have my set!!

Put them on the bed last night. Plenty big enough!

Tommy had a snake chasing him last night in his dreams!
Maybe it was the new pillow case?

Stars

Hi friends!
My second block!
I have been wanting to make some of these reversed stars or white stars for a while.

Trying a different color and it looks pretty good!

I told you i had ordered a  UBA cord for my camera and i am just now getting it! It's been a month since i ordered it . 
It came all the way from China!
I refused to order from the same place because the one i ordered a few months ago quilt working.  I think things should work for years not months!
Our country's  quality has really gone downhill these last 20 years.
We used to put out products you could be proud of but not any more.
Well , i want bore you on that, not much we can do about it!
I am going to get busy making a few more of those stars and adding them to my quilt top.

Quilt top is growing!

Hi friends!
 I made six of these blocks , Sewed a strip of plain white and added these above it and white above the blocks.

We went yesterday to buy groceries and we bought Tucker a Sponge bob movie. Later i got a text from Daughter saying it would be Friday before she needed us to keep him.
We got up to rain today and the weather man says rain all this week through Sunday!
Just what we need , more rain!
When i woke up yesterday i knew what the next row would be!!

I added the white and started a row of scraps!

And another, just so i could start a row of these.

Maybe today i will get these done!

The next row of blocks!

I am thinking about surrendering them with white to make them pop. I think that would work because it already has white around the stars.
I am enjoying messing with this, not really good at it yet!

They are ten inches each .

Progress

Hi friends!
Tommy cut grass yesterday so i got some good sewing time in.

Got a row added and decided to add to more.

I needed balancing so i added another.

And one more!

I am thinking another row of blocks, just have to find one that i can use the most scraps with.
At least i am getting rid of a lot of scraps that i have spent week cutting.
Suppose to keep out boy today so want get much done in the quilting dept. Just got a message from Jess and she said he was with his father today.

Starting a new Quilt

Hi friends!
I found some more scraps!!!
A whole bag full to go with what i had already  been using on.

A big bag full of bags of scraps.
So i guess a scrap quilt is  what i will do , maybe  enough for 2 scrap quilts.
I have been dragging since Easter so i needed some mindless sewing any way.

The first row of scraps!
Next will be a row of scrap blocks!

This one will have more blocks in it i think, as many as i can get out of scraps.

This one doesn't show up as well but it goes in to.

Tucker's car pouch

Hi friends!
When i was cleaning up for Easter i moved a lot of fabric off the book case so it wouldn't topple over and fall on some one.
This was on the top when i got through so i keep looking at it  thinking that would make a great pouch for Tucker to carry his cars.

So yesterday i made him one!

Cars on the inside and outside!
Maybe we will get to keep him some this week so i can give it to him.
Mostly resting up from three days of cleaning and going but i will start another quilt soon. Another scrap quilt!
We were sitting out side drinking our coffee this morning because it was 65 outside.
While sitting out there the wind got up and our pine trees pollen made a cloud  that you could see flying off !
No wonder we get sick this time of year!

Our Good Friday!

Hi friends!
Yesterday Sis and I went to Chattanooga and hit Jo Anns and the puppy shop for her dogs. I had read on some blog that they carried  crushed Walnut shells.  I finally found some and this was the
smallest bag!

It's 10 lbs.  That will make a lot of pin cushions.  But they say that it sharpens your pins and mine were getting dull.

Son and Daughter in love gave me some gift cards for Jo Ann's last year , so i got me one of these , Omnigrid ruler grips. So far i love it, made the pin cushions above last night using it. It was cheaper at Jo Ann's than it was at Walmart, plus i had a 30 & off of total order coupon!
Got more scissors because i am always losing mine!  These are Singer , i doubt they will be as good as my Fiskars! My pins have kinda run out so i got some more.

The Jo Ann's there only lets you use one coupon  when you use that one, which i though sucked!!!!!
Time to clean and start cooking for Tomorrow friends!

Daughter's quilt

Hi friends!

This is the fabric that i have bought for my daughters birthday quilt. I got the blues from 'connecting threads' and the white MODA from Craftsy on sale.
I am going to try to make a big lone star quilt in blues and a white background for a queen sized bed.
This i will be working on after i finish the quilt i am working on right now on my other blog.   ASIMPLYGREAT
Hope some of you come over to watch my fight to get this quilt made..
Right now i am still working on my 'disappearing hour glass quilt so it will be a few more days or maybe a couple of weeks before i start this quilt.
And it will be a fight!!!!!!
