Shania Faith's Quilt

Hi friends!
I am doing a little Christmas sewing as i go, not going to show much!

This i made for Shania Faith. Kari's and Eli's soon to be baby girl.

So far just made two.

I used Minky on the back of each.
Yesterday i bought some  flannel to make some more.

And some blanket binding for her as nice big blanket.

Lots of cute fabric for burp cloth's and bibs.
Of course i am making her a quilt.

This is just the start of her quilt. Not a very good picture!

Fabric!

Hi friends!
I am lucky!
I won my second giveaway from http://maureencracknellhandmade.blogspot.com/
A couple of years ago i won some fabric from one of her giveaways, made a quilt and gave it away to some one who was sick, and a couple of weeks ago i won  30$ from Canton Village Quilt Works and Jackie on  Maureen's  blog.
 Right before Tommy was to have surgery so i waited until after ward to order.
It came today! That was fast!
I used to think there was no sense in entering one of  her giveaways because she has thousands entering.
And then some blogger that i followed posted about winning  from her so i kelp entering.
Maureen is the sweetest girl and Jackie's shop is great.

These three half yards i got for me to play with.

The blue is for a quilt i just started and the pink is for Gracie's little sister to be.
I am using this charm pack in the baby's quilt to.

This is " Christine" Eleanor Burns ,  Sugar Berry.
I fell in love with this beautiful fabric.
We went to have the staples out, she took half of them out so we go back next week for her to take out the rest.
Our Dr. wasn't going to be there until Monday so we still know nothing about his labs.
She told him he should be able to start cutting grass after we see her next week. Slowly!  As if he knows what that is!

Another quilt

Hi friends!
I am going to be working on two quilts for a while.
That rag quilt and this 'x and o's or hugs and kiss's quilt.
I made one before and loved it but gave it to  some one that i felt needed it more than i did.

I have ordered some fabric to go with it because i didn't have  anything but a fat quarter, should be here by the weekend.
I also ordered some for a baby quilt that i am going to make for a g-g that is due late this year but we are having her shower in Oct. before the Holiday rush.
So i must get busy, at least i am sewing some. .
Told Hubby that he couldn't drive for two weeks after his surgery but may not be able to keep him off his lawn mower after that.
That's what they told me years ago when i had surgery.
He stays up so much that his back is giving him fits, but we will talk to the nurse when she takes the staples out and changes his bandage to see if that's normal.
He has a rather large band-aid on his stomach  .
At least that what it looks like, i am sure it's not a band-aid.
Got to get something done,

Yesterday

Hi friends!
I did a little sewing last night!

Not a whole lot , but we have been so tired since we got home from the hospital.
It's hard to get back into our routine because Hubby can't lift any thing and i have to make sure he doesn't.
These next 3 weeks will be hard on Hubby , he is the kind that cuts his grass in spots two times a week.
He told me yesterday he didn't think it would hurt him to ride around on his lawn mower!
He tried that after his surgery on his neck and it put him back in the bed!

I did get three pieces sewed together!
Hope to do more today.

Today

Hi friends!
At Jessie's  shower i gave my two grands with birthdays their birthday pillows.
This is Wayne and Alisha, tow of my daughters babies.

 This is Sloppy Floyd State Park, located in our beautiful county.

That's Lane on the bridge, I just count him and his brother as grands but really the are g-grands.They are the same age as some of our grands. 

Tommy is still very sore , he don't want to take pain meds, but at night he has to to sleep.

He has to go back one day this week to get his staples took out.

I am not looking forward to that.

Don't know what my next project will be but i am leaning toward this!

Sis had given me a big bag of battening and , I just put it up , while looking for some flannel for next g-g i looked in that bag and found this.

It's a rag quilt!

So guess i will work on it for use a warm throw for the living room.

Always wanted to make one some day!

We are home from the hospital. The Dr. said it wasn't cancer, it was GIST. a Gist tumor.

Friday finish and Shower

Hi friends!
The mothers gave a shower and cook out for Jessie and Richard.
So i gave them their quilt.

But since i got windows 10 i can't down load any pictures!
I was going to change my lap top over to , but have decided not to.

I used a full sized sheet for the backing and some teddy bear fabric to make it big enough.
I have lots of pictures from the sgower and if i came find them i will show you tomorrow.

Sunday Prayers

Hubby's birthday and my July finish's

Hi friends!
My Hubby's birthday was yesterday!
 He got to spend over three hours waiting on them to register him for pre-op on his birthday!!!
I tried to get him to go and eat a t-bone afterward but he said we would wait until after the surgery and celebrate his birthday and our 18th  wedding  anniversary then.
It will be a while before he will feel like a t-bone!
I am posting these two quilts for my July finishes .
I finished one last night but it's in the washer now and want be presented until tomorrow so i am saving it for next month.

This is my other big finish!
The top one is my daughter's and lower one for my step daughter.
I just  love  my barns and stars!!!!
She  , my step ,suggested I sale them but you know how hard it is to get for them enough to cover the fabric.
Maybe if they had to buy the fabric they would understand!
I had a few small finishes.

Some zipper pouch's for our trip to Fla, by the way the surgernt said we didn't have to do that!
1500.00 dollars down the drain!!!!
He had enough info with the other  tests!!!!
Oh well, it's peanuts to them.
Just not to us!!!

Binding!

Hi friends!
Binding their quilt.

I worked on it a good while yesterday.

There's my needle!
Should finish up tonight sometime.

We had company yesterday!
They had taken Clair to get her teeth cleaned and she had stickers all over one of her legs.

She walked very carefully so they wouldn't fall off.

Lola is to young to go!
We spent 3 hours registering for his surgery this morning!.
Got there 20 minutes before his apt. and was their for 3 hours and 20 minuites!
At Mayo hospital it took 10 minutes!
I am tired!

Jessie's and Richard's quilt

Hi friends!
I am quilting their quilt.

Had to smooth the back and get the wrinkles out first.
I have tried to spray the back but i just get bigger wrinkles.
Sense it's their wedding quilt i am quilting it with hearts.

I just like part of the border and i need to take out one bit of quilting and redo that , Maybe i can get the binding started today

Jessie's and Richard's quilt

Hi friends!
I sandwiched their quilt but couldn't start quilting because the bobbin case on my Brother 1500 broke!

At the end i liked about 4 inches so i will have to add battening before i quilt it. And it's queen sized battening.
But look what came this morning!

So now i can finish her quilt and quilt it .  Hope i get through with it by Sunday to carry it to her and her new hubby.

This came to!
I broke my small cutter that  i really loved and used  all the time.
So i ordered me a new one and got some kona white because i use it all the time in my quilts. Going to stay at home today .
We went to a sergeant yesterday to set up the surgery , ran some errands and bought some groceries.
So i didn't get any sewing done!
Going to do some today!
