This is what I made for our hop.
I finished the top last week end. It's a wheel chair quilt for our annual visit to a nursing home.
Tommy has family in the one we are visiting in Dec.. Don't know how Mary is kin but she is and I am making this one for her. They are suppose to be about 36 by 45, this one is a tiny bit bigger but not much.
I sand-witched it Monday and Quilted it this afternoon. Then while the news was on I bind it. Before I quilted it I starched and Ironed all the wrinkles out of the back and front.
My other quilt top is this
This is a quilt top that was given to me by the son of a very dear friend after she died.
Don't know if I will make a quilts from it or not. Right now I am just holding it.
I was told it was a school house block but when I entered Quilt house block into google this was shown!
I am having a giveaway

The wheelchair quilt is such a great idea and so useful. I love your schoolhouse piece.
How thoughtful of you to think of a wheelchair quilt when making your house project. I love when a quilt has a purpose. You were very lucky to be given that house quilt. I think I knew it as a schoolhouse block, perhaps it is a little different, and always intended to make on as I am a retired teacher. Janice.snell@gmail.com
I love the idea of a wheelchair quilt. It's a little bit of home in the perfect size.
So wonderful that your friends family thought of you as the keeper of one of her quilt projects. Great job on the wheelchair quilt. Such a warm and caring gift.
The wheel chair quilt is an amazing idea and will be well received!
The idea of a wheelchair quilt is excellent!
Love the quilt and the fact that it is wheel chair...
Both your quilts are really pretty! The idea for a wheelchair quilt is wonderful. Thanks, Barbara, for sharing your amazing quilts and hopping with us.

Lovely quilt for your relative. I am sure she will love it! You did a beautiful job.
You made two wonderful house quilts. Thanks for sharing with us and sharing your quilting skills with Mary, too.
How sweeet of you to make a lap quilt for your family friend in a nursing home. I worked in a home for 7 years waaaay back when and there were very few special lap quilts for the residents. Most were ugly patchwork made of dark colors...not very uplifting! Perhaps there are more than one schoolhouse block?
Thanks for sharing your wheel chair quilt. What a good idea! :) Pat
What a wonderful gift the wheelchair quilt is. Great idea for a house quilt.
Wheelchair quilts : what an awesome idea! Thanks for the inspiration! It will make someone very happy.
The wheelchair quilt came out nice. I too know the second one as schoolhouse.
Lots of quilts got renamed making it confusing sometimes when you are looking for a specific pattern.
What a beautiful quilt for a very beautiful purpose. A wonderful idea. Thanks!
I like the lap quilt. It is so thoughtful of you to take a lap quilt when you visit. I am compelled to ask if you ever use any other fabric in place of batting for your quilts? Batting is pretty expensive for all the quilts you make and I just wonder if you have a solution for that expense.
xx, Carol

You must keep busy with your charity quilting--nice to meet you.

The wheelchair quilt is a wonderful gift for someone using a wheelchair. The home on the quilt is a great touch. I love the schoolhouse quilt. It is what I know as the schoolhouse block. I love it and want to make a quilt with those blocks. Thanks for participating in the hop and being generous with a giveaway.
Wheelchair quilts are real treasures for people who use wheelchairs. We quilters know we like to give quilts that will be appreciated, and these quilts surely will be. Bless your heart for not forgetting those who are in the nursing homes.
Our guild combined the wheelchair quilt with a fidget quilt by making the first 3 rows with fidget items. They also made the bottom area taper to 27" so it would not catch in wheels. One member added velcro ties at top to keep it from sliding down.
What a lovely gift, I' hope Mary loves her new house quilt.
What nice house quilts! Thanks for sharing.
