Yesterday

Hi friends! 

Got my seventh wheelchair quilt sandwiched.

That's the only one I got sandwiched.

Got it starched and ironed on both sides.

Got it quilted  but got slowed down when looking for something to bind it with.

While Tommy was doing this.

We had a leak in our Delta{Lifetime guarantee} sprayer hose. I sent them a message with pictures but that was last week and they sent me a e-mail saying some one would get in touch....waited and waited. We gave up and bought another.

Good thing we did because when he took off the faucet it was leaking to.

But now we are drip free!

Thank goodness!

Package stills says life time guarantee but they are now made of plastic!

We sewers know about plastic!!!!

Amy's Quilt

Hi friends! 

I was thinking 12 inch blocks might be to small but it looks like it will be just right.

And I though red but now I am thinking yellow for the center and for the front joining since I am doing this qaug. I think yellow is a better fit. A king is a lot easier to manage making it that way.

I cut four of the off white. Something just keep pointing me toward the off white and Julie Rose got her grandmother quilts out and she though off white would fit better.

Then I though of the quilts made by my mother in law and she didn't use bright white . I think hers were more 40 and 50's but during that time people used what ever they could get, skirts, shirts even dress pants.

My first mother in law made us a quilt out of dress pants with no battening but it was really warm, I would still have it if oldest son hadn't took it camping and some one else took it home with them.

Left a pile of rags for him to bring home.

Wouldn't surprise me if he gave it to them. He would give anything to some one that asked.

Weekend

Hi friends!

Been making petals this past weekend.

This is a slight off white !

This is a bright white! 

Trying to decide which to use.

In the 1930's was the white's bright or a little subdued?

Amy wanted a thirty's quilt so I got all thirty's  reproduction fabrics.

I have asked Google but no answer!

I stumped Google!

Sis has been on vacation.

She brought me back this! I take a Turmeric  curcumin capsule every day but this is the tea with black pepper , suppose to help with pain.

It's a yellow tea!  

Today I am getting out side and walking!

When I don't walk for a few days my hip hurts and keeps me awake at night.

And It hurt yesterday and all night!

Getting old is not for Sissie's!

Hi friends! 

Besides running around yesterday I got this up to 37 by 47.

Suppose to be 36 by 45 so this is good.
They all shrink just a little when washed!

I sandwiched this a few weeks ago but my battening didn't go all the way to the bottom so Yesterday I fixed that. Guess I didn't measure it right.

Now it's ready to be quilted.

My Oats in a microwave bowl holder. These  things come in handy. I think I made every one in the family one a  year or two year ago for Christmas.

Think I am going to make a big pot of soup today it's so dreary and rainy today.

Damp chill!!!!

Number 7

Hi friends!

Yesterday I worked on this for a little while.

Since I have so many already cut I might as well use them up.

It's a little long across, suppose to be 36 inch's so I took off  one of the  side rows.

That's better , still need a little to get to 45 inch's long. Guess I will finish it today some time.

Need to find out if cousin Mary is in this unit , If she isn't I will make another for her.

Anna's Quilt

Hi friends!

I hate black because It catch's every string in a mile radius.

This is one side but I had to buy some more black for the other side and pillow shams.

This was a far as it went on the other side.

I added one then decided to make up another.

After adding on that last row and a three inch strip , I think I can call this top finished!

So it goes on the pile to be sandwiched this weekend.

Today is ironing day!

So it will be nice and smooth to sandwich.

Another Tumbler

Hi friends!

Since I had plenty of these cut , I cut a few lights and am going to do another tumbler quilt for wheelchairs.

I need to sew a few more up an maybe I will have a sandwiching party this week end.

Hopefully two large and maybe two small to put together.

Going to have to work hard if I do.

I found this at Mc Kays when we went last.

Had never even heard of this title!

At the front it says that Agatha wrote this as a play and another author set it more to novel form. They were asking 5.95 for it so It must be fairly recent , like in the last thirty years.

In 1997! so I was right!

The wind blowed here all day yesterday with chicken house smells all day!

I mostly read all week end , finished four books! And played with blocks !

Started some thing  for Christmas last night!

She sent me another template for the smaller flower petals . After I lost the other one she sent me.

It's in my sewing room some where!!!

Tommy worked hard Monday pressure washing the porch and placing the furniture and then it rained all day Tuesday, so we couldn't sit out their much.

My flowers are still doing great, sure do hate to bring them in next week but frost is getting closer every night.

Need to go start another wheelchair quilt.

Got one border done and the other almost but will have to have some more fabric for the pillow shams.

I will go through all my stuff today and see if I missed a pieces of black fabric before I buy more.

My sewing room needs cleaning up really bad.

I kind of skipped over it cleaning before our company so today is the day to clean.

I may get lost in there!

Family Reunion 2018

Hi friends!
Yesterday we had our yearly family reunion. From the right Inman, Tommy ,Missy, Standing Roxie Kim, Bobby @ Eddie[Standing] and Roger and Beulah on the left.
We are all getting old so just hoping we can keep doing this for a few more years.

Tommy's sister and her hubby.The only kids of ours that came was Kim, Missy and Bobby.
Our out of town company was cousin Roxie , her hubby Inman and her brother Eddie who drove all the way from  Texas.
We had a great time.

We were so glad to see Eddie ! We almost lost him to cancer last year.

Another Wheelchair Quilt

Hi friends!

At our meeting last Thursday we did a count of how many quilts we would have for the nursing home.

We had 25 nearly done counting my five but we need 33 so I held my hand one to do two more.

This is one of them.

This fabric is cheater fabric! So It's a easy make.

Still got one more to come up with!

Maybe two If Tommy's cousin isn't in the wing 

Got it sandwiched yesterday!

Then I ironed it.

All I need now is to quilt and then bind. Now I have to come up with another one.  I may have enough left of this fabric to cobble together one of these.

Cleaning and cooking day today! Our family reunion is tomorrow.

Hi friends!
We had a new Girl last night , Imogene and She and I have been talking for a while. Glad she joined us. Her sister is a good friend of many of us.

Liz brought a very pretty quilt top.

Ivanell made this before she started having eye trouble.

This was made by Faye. Charlotte showed her how when we first started our group and she took off with it.

Then we had snacks since our Nov. meeting will be giving out the quilt of valor. And Dec. we are going to the nursing home.
