Michael's quilt

Hi friends!
Cloudy day!
I put a 4 inch border on the sides with the car fabric and a 2 inch one on the top and bottom, just have scraps left of that.
I don't have enough of the blue to do another border so i will get some next week.
I may put a border of white next while i wait for the blue.
It needs at least 15 more inches on the sides to be big enough.
It's plenty long enough but i will just put thin borders on the ends.
I am going to change the subject now!!!
A lot of great blogger just have one way of following on their blogs. I have a old DT that just lets me  follow by gfc every once in a long while and if that's the only way i can follow you  i can't.
I think every one needs 2 or more ways for people to follow.
And saying that i just realized that my other two blogs doesn't have enough either.
One has two but the other only has one, I think. I will have to fix that !!

Donna's Guilt Sampler

I made mine  with flea market fancy and a solid green.  Not perfect but i like it!

Great get together.

Hi friends!
Rainy day!
 We had the best time yesterday.
Cousin's from Texas and from Blue Ridge came down and we eat and sat around talking and chatching up on the last year.  We always get together when cousin come from Texas to stay with Roxie a week for vacation.  Red haired girl always get off work to help out with the cooking.
 Usually our baby girl is off and come's and helps to but she had to work and we really missed her but sent her a plate.
Cousin's son and his wife brought pictures of their wedding right before christmas last year and we enjoyed seeing them and pictures of grand kids where show all around by all

It was nice yesterday cool cloudy but no rain until everyone left about 7 oclock
We just had a really good day !!!
The sun has just come out.

UFO

Hi friends!
Cloudy!
This is a UFO.  I made it months ago , i bought this great flannel from joanns and it feel amazing .So soft and a baby would love it.
At the time i didn't check for strech and had to take the back off and turn it around.  Then i couldn't find anything that i though would be good for the binding.
Well i cleaned up some in my bookcase where most of my fabric is and found this.
It's amazing what you find when you clean up!!!I think it looks good on it.  Red haired girl liked it too.
She was here sat. when i was working on it.
I am going to list it in my shop later this week after we have our company.
Well that's one UFO down and at least two more to go.
If i looked i would find more so we will just leave it at 2.
Cooking and cleaning going on today.

Michaels quilt

Hi friends!
Beautiful day!
Finished that block i was working on yesterday.
I think this will work just fine!!!
Now to decide on how to put them together and how to border them?
I have plenty of the bleeding red but i washed it so it should be fine. Not much blue  left but maybe a red border and a small blue one.  I will have to think about that!

In that last picture that blue block stick out like a sore thumb.  It doesn't look so bad from this point.
As you can see it's long and doesn't like much being a queen sized.
Just needs some on the sides.
Well i will think on it and do something soon.
Yesterday all i got done in the cleaning department was scrub the bath. Cleaned the floor with a soap pad , tiring to get the hair spray off the tile.  My body is complaining loudly today!!!  I can't get down to the floor so i bend at the waist and all my blood goes to my head.  Maybe my brain needed the extra blood!!!!

Last block?

Hi friends!
Beautiful day!
We went to walk this morning and walked 2 miles.  Hubby couldn't walk this spring because it was so steamy.So it had been a year since we had walked.
All that rainy weather this spring didn't mix with COPD
I don't know weather it will be the last block  or not.  One is   blue on blue and it want show up like i want it to but i will lay them out and see how it looks then decide.
I still like the last round on this block . Tell you tomorrow what i decide.
Still cleaning this house, cleaned two rooms carpet yesterday  and i am going to clean the blinds in the sun room today and clean the bathroom really good.
Last night i took every lid out of my stove and cleaned the drawer out and washed all the lids and cleaned the oven.  Of course i will mess it up cooking next week.
I climbed all over our bedroom cleaning all the what not's and pictures.
I can feel it today.!!
Getting old maybe?

Mug Rug

Hi friends! 

Beautiful day!

I made hubby a waterproof mug rug yesterday so maybe he want mess up my coffee table.

I won a scrap of plastic coated fabric from Silly Mama and had been wondering what to do with it.

I backed it with a yellow dot that o got somewhere.  All i had was a fat quarter of it.
It looks like a child's thing but it will do the trick and maybe he want spill coke on the table.  All that water that drips on the table can ruin it.  Only my grands can ruin our tables not us!!!!

Jessica's quilt

Hi friends
 Beautiful day!
That's my beautiful Jessica and her boyfriend Dustin, they came and eat breakfast with us this morning and i gave her her quilt.
I think she liked it !  She said 'this thing is huge'

I had to hang it over the back so it wouldn't drag.
She wanted pink and yellow so that's what i made her.
I wanted to make all my grands something to keep them warm so when i am gone that will always say' grand maw or memaw made that for me'.  Some call me grand maw and some call me memaw[ thanks Michael]
We have some of the most beautiful and the smartest grand Kids in the world!!!

I  had to wash it twice because i re sprayed it with basting spray.

Jessica's and Michaels quilt's

Hi friends!

Beautiful day!

I made another block for Michael's quilt and worked on my P J bottoms so they will be ready for cold weather.

I finished up Jessica's quilt and told her to come and get it.  They will be here for breakfast tomorrow and get her quilt.
I will post pictures tomorrow if nothing happens.

Glad i got my Janome back but am using my Kenmore for piecing blocks.
You can't beat the stitches on the Kenmore.

MY KENMORE

Hi friends!
Beautiful day after a rainy night!
The top picture is me sewing the small borders  for my christmas quilt.
I have been seeing a lot of long pin cushions on blogs and decided to make me one for my machine. Unlike other's i made mine to not match my cover..  What i wanted was one really near  for putting pins.
I have pincushions on my ironing board by my machine and on the table next to where i sit and hand sew.
But the one by my machine keeps getting lost!!!
So this should take care of that!!!
I made my kenmore that cover so now i am going to show you a picture of it.

I guess it's mine , sis brought it up for me to sew on years ago and i keep it when i got my new one because plastic tares up so she finally bought me the book.
It's has great stitches but likes to come unthreaded to often.  If i would make sure their is lots of thread hanging each time i start up it wouldn't do that .

Michaels and Jessica

Hi friends!
Beautiful day!
I made another block yesterday for Michaels quilt .  That makes 5 out of six blocks.  But there's no red in this block.  May have to make another.  I will have to make the sixth block because of all the pink ones.That will make 2 more for me to make before i put this flimsy together.
Washed and basted Jessica's quilt.
Hope to quilt it today.
You can see her backing faded a little.
Thank goodness i got my Janome back!!!

Michael's and Jessica's quilt

One of these is  just  a red pinwheel and the other is a red with white dots pinwheel.
That's right i made two yesterday!
That make four made and two to go.

I got in a hurry and clipped my finger with the rotary cutter.   Not a bad cut but a bandage makes it hard to feel your seams and make your points just right.
You don't want to get blood on your quilt!

I finally got all the stitching out of Jessica's quilt and can take the back off and wash it and put it back together to quilt it .  Yes my Janome will do that!

Another Block

Hi friends!
Beautiful day!
Another block that i made yesterday.  I though it would be easier ... Not.
It might have been but i keep sewing them upside down!!!
I just noticed that this block has a h in the middle of the star.   That's great because his middle name starts with a H.
So theirs always a light some where!
I don't think he reads this because he is a third year collage man.  To busy !!!!
So maybe it will be a complete surprise on Thankgiving when he get it.
I am going to give my taterbug hers then too. Haven't even started hers yet!
If i keep working on this i should have it ready to quilt some time next week.

Star surrond block

I worked all afternoon yesterday on this block.   Didn't have a pattern to go by but saved a picture and printed it off so i could look at placement and made it!!!
This is what i am making Michael's quilt with.

thought i would show you another block for my christmas quilt.  This will be beautiful when i get through with it.
Got to get to work because i went and got my Janome today!!

PINK! and michaels block

Hi friends!
Beautiful but cool!
See the amount of pink in that water.
I washed all the red but will have to get some color catcher before i can use two of my blocks.
A couple of blogger's sent me a message about color catcher so i will get it and give it a try .
It's great to have all these knowledge sharing friends.
That just about made me sick!!! Pray that the color catcher gets rid of that pink.

I made another block for Michael's quilt using another red.
Called the man about my Janome and he said he would call me as soon as he got thou with her.
They have been on vacation for two weeks.
