Yesterday

Hi friends!

Beautiful cool day!

No sewing yesterday, we had a trip to the dentist planned.

Alisha had company so she came along to.   Alisha is the one making funny faces!!!!

I told her i was going to blow it up and put it on my blog and facebook!!

Only have to take one of the three back next week when i take the older ones.

Their mother came after them and i cooked supper for my baby girl.

We had a good visit but i am worried about her.  She takes to much after her mother, doesn't sleep.
She will be up all night and go to work.
And believe me she tries to sleep.
I told her to go back to her Dr. and talk to him.
I just hope she does soon!

Worked on her quilt Monday, got to figure out how this will go together on the top and bottom. Made a few more of these for the next round

Mark's Quilt

All i like on this top is the lightning bolts but i think i will quilt it and then add them, one for each point of the star

New Bag

Hi friends!
Beautiful day!
I made me a fall bag for later on in the year.

This is the other side, it's not real wintry but i think it will do.

I made the bottom a couple of inches longer to give me more room for things.

Now that i have made two , i need to find another pattern for a different bag.

It will have to be big enough for me to carry books and maybe a camera.

I don't travel light even if it's just a trip to town.

Our Garden, July 12th

Machine cover

Hi friends!

Beautiful day!

Big brother needed a cover!

I have been just hanging a piece of fabric over her.

So i found a orange dot that i didn't think i would ever use in a quilt and some battening and some binding

I crossed hatched quilted it..

Pressed it good

trimmed the battening and sewed on the binding. Added some ties made  from the binding so i could tie it closed on each end.

I sew with a big cone of thread so it going to be whop sided but i like it and it does the job!

Nette's Quilt

Hi friends!
Cloudy and sunny!
I made some blocks for Nette's Quilt .
I made this one too, thinking about a row across the top and bottom.
I can't just keep on making it a square, it want fit on a bed. These are made from the fabric i won last week.













This echo's the inside block!

This is the middle block of her quilt . I have already made her pillow shams for it.

I am working on 3 quilts and now that  i can see the end of them maybe they will go faster.

It gets boring when you work on one a while and then another!

Jessica's Birthday pillow

Hi friends!
Beautiful day!
But our garden needs rain!!!!!
Last night i got a message from Jessica asking me to cook her and her boyfriend breakfast and i said yes!!
Her birthday is Saturday, the 20th birthday, so i  looked up her quilt from last year and looked for some fabric to go with it. I had already gotten the pillow.
I couldn't find any scraps that i had used so i pulled some from my stash.

 

Here is the finished pillow sham, her quilt was pink and yellow.

She wouldn't hold it up and let me make a picture but she liked it.

She took some biscuits and sausage home with her for her supper later at work.

She is in school to be a ultrasound teck, she wont's to work with babies.

She goes to school and works to, i am so proud of her.

Her Mother is my daughter that was in the hospital last month.

Baby and a Bag

Hi friends1

Suppose to rain tonight!

Look who came to see us yesterday!  This is ELI our youngest great grand.

This is big brother Aden giving him sugar!

I have been needing a new bag forever so i made me one Sunday.

I had started it a few days ago before i got sick so i finished it .  Sewed the sides together.

I put some pockets on the lining, have to have a place for my phone!

Put those together.

Added binding on the top to match the bottom.

Added my straps and it was good to go.

I got a email on July 1th from Maria Felgueiras that i had won a fat quarter bundle and i found her blog fast but now i can't seem to find it to give you'll a link to it.
Tuesday i got another from Fat quarter shop saying it had shipped. and here it is in all it's glory.  After a long search i found her blog so that you'll can enjoy her    HERE
She is from Alamada, Portugal and has a wonderful blog about quilting, my first love, and stitching.
The name of it is 'QuiltingStitching and sew on.'   It's blogging great , you get to 'meet' the nicest people from all over the world.
Tommy carried me to urgent care Sat. and i am back on  antibiotic's. same o same o, just had one of these when my daughter was in the hospital last month but Dr. says he doesn't think UTI's are caused by stress.
I know i lost a friend i had know all my life last week and had another.!!!
I think this fabric will go great in my daughter's quilt.

Tommy is outside on his John Deere!!  Thank goodness it's a little cooler today for him!

I ordered this Sunday and it came yesterday!

A great place to order from  " sewing parts online.com'

Helen, a good friend from Australia, sent me a email about this place and i am well pleased. She said these bobbins were great , i will try one in a few minutes. I am going to look on their site for a part to try to fix my Janome.

This is why i needed to order a darning foot.  Can you see that needle sticking through that foot?

I may try to get that waxy stuff out of the foot then i could use it, maybe?
It just started moving and broke off the needle when it did.  I broke two are three of them!!!
When i get another quilt ready i will try out my new darning foot.
I really want to start another quilt but i don't need to.
I just keep telling myself that!!!

Jenny's Blocks

I have been watching Jenny of Missouri Star Co.

the picture on top turns into this a disappearing pin  wheel, i see where i messed up on this block.  Right on the top!! 

I made a few of these for my daughter's quilt

Right as rain now. I use my seam ripper a lot but that is part of quilting too.

This is what i really wanted to make!!!
It an envelope block and with creative cutting you get this great star.
Isn't this great?  I will have to make a quilt out of these blocks.
But since that's all of that fabric it want be from it, i might get anther block but it takes yards of fabric to make a quilt top, then battening and lots of fabric to make the backing and a yard to make the binding
I do love the video's on Missouri star quilt  co.  Jenny makes it look easy to make all kinds of blocks.

June Finishes

I made this for Lane my oldest grandson's boy the first of June.

And this one a queen sized exploding star for Missy!!!

Not much else finished but i have 3 quilts in the works now so hopefully i will have 3 finishes for July.
