Tumbler Quilt

Hi friends!
Changing out the bobbin!

I finished quilting my tumbler quilt. But before i finished!!!
If you look closely you will see that my gloves is hung up in the thread!
After i have had them on a while they stretch. And the tips slide off my fingers! If my finger had been in there i would have been in trouble.

Then i trimmed all around ! Ready to bind!

Working on that now!

I quilted big flowers all over it!
Another one bits the dust!!

Just went to the garden and picked.
Nearly a basket full!

We got 4 tomato's today just starting to turn but now they will turn fast.

David's Quilt

Hi friends!
Didn't work on quilting my tumbler quilt yesterday, maybe this weekend!
I put David's quilt on the bed tpo see how much i needed.

I think 12 more should do it for a big twin size.  I cut a few more, have ten cut!

Tommy sharpened my scissors for me, these had gotten very dull , have used them for years.

I sewed two on each side of the big star.
As far as i got while Tommy was watering the garden, second time this week but we still haven't got a drop of rain.

My Day

Worked on this yesterday , maybe i can finish it today! Not much you can do out side right now!

Made a few more for David's quilt to.

Mostly read yesterday! Sis brought over some Anne Perry books Monday and there was one i hadn't read.

David's Quilt

Hi friends!
I did a rough drawing of how i wanted Davids quilt to look at 5 in the morning yesterday after going to bed at 12.
Put this around the star, i wanted black but didn't have any good. Didn't want to buy if i could help it. so i got this.It's dark blue with white pin holes so it looks black.

I made this  block , i am going to use sports in each block.
After all he is 13!

Hopefully it want take me to long to finish his quilt with all the scraps that i have from  madeing quilts for my grandson's through the years.

Not doing much!

Hi friends!
I did get my quilt ironed yesterday but that's about all, we went over to visit brother and sis in law and when we got home sis came over and stayed a while.
You can see all the spots that i will need to move pins!

Cut a few more tumblers for a Christmas quilt for son and his wife.

Finished ironing it and it's waiting by my machine for me to get the energy to quilt it.
I got up at 5 this morning and sketched out a pattern for Davids quilt, was hurting so i didn't go back to sleep. I may take a nap after while!
Will have to wait for Tommy to get threw outside so i want worry about him!
He is weed eating the garden so a snake wont bite me.
He took his lawn mower in there Sat. and cut all the grass around the edges.

He does  his weed eating while it's still cool in the morning's. he can't stand it outside when the humidity is high, he can't breath
I got some orka, cucumbers, peppers, squash and one just barely pink  tomato today.

Father's Day

Hi friends!
We had three daughter's yesterday coming to see their daddy.
Only thing that would have made him happier would have been to see Missy to. He heard from her on face book last night. I showed it to him.

I tried to sharpen this picture up but it didn't work. To much light and windows.
Kim carried Bentley's quilt to him yesterday and his mother sent me a message that they loved it.
Now i think Davids will be next. I made him one years ago!

This is the one i made him years ago. Sis had given me a bag full of strips and i did a fast quilt with them.

This is one block for it! His was the only one of the little's that i didn't put a star in because they are my stars, all 23 of them.
When i started making them quilts i started with the youngest and worked back up to the oldest. and
he is the baby.

Garden 6/18/2016

Sandwiching and Steps to making a Wreath

Hi friends!
I sandwiches this quilt yesterday!
Plus i worked on my sis in laws wreath.

I had two that i had iron interfacing on already.

I cut backing fabric and sewed them together right sides facing and leaving a hole to turn it.

This one is turned and ironed , now close the opening with pins.

This is what a wreath looks like! I made it after Christmas.

I did two yesterday and then sewed them together.

Maybe i will have tiome to work on it some more this weekend.

Quilt Top

Hi friends!
Another quilt top finished , now i have to find some binding for it.

I had in mind this red!
What do you think?
There is a lot of red in this quilt because for some reason i love red.

Made one more of my wreath pieces for my sis in law to.
May change my backing fabric for this .
I will love on that later today.

Yesterday

Hi friends!
I am still doing strips of 2 by 6 inch colors for my second border.

I at least have those on!
Can't decide what size the next white border will be, Maybe three inches!
Maybe i can decide today and get those on!

I cut some yesterday on my sis in laws Christmas wreath , just a little because we were expecting company.

Not a good picture but Tommy is by Roger like he is my brother Howard , non stop talking.
Good to spend some time with them.
