Getting ready

Hi friends!
Beautiful day!
I have been buying fabric and inslu-brite for some birthday presents.  You know this already but it cost more to make things than it does to go and buy them.
Of course i always buy extra so i can put it in my stach!!!!
I washed the baby quilt and it is so pretty!!   all crinkly!!That backing is flannel and so girly and soft. i just happened to have some pink solid here to bind it and it all looks so good together.
I had to get some more sports fabric for the next grand kid quilt. hope to have it ready by Easter.

Shopping!

Hi friends!
Pretty day!
We went shopping for me an Easter dress and hubby a new shirt.  Getting ready for Easter. It's at the end of the month. We always have a good 50 people here eating Easter dinner and hunting eggs.
I saw this pattern and tute over on '2 little hooligans and liked it . She has a really good way of of explaining a pattern.
I needed a way to carry hot food when we go somewhere to eat.  Sunday we are going to brother's house and he wants me to bring hot biscuits.  This just fits the bill!!!!  I am putting buttons on mine and loops to close it but the pattern called for Velcro.  I used deco fabric and will never do it again.  Thick fabric!!!
Got to get on those birthday presents because 2 of them must be ready by Sunday.

I DID GET PICTURES!

Hi friends!
Raining here today.
See my beautiful baby quilt!!! The sun finally came out and i got a picture.
I posted it on my shop yesterday.  My shop on Esty has a link over on the side.
D.J. came over sat. but still doesn't know what her baby will be , and it's not due until august so i will have plenty of time.
Just love how my baby quilt turned out.
That is the fabric that i got from a esty shop  that is over seas.
Isn't he the cutest?  He was 3 weeks old and doing great so far.
So tiny!!!
They came over this weekend as did Clairs parents.
So we got to play with great grands on Saturday.  That makes it a great day .

Yesterday the sun was shining and i worked so hard to finish this so i could get outdoor pictures.  This morning the sun was shining so i hurried to finish, looked out and it had clouded up .
Makes me so mad!!!

Hurry spring!

Hi friends!
The sun is out!
Doesn't feel like spring today but hopefully  it will be here soon.
I have seen those yellow bell blooms under two feet of snow so i am not ready just yet to say spring is here.  The end of march i will be enjoying spring , i hope!
I finished a birthday present yesterday but she reads my blog so no pictures.
That makes 4 presents and 4 more to go.   Plus a quilt to make before Easter.
Working on something for my shop too but not ready to show on here.    Later this week maybe.
I will be so happy when we start sitting out side and drinking our coffee again.
As hubby says we will be complaining about the hot weather soon.

Sneak peek!

Hi friends!
Dreary day!

I got started working yesterday after spending all week end spinning my wheels.
I did get this made Saturday , a reversible cushion set for hubby's  chair that he changes shoes in.   He got it for his first wife when she was sick, and it's been breaking so he though this might help.
Does any one know of something that you can put on these chairs to stop them from breaking with age?
 It's at least ,close to 20 years old.
You can see my h quilt is ready to be quilted.   It's hanging on that chair beside the rocker.
I also have a birthday present that is ready to be quilted and my sneak peek is  almost ready to be quilted too.
I was busy yesterday!!!
Got to get busy today too.

Sunny day!
Look at all the cool loot that i won from kristy   She has a blog "institchesonthecompound"  that i could not link with for some reason.
She also sent a lovely card with the sweetest message.  She has got me covered with her things she sent, coffee and hot chocolate to drink while i sew or crochet.
 Sent me some yarn so i know she must have visited my other blog  "sewwego" where i post crochet things.   And lots of pre-cuts for my quilts .  The cutest litttle sock monkey mug rug for me too use while i drink what she sent me.
Thank you so much Kristy!    I just love it .    Really picks up my monday morning.
She is the sweetest person, i have e-mailed back and forth with her and she really is!!!
Hope everyone has a had as great a morning as Kristy made mine.

New fabric!

Cloudy day!
I got a order this morning from 'Fanciful Fabric' run by Karen.  Great fabric and reasonable prices.

Love the fabric i picked out,  it looks springtime to me and believe me i need some spring here.
  Don't forget that the 8th of this month we  are having a party with giveaways.  Hosted by Quilting Gallery it lasts until the 14th of march.

Flimsy!

Hi friends!

Suppose to get freezing rain and snow flurry's today.
But look what i found growing in my yard!!!!
Mother nature is a mess!!!
I finished my flimsy for h's quilt!  I am going to work on birthday presents this week end and if i have time Sunday i am going to get this flimsy ready to quilt.
 I guess it depends on how cold it is this weekend because i get my battening and backing put together on our porch. and it is not headed.
The second picture of the flimsy is a finished one because i measured and it needed a little more so i put a small square's border along top and bottom. that made it 62 by 76.
Just big enough for a twin bed! Just found out that my next quilt will be a twin too. this one will be for N.

H's quilt

Hi friends!
The sun is shiny and hubby is  thinking spring is just around the corner, he can't wait until garden planting time..
I have 3 rows of h's quilt put together and two more rows waiting.  Then i will know whether it will need another row are not.
My daughter gave me her Anna's old camera that is stronger than mine to use on my blog.  She bought Anna a new one because she is really in to photograpy. I have the sweetest kids!..
I made a picture of cows in a far off field testing it out a while ago.  Going to get it set up on my computer after i get off here.
I am going to try to get my top finished today.  I have got to work on some birthday presents for a while.  i have 5 birthday coming up in the next two months that i am going to try to make each of them something.
so i must get busy!

More stars!

Dreary day!
I am still making stars.  H got to go to school today, he was feeling much better. And his brother was too .
I got great news, baby Luke is on his way home from the hospital.
I just hope they keep him away from every one that sick!  he is a beautiful baby.
I ordered some more white fabric last Thursday.  From Hancock's in Chattanooga  about one hour from where i live.  It went to Birmingham,  Ala. and from their it went to Tupelo, Ms.  . It's suppose to get here today.  I hope!  I am really dragging bottom for my white.
Know wonder they are bankrupt all the gas they waste!!!!!!
I have enough of blocks for  three rows and maybe 4 by the end of today but i need my white to get the last row.   Well when i get them together i will know whether 5 will be my last or not.
Hubby got great news this morning the biopsy was fine!!!!!
Things are looking up at my house!!!

New stars!

Hi friends!
Dreary day here!
I think i know which way i am going with H's quilt.  Going to put rows of stars in between the blocks of fabric rows.Ii like this a lot more then the wonky stars.
Every one[ mommy and baby] are still getting better.
Hubby want know about his biopsy until Wednesday or Thursday.
But he has hurt his back so we must go to the Dr. for that.
I think i am in love with those stars!! It doesn't take long to make them.  I will get battening the last of this week .  I am going to use a sheet for the backing.  So it want be long!!!
He is still sick with the viral flu and now his brother has it.  Pray the whole family doesn't get it.  we got the shot but they are saying it doesn't cover this so i hope hubby doesn't get it. his lungs are not up to it.  he has COPD.
Have to get busy making stars .
