Blocks for Allie's quilt.

Hi friends!
Stormy day?
i used these flower garden blocks that was made by Allie's great grand mother in her quilt.
These may be 50 or 60 years old, they are all hand sewed.   Just to check i washed one by hand and put it in the dryer and it passed with flying colors.  They made fabric better years ago than they do now.

Hubby painted me a cabinet that his father made years ago and put it in my kitchen for can stuff.
He said he couldn't see in my pantry so this works a whole lot better.
This winter he started cooking , mostly frying, so he is arranging thing better.
 Now the frying pans are in the pantry so he can see them too.

More blocks for Allie

Beautiful hot day!
I made 2 rail fence blocks for Allison's quilt.
I will make another one today.   Then i want to find another block that i like to make her 6th row of blocks , after that i can start putting it together.
I am going to put some of this pease sign fabric that i got Monday in the next rail fence block.
I need something to sach it , see what i have, but i may have buy some pink to do it.  I have some pink but don't think i  have enough for  saching all those blocks.
hubby is painting me a cabinet that his father made years ago so i will have a better place to put my can stuff.  He is always fussing that it's to dark in the cabinet to see what we have.
  Then he wants to put frying pans in the place where i now have canned stuff so he can see them.  He likes to do the frying in this house !!!!

Finished pillow for my daughter's birthday. 
 I think this is so pretty!
Laura Jane sent me a ruler for this that she had two of and i love how it turns out.  Of course i read the paper that came with it and i had done it wrong.   But it still looks good to me.
 What's important is my daughter liked it.
Was gone all afternoon yesterday , took grandkids to the dentist, and was to tired after they left to sew.
 So i am going to sew this afternoon.

Great day!

Some more blocks of allison's quilt, got made this weeekend.

Took two of my grandkids to the dentist today and got to take them back next week.

There is no such thing as one trip to the dentist!

Right now i have 4 rows of her quilt done and need to do 2 more but i want to change up and put some new to me blocks for the rest of it.

Just got to find two blocks that i wont to make.

Took the girls by mcdonalds and saw hubby's sister and brother in law there but didn't have my camera .

That's always the thing , my camera is always here by my computer!

Beautiful day!
I now have enought blocks for two rows on Allison's pink quilt.   I am using other colors too as long as you can see the pink in them.   I love that fabric, that blue with   pink unbrellas and it show up enought to count as pink.

Another great book by Peter Roberson!!!   You have no idea who the killer is until the last few pages. I like books that keeps you guessing.
A great read.!!!

Raining!!!
made another block for Allison's quilt.  I am trying to figure out how to put them on point.  Does any one know of a tute i could see?
My flower in the front year has finally started growing.  I have put miracle gro on it for years but the ground in the front yard is just red georgia clay.
 All those years of hubby's ancesters scraping the front yard before loan mowers was invented has messed it up,.  Hubby keeps planning on getting some top soil but we never have that much money left over.

Learning how

I have been practicing my fmq.   But when you think of doing a queen sized quilt all over like this, it
would take a long time.

I gave D. J. her baby quilt, it's due in August, little lola is what they will call her.

she will be sweet Clair's baby sister.  They came over Sunday and stayed a while and brought Clairs cousin Delia, D. J. is baby sitting her for her parents to work.
Our Clair had fallen off a porch and you can still see the place under her eye.  She is the spitting image of her daddy, our grand son Brad.  Her dad and Clair is pictured  below.

Allison's quilt

Hi friends!
Cloudy day.
I made the first block of Allisons quilt.  She loves pink,  i have been looking on all my fabric site  that i buy from for something i think she would like but can't find anything, so i pulled all my pinks that i had here.
That block is made with fabric that came from my friend , Laura Jane.
I know there is yellow and white, and blue mixed in but they have pink in them.
Looking at that star laying like that makes me want to do a on-point quilt.
Allie is our blounde haired baby, she will be 16 her next birthday.
I am taking my time with these , wore my self out doing 2 in two weeks.

John deere

Another beautiful day!
Have you every seen any thing like this?  He has had this mower for nearly 7 years and he is waxing it.

This is where we spend our mornings in the summer time, our outdoor living room.  It faces the garden.
I always take my cup of coffee and walk aroiund the garden and see what is new.
This morning when i sat down i had a baby tick on my arm.  I had not been any where near the woods, so you better check your kids all the time this year.  They are really bad.

Another winner

A week ago sat. i pulled  'joyces' name for my winner and that day she sent me a e-mail but i have sent her e-mail after e-mail and she has not sent me her address.  This past weekend i started sending emails to her stateing that i was going to draw another winner and still haven't heard from her.
 Just checked my e-mails and still nothing !

This morning i get a package from my dear friend Laura Jane from the uk.  Her hubby got her a new dresden ruler so she sent me her old one.  Wasn't that sweet?  I see a pillow in my future!

My sweet daughter has a birthday on Sat. so i may make us both one.
She put some scraps in because she knows i love scraps.  laura jane that pink will go into a quilt for my alliecat, my  youngest step daughters only daughter.  i am going to start her a quilt soon.  I can't wait to make a dresten block!

Hi friends!
It was sprinkling when we went to town a few minutes ago.   Of course ,  the garden needs rain because it hasn't rained in 8 days.
I buy Peturias every year to fill a iron flower stand that my son and daughter in law got me for mothers day a few years ago.  And my daughter got me the rose bush for mothers day one year too.
the rose bush looks funny because the deer has eaten all the leaves off  the lower 4 or 5 feet.
This is going to be a lazy week end because i am tired!!!!

For May i did one baby quilt and 3 twinsized quilts , i plan to do two quilt's for June, one for Jarod and one for Alliecat.
Brough my daughter's 4 littles home after Mark's graduation.  They don't think they are little, Mark is14  , Wayne is 12 , Alisha is 11, and David is ten.So today am going to enjoy them.  Just served them Pizza and chips.  And will hopefully cook supper for their mother.

Flimsy

Hi friends!
going to be another hot dry day!
hubby got to hot Tuesday while I was gone and was sick all day yesterday.
So I sewed and finished Mark's quilt top.  I bought the burgundy  to sach it. so it's different from  his brother's.  It's mostly nine patch, with a few others in it.  I hope to finish it today, would love to give it to him tomorrow when I go to his graduation. .He will graduate from the 8th grade

She blogs at 'jedicraftgirl     , She makes beautiful things.  I just love the fabric she used on the back of it.

Mckays!!!!

Beautiful day!
Went with sis yesterday, and naturally we went to Mckays. They have all kinds of used books, you can exchange your's  , rent all kinds of thing to play them with, movies and games that is.  With all my hobbies I don't get into games and movies.  But they have quilting books, which I love and mystery's another love.
We didn't go to johann's but went to walmart and fresh market, sis was looking for coconut cream for cakes.   Then we drove thru Chickamauga  , near the battle field. I used to live there 50 years ago but sis had never been there. I didn't remember it much but had a lot of history because of the civil war.

Wayne's quilt!

Hi friends!
Beautiful day!
I finished Wayne's quilt and it turned out pretty good.
After I quilted it an had a moment I set up my machine to fmq and did pretty good, I though until I turned it over.   The second time it looked a whole lot better. but when I put it back it wouldn't pull the fabric.   When we got home tonight hubby helped me clean it and it works like new now.
My winner , Joyce, sent me a e-mail Sat. and I sent her two back and another one yesterday but I haven't gotten her address.  So Joyce if you are reading this, please send me your address  so I can get your winnings to you.
I have been working on blocks for Mark's quilt, every chance I get.  Have about half the blocks done, maybe 3/4.  I sached some of the blocks this morning before we went to my brothers for a cook out.
 We had a great time, we always do.
