This and that

Hi friends!
Beautiful day!
This is the fat quarter's that i am going to use in my binding.

I have decided to use a white backing,.
Today i went and got some white and some blue for a baby boy quilt.

I won this boy jelly roll some time back and it will work well with the blue i got today..   May be able to get two baby boy quilts if they say Kim is having another boy.
Can't say who i won the jelly roll from , lost that with all the rest of my email when i changed email providers.
I keep hoping it will get better.  But it just hates to reply to email.
I had the same problem when i went on windstream years ago but they got better so i can hope.

Borders!

Hi friends!
Cold and rainy!
I finally found some for the first and second border without buying any fabric.
This a a deep blue that so dark it looks black and it has a flower design in it.
It looks blue because the flash lights it up.

I had this orange' dainty stripes' that i got from Connecting thread some time in the last two years and it was just enough to do it.

This was all i had left.  I had enough to make the stripes go the same way so i think that worked. 
I wanted some thing bright for this dark winter.

I think i did get a bright quilt.
I am going to try to do the binding out of the left over's from the fat quarters.  I may have to use some of the green to have enough.
Now to try and find some backing with out shopping.

Sunday

Finish BOM blocks

Hi friends!
After 5 degrees now we are in the 60ths!!!
That's how people get the flu!
I held off for a while buying any of the great after Christmas sales but could't miss these.
Those on the top are from a new to me shop.
The ones on the bottom are from Donna's shop here
I couldn't link to her store but her blog when she has a link to it.

I finished my BOM 's for her block of the week  , now i will have to find two borders to go around it and finish it up.
I like it even through i am not into orange  but the green  really sets it off
It may be hard to find something for the borders but i am buying half yards  so maybe one of them will work.
my plan' s for the weekend!!
I think i am going to make one swoon block this week end as a start on my next quilt for us.
and look hi and low for border fabric.

Friday finish

Hi friends!
Rainy day!
I made Jarrod a pillow sham for his quilt.

This is his quilt that i made for him for his birthday last year..   Georgia and the Falcons.
His favorite teams.

Every one has been showing their sewing space, so here is mine!
No room of my own just the dining room.   We have a table and 4 chairs in the kitchen so that's where we eat all the time.
It's a mess!!!
My fabric has long since took up the back porch with just some in the dining room.
That some is a lot to some people.

Here is our big foot ball player getting his quilt.
We have a bunch of football and baseball players in this family.

Allie's Pillow Sham

Hi friends!
Warming up, it just got down to 11 last night.
I made Allison a pillow sham yesterday.

It goes with this pink quilt that i made her last year..
She turned  16 a few days ago.
It has the same fabric's that i used in her quilt.
It's great to be able to go back and see what you have already made.
It looks pinker because the picture is made inside and her quilt picture was made outside.
Look at that new garden behind her quilt!!  I can't wait until it gets warm enough for a garden.
Hope we are through with our Artic Blast.

WINNER!!!

Hi friends!
Cold!!!!!!!
It got down to 7 last night.
We stayed in and took down our tree and drank hot chocolate.

Tommy pulled my winner yesterday , it was Cricket Corner..  I have already emailed her and will send this out as soon as it warms up some.So glad for all my followers.   They make my life interesting , that and quilting.
Got to work on that pillow sham for Allie today.

Pillow case

Hi friends!
Cold, burrrrr
Tommy bought him a new pillow last week, i waited until i saw whether he liked it or not and then bought me one too.
It has a gel suppose to keep your head cool!!
Course at 18 degrees right now you may not need it. Suppose to 0 tonight.

He had complained that none of out pillow cases fit so i made him one

They are simple to make , i did what i always do just winged it.

I guess he liked it, he hasn't said any thing.   I think it's still a little big.
I have got to cover up my canned stuff , with the temp,s going down to zero, don't want to lose any thing.
After all the hard work i have put in!!!

Having Fun

Hi friends!
Cold but sunny!
I think i am in love with free motion quilting, Not good at it yet but maybe lots of practice will get me there.
Love my new Machine that i bought my self too.
We had to go to town to get some pillow to make two Pillow sham's for two grands with birthday in the next week .. Going to start on those soon but i think i am going to make us some pillow cases first.
 I really love Clairs quilt.  She is just two so maybe she can use it for a long time.  Finished at 49 by 60 inches.  A big toddlers size .

Clair's quilt

Nasty day!

This was New Years Day dinner, neither one of us can stand hog jowls!!!
Course that may mean we want be rich, don't think if some one offered me money i could eat them!!1
We are eating simply lately,  sometimes just one thing and bread, just have lost our taste for so many things.
    we eat so much Ham that we don't want any for a while.
I got some fabric to make matching pillow shams for my grands  quilt's, that i made them.
Good thing i save my pictures so i can see them to match.
We are going to need our quilts because it's suppose to get really cold.
I worry about all my norther friends because it will be much colder with lots of snow.
I think we are going to pay for the warm winters we have had the last few years.

Sneak Peak

Hi friends!
The sun is shining for today!
This is a sneak peak at my next quilt!!!
I counted all the quilts that i finished last year and it was 22.
Not going to do that this year!!!!!!
I am planning to show one daughter how to make a quilt while we make hers, and 7 grands that are over 18 will get theirs this year, i hope
I am going to make red haired girl a Christmas quilt and make my sweet daughter one too this year because my sweet daughter and red haired girl took a chance while i was learning to make them and made over them like that were the grandest they had ever seen.
So in thanks for their trust i am making them both another quilt.
I think all the grands that got a quilt last year for their birthdays are going to get pillow shams this year.for their birthday.  Hopefully i can match them all!!!!
Thank goodness for pintrest where i put pictures of all i made so i might be able to find fabric to match

Cold!!!
Sis got me this for Christmas to show my pictures , she got me one years ago and lighting run in on it.
She got Tommy a knife and a card to a home building store.
Daughter asked and bought me a bunch of sweats sets.
Son  and wife got me a Jo.Anns card but i haven't been in the mood to spend it yet.
We got some Tupperware and hubby some overalls from grands.
My sweet brother and sister for  nearly 45  years got me the prettiest shawl. I love it!
And a dearly loved friend from way off made me a beautiful bag and card.
And last but the biggest a new 50 inch T V from the girls and their families 
 We had a wonderful Christmas , hope you did to.

I said i was having a 2 year anniversary giveaway and here it is!!!
Four fat quarters of various, 100 % cotton quilting fabric. As always i will include some more things with it.
It has been a very enjoyable 2 years, i have 'meet' some wonderful people and some are good friends.
I may never meet you but i still think a lot of you.
I never thought i would love to blog like i do.  I started it just to keep learning to quilt.

This is Addie's quilt.  i made a picture of it when she got it but little fingers erased all my pictures.

Our baby Luke is in the hospital so say a little pray for him.RSV and a ear infection and pneumonia. Tommy is not feeling good so no visit to the Dr. today. Say a little pray for him to.  That awful flu is going around..
