Winning!!!

Hi friends!
Beautiful day!
a couple of weeks ago i had a lucky streak, i won this great Cotton and Steel bundle from fat quarter shop called "moonlit"
Haven't decided what i am going to make with it yet

Then i got a email from  Ellyn's place saying i had won one of her beautiful wallets.
It's that beautiful?  my favorite colors!!

Then i won this great pattern for a mug rug from Remi at 3patchcrafts.
Isn't that the cutest Christmas mug rug?
I should have gone and bought a loto ticket but i have done that before and never get not one number.
That's the way my luck goes , here today gone the next minute.

I will love on it for a while and see what idea comes to use it in.

Our Anniversary Dinner.

Hi friends!
Beautiful weather!
Yesterday we got to celebrate our 17th wedding anniversary.
The first of last week Tommy had a stomach flu and them i got a UTI.
And boy was it GOOD!!!!!

The Longhorn in Rome, Ga is the best!

This is mine the Flo's Sirloin and i wish i hadn't put the 57 on it , it was melt in your mouth good.
Tommy's was so big and tender, he made me eat a bite.
Both steak's were just as tender as could be.
I have never eat a steak that tender.
And the service was great. Our server was a very sweet person named Amanda E.
You should ask for her.

She is a fantastic server at a fantastic restaurant.
No kidding i have never had a steak that tender.

Neighbor's Quilts

Hi friends!
I went to see my neighbor Monday and she showed my some of her quilt's.
She has been doing it a while is much better then i am.

She is making the under ground railroad quilt, just one of many quilt's she has going. That top block is just one of many beautiful blocks that she has made for it.
She has some great  small totes that her daughter got her at Costco to put her different projects in.  I must have some of those.  I wonder if Costco is on line

She had made at least two of these, sunbonnet sue''s and is working on a grandgirls quilt with the fabric below

 Isn't that the cutest fabric for a girl quilt.
I will post some more of her quilt's later on.
I was blown away , it's hard for me to keep up with 3 quilts at one time. And she is keeping up with a whole lot more than 3.
I really need me some of those small totes.

College bound and Nette's Quilt

Hi friends!
My daughter's quilt on her bed!
She loved it.

Her girls came to see us Friday because Anna had  to  leave to go to college on Sat. and i sent the quilt home with them.
Anna is the one on the left.
On the right is our Angel, she graduates this next June.
Then the next year Jarrod and Allison does!
We have a lot of grands in school and several in college now.  Michael , Kristan, and Anna are in college here and there.  Anna is going to college  in Gainsville Ga.  Kristan  , who they have already asked  to be on the year book staff, will be going to Berry in Rome and Michael is on his last year at 'Ole miss'
So we will have high school and college grads next   June.
My grands are growing up!!!

A late Friday finish!

Hi friends

Hi friends!

Cloudy day!
She came over Sat. and i gave her the snowman Dresden plate quilt.  She loves snowman! Later she sent me a picture of it on her bed but i don't know how to get pictures from my phone so you want get to see it.
I showed it on my other quilting blog A Simply Great as a Friday finish last week.

She said she loved it!
Every fabric except for the white had snowmen on it, i collected them from Joanns and here and there on line.  The white is Moda Snow.  It took 5 1/2 yards of the Moda snow and lots and lots of the other fabrics
It's hard to count when i got fat quarter's her and there.  I know the last trip to JoAnn's i bought 5 yards.    I may have had 4  or 5 yards in fat quarters alone. And i only had scraps left!
i used what i got the last trip to JoAnn's  as blades and as binding and borders.
I  am lucky Sis gave me enough muslin for the backing so i just bought fabric and battening.
I do love Dresden  plate quilts.

Sunday

17 years

Hi friends!
We have been married 17 years today, both of us was 55 when we married and now we are 72 years old.
Time flies when you are happy!!!  We had both lost our spouses to death , i had been married 29 years , he had been married 36.  I had been single for 9 years when i meet him.
After our wedding ceremony, we came off the mountain to our reception that Amy and Abby gave us at Chris and Amy's house. and hubby said this and i remember it word for word!
"This is how we are going to do it. I will make the decisions on my side of the family and you make them for yours and we will back each other 100 percent because our kids are not braking us up"
It's been hard sometimes to do that but it has worked .
I have a hot tempered and tender hearted  man. He is like red haired girl, blows up at the drop of a hat but cools right down.
We have been very happy for all these years and i just hope we get to spend 17 more with each other.
I feel sorry for those people that doesn't have the happiness that we have.
You know you have a great marriage when you spend 24 / 7 together for 10 years and you are still in love.

Blocks!

Hi friends!~
We finally got some rain!
I bought this the other day for two quilt's that i am starting.

Made up some more of these blocks so i could show you some of the pattern.
That's what i got the white for.

This will be one block!  I think!   It's not sewed together yet.

This may be the second one.  I think i will make up a bunch so i can lay it out so you can see it.  It doesn't show up good against the quilts on the bed.
when i get a lot made i will see how each block goes together.
I will look up this block so i can give you a name for it.  I saw it on fat quarter shops video's that teach you how to make different blocks.

New Quilt.

Hi friends!
This cute fabric is going to make a wonderful quilt.

See what i am doing ?  two white squares on each side and draw you a line, sew and cut, if you draw two lines you get this

A cute little triangle square  to use some where else in the quilt.

Hi friends!
Cutting into my winnings!
I saw a quilt pattern yesterday and just had to try it!
Hot and dry here, so staying in and sewing.

This is really beautiful fabric.
I bought some white today to go with this so tomorrow you will see what i decided to make.
It may be a Christmas gift for a good friend.
I want to start Aden's quilt so i got some blue for that , now i have all the fabric i need to do that.

I love this block but i sent her a email which i am sure she didn't get because she was going to send me some oil .  My email sucks!!!!
Last week one day i couldn't get on my email until 3 o'clock.
i have lost out on giveaways that i have won because it will not reply on gmail accounts.
I have ever tried to send winning email to my gmail account and they want go.
Looks like i am going to have to chance e-mail's again.
Charter and g-mail don't play nice with each other.
Do you know of a good one that works really well? If you do let me know please.
The last one i had started out that way but got a whole lot better but i have had this one for  6 or 8 months and it doesn't show any signs of ever doing better.

Our Weekend

Hi friends!
I started cutting on Aden's quilt yesterday!

I keep getting more and more prints to go in Aden's and Tucker's quilt.

 Clair and her daddy, they had bought her some new cowboy boots.
They got her some last year and she our growed them  so saved them for Lola and they can't get her fat little feet in them. They still might fit her later on.  She has shoot straight up since she started walking.

 They came to see  us Saturday , Lola has growed so much and is walking now.  She says 'oh i know you ! your that lady with the camera'

They had bought Clair some school stuff and Dimi is going to play school with her because she will start pre-k next year .

July Finish's

My only quilt finish for July! My daughters quilt!

And a bag for my Alisha.
I have two quilt's that i should be thou with soon but they are not quiet finished.
Yesterday was Tommys birthday and i cooked him a steak but he wasn't happy because it wasn't a t-bone so i guess we will have to find us one somewhere .

It looked great but was a little hard to chew!
I am pushing for the outback and we will probably go to the Long Horne .
The last time we eat there Tommy got a good t-bone!
