Hi friends!
Beautiful but cold. It went down to 23 last night.
This is what i did yesterday, we had our baby for a few hours while her mama went to the Dr.
Tatum text me last night and said she wanted solid colors for the border so i ripped them off last night and am making black borders today.
 I think i will like it better when i get them on too.
We got up and both went to the Dr. this morning, hubby had run a fever last night and i got up feeling bad so we just both went in to see him.  He said we both have the same thing[ big surprise] we sleep in the same bed!!.

Can't afford to be sick for thanksgiving.
Got a lot of cleaning to do next week.

Cold day!
This is the only picture i could get that the black didn't look deep blue.  I made this without the flash.
I text Tatum but haven't heard back from her, i will text her after school and see what she wants me to do.
I have till Thanksgiving to finish it.
a grandson wants us to keep a baby this afternoon so i am posting a short!!!

Hi friends!
Cloudy!
I wish i could have found some solid black because this is  just to much .   I have never made one like this..
Of course i have seen some that are scrappy  but i am trying to think of some thing else to add as a border.
I just can't see any beauty in this.  I love the fabric with butterfly's and it sparkles but i don't like it on this quilt.
I will think about it today and decide what to do.  I am giving it to her Thanksgiving. So i have time to change it.
I have some black but i swear it looks dark blue next to this black in this quilt but i may see how it does as a border.
Now i will worry about it all day tring to come up with some thing i like.  I really hadn't looked at the pictures to know that i didn't like it!!!!!!
Oh well  Another day!!!

Tatum's and Michael's

Hi friends!
I put my rows together
 and now i have to join the rows .   The bottom pictures it is together and i already have saching on.   Right now i am taking them apart because i need to trim one of my blocks, i though i might could ease it in but it didn't work.  After i redo it i will be ready for the border's.

This is the quilt that i have washed so many times because the backing faded really bad!!!
It must have shrunk to because it is really puffy. The last wash with color catchers got nearly all of it so maybe one more wash is all it needs. I have used just about all of that box of color catcher.

Charm packs

Beautiful day!
I wanted some scrumptious so i ordered 2 charm packs from "Missouri quilt co.
They had one on sale for 3.33 and the other was just 8.95, i though that was a great deal.
Some place's has it a whole lot higher than that!!!
It's beautiful fabric and i love any thing Bonnie and Camille does!
Them and Aneela Hoey.  Beautiful fabric's.

Tatum's quilt

Hi friends! Another beautiful day God has given us.
My goal yesterday was to finish these 3 blocks for Tatum's quilt and here they are.

With borders it will be just right for Tatum's bed.  I redid the layout after i took this picture. 
I don't know whether i will add saching or just sew them together.    If i could find some black i would border it in that but it's hard to match on the Internet and Walmart doesn't have any more of what i had bought.
I will go up there tomorrow and check again , just in case
Yes folks i buy a lot of my fabric at Walmart, but i get a lot[ too much] on the Internet.
Some that i have bought at Hancocks has faded on quilt's i have made so i am careful what i buy from them.
that is where i got that red that faded!!
But a family member gave me the backing on Michael's quilt that is still fading on the white of his quilt.
I am going to wash it with color catchers again today for the 6ht time.
Got a busy day ahead.... sewing.[ Heaven ]  love it.
I used to make clothes but grew to hate that but really enjoy cutting fabric in little pieces and putting them back together.

Make do!

Hi friends!
I know you remember when i was fussing about my kenmore breaking thread all the time.
One day i was reading blogs and saw this!  Don't remember who posted about it but if you do let me know so i can link to her.
It works!!!!! my machine doesn't break thread all the time any more.
It makes great seams and just sews right along.  I would love to thank the person that posted that.

It takes 10 of these to go around one  block.
I am going to try to do all three today and sandwich my Christmas quilt.  Have the backing for them both but only battening for my Christmas quilt.
I will have to do another Walmart run to get some more.
Maybe Friday?
I need some sewing time!!
It's amazing i never felt like that while making clothes.

our little luke warm for the cookout.

Hi friends. This is my christmas quilt.  I need to do some work on it to make it long enough
I looked but didn't find the black in Tatum's quilt so i guess i will do a design change. I didn't get any thing done on her's yesterday.  So now it's back to the drawing board.

Hubby cleaning out our sun room heaters so they will be safe.

At the quilt show, this quilt was made out of velvet.  It's beautiful and warm I'm sure but i don't think i would like to work with velvet.  Seems like it would be slippery!!!

Tatum's block and a cookout

Hi friends!
Beautiful day!
I have completed 4 blocks on Tatum's quilt.  Made all the rest of the stars and have 5 more to finish but i have used all my black and must get some more tomorrow.
I am tired today and intend to just pittle around.
We had a cook out here last night.

We had great family time and got to play pass the baby and play with big sis but we missed the ones that didn't come.   Kristan's mother wanted to do it for her  18 th. birthday . We were just glad to be included in her birthday.

This is what we gave her a few months ago for her birthday this year.She got it a little early but it's hard to do one and give them just when they have their birthdays when you have as many we do. Don't have enough storage space to hide them.  Plus i like to give them to them as soon as i finish them.
We have a lot of birthdays  not just this month but just about every month with 24 grand kids.

I want to show you a quilt that i just fell in love with at the quilt show today.
Is that not a beautiful Christmas quilt?
It was made by the lady that lives up the road from us, daughter.
All three quilt's on this table are hers.

This one was on the other end and it is gorgeous. 

Made by the same woman.
I want to make one like this in the middle.
I love that block.
Just have to figure out how to make it!!!

Tatum's blocks

Hi friends!
Beautiful day!
I have made 3 blocks and have made  3 more stars  that i need to trim out with half square triangles.  Then i will lay them out and see if that is enough or if i need to  make more.
Michael's quilt is in the washer with color catchers for the third time.  The backing that i used was some in my stash and it faded bad.
Lots of people have given me fabric and this was a brown plaid that i didn't think would do this.
Maybe this time will be the charm and i want have to use any more. Don't want to use the whole box on just one quilt.
Maybe by Monday i will have most of Tatum's blocks made and can show you.
I decided to do them this way and they measure 21 inches.
With a border, i may need to do nine.  We will see.
We went and walked at 1 o:clock and it got hot, i came home and put on shorts.
The weather man said a high in the 60ths after that rain we got last night but right now it's 76 degress

This is the latest block that Donna posted yesterday. A spool block.

These are the fabrics that i am using, it's ASTRID  by Erin McMorris for Westminster fibers.
I won these from Maureen  Cracknell  a few months ago. It looks kinda holloweeny . I am using a green solid and some flea market fancy too.  Hopefully i will have enough but if not i can order some , i hope.
I am enjoying this BOM very much.  Friends you need to join in.  It's great fun and so far i have not run into any thing that i can't do.

Tatum's quilt

Beautiful day!
I don't know why that last block looks green,  it is black!  The same black that's in the first one.
Maybe my battery is getting low in my camera.  And that's the only picture i made of it.
I made this and finished off the other one yesterday and then got sidetracked cutting 2 1/2 inch squares out of my scrap bags.  I emptied 3   gallon bags but i have a lot more bags left.
I have a lot of pieces cut so when i need them i will have them.
Going to make some more stars today. That big block measures 24 by 24 so 6 or 8 ought to do the job.

We are covered up with these bugs, they said they were Kauzoo bugs.  They are brown lady bugs!  Hubby came in last night and had 4 on his back.  You can't sit out side with out getting covered up with them.
I don't like them so i want sit out side even thru it's in the 70ths.  I went out there yesterday and got 3 or 4 on me and came back inside.  Guess i will just stay inside and sew.

I put some more of the half square's on the top and bottom of Tatum's block  , then took one of them off because i liked the other one better.  This is the one i liked. Got to quit playing and get started making blocks , so far i have only made two.

This is going to be the top of a quilt that i am making fro a great grand for Christmas.
Right now i plan on making 2 Christmas presents.
I want to find something i like for the border to go with the pink and yellow

I moved these flowers back and the frost didn't kill them....Yet!
Today it's suppose to be in the 70ies so hubby is out side working.

Sis's quilt

 Sis came up sat. and this is a quilt she had recently had quilted

I don't know whether you can see it but the lady quilted flowers all over it.
It's a beautiful bed sized quilt.

This is what i spent my weekend doing!!!
I had it half quilted when sis came over so i finished it Sunday.
Sis does great work, she has been at it years longer than i have.
If she ever retires she has a frame in her house to hand quilt her quilts on.
 I hate to tell her but her hands may not let her sit for hours and quilt.
She already has some of the dreaded 'AUTHOR'
It may still be a few years before she retires, she will be 62 in March.
She is ten years younger than me.
