This is the connected thread in Dahlonga.
A great quilt shop!
 She has something for every one.

Naturally i had to get a picture of Christmas quilts!
They i had one thing that i may be calling them for, they don't do interent. They sale grab bags of one color, 5 one yard cuts of one color family for 24.99. That's pretty good!

This was the rest of my list for my new quilting class group. I had a 16 inch hoop but not a 12.
And this!

This was my grab bag and i never buy dark's so i needed them. my excuse!
\Also bought two fat quarters that i intended to practise my stitch'es but forgot i didn't bring a pair of scissors.

The past few days!

Hi friends!
You may remember i said i would tell you this week what my son and his wife got me for Mother's day?Well it was a 3 day , two night stay at a cabin.
This is the view out of the sun room!
I could sit there forever and watch the river flow!!!
So calming!

Morning coffee with a view!

Can't you just see a roaring fire in this in the winter time?
I came home and got sick as a dog and threw up!
Some tea we got on the way home i think!
More on my wonderful vacation that they gave me tomorrow.
Today i rest to get over my vacation

Here two rows are joined.

It doesn't really show up good in a picture because the color is so light.

That shows a little better.

It shows a lot better on the back. Now to get another row done!

Working on the String Quilt

Hi friends!
I worked a little while on this Friday night.
It's just a week until i give a quilt away so i spent a lot of time on it. It's not going good so i turned to this! More fun that way.

This part is easy just adding blocks to each other. I have decided to just make a lap quilt from some of the blocks and then make another quilt so i can keep using up scraps.
I need to use up some bad!

It think a four row is going to be the width of the quilt.
So next came another row.

One more row ready to join together. Maybe tomorrow

Help Wanted!

Hi friends!
Would you look at this block!
It's was done by the lady that's going to teach at our quilt group.
That is amazing! And she is going to teach us how to hand piece and quilt by hand to.
We went last night to the first meeting of our new quilt group.  Had a good showing of people that were interested in quilting.
But first we need some help!
One lady is working on a old vintage quilt trying to finish it and she wanted me to ask anyone that reads my blog if they have some of this fabric.

If anyone has some they are willing to sale she is willing to pay you for it.
It's beautiful fabric just to old for me to have any.

Some of the ladies that came and the lady in the pink shirt is the teacher.
Their was quit a few more that i didn't get a picture of .

Still Looking

Hi friends!
This is the walking foot from my other Brother, the one i bought for me at Christmas. but the needle hole doesn't match up.
I spent another day looking!
I also tried the one i got for my Janome.

This is with the foot down!
Not going to work like that!
I remember thinking when i moved my sewing room into the bedroom ,that i hadn't seen that baggie.
So yesterday i went through a large tote, found some clamps i had forgotten i had bought! But so far no baggie. I think i must have just put every thing into a bag before Christmas or Thanksgiving and that went into one of the totes.
So i will keep looking.
Not much sewing going on but a lot of cleaning!!!!

ReDid Quilt and winning

Hi friends!
Making blacking for the quilt i took the back off of.

I redid it it and then went looking for my walking foot on my big brother.
And looked , and looked , and looked!!!!
I have all my bits and bobs in a gallon baggie along with the book but i cleaned off my sewing table and still couldn't find it.
Found all the rest of mine in their baggies but not that one. Just ruined my day!
Today so far is a lot better. Look what the mailman brought me.

Strip blocks, Clair and Lola and Bentley

Hi friends!
My five more blocks!
At least i am getting there !
Before i can sandwich these i will have to sandwich another quilt so i will have some left over battening.
So i guess the next step is to sandwich my daughter's quilt.
Last Friday we got to see our girls!

We sure have missed them, Clair is playing t-ball so they have been busy. Then Sunday we got to see Bentley again after Gracie's Birthday party. Kim always come to see me on Mother's day. She is like my own daughter!

Such a sweet little energizer bunny! With all those curls!
We did have a great weekend.
Spent all day Sat. cleaning house and sewing while Tommy worked on the garden.

He was ready to plow up the orka and plant it again and I said wait so now it's come up since it's got warm again.

We have blooms on the tomato's!
Can't wait for a fresh picked one out of our garden!

Mother's Day

Hi friends!
My daughter made dinner for us yesterday and for all her kids with her kids help.. Mark cooked the steaks !
After ward we had Gracie's birthday party.

This is what she got me! I had been wanting a knock out rose every since my son and his wife planted them around their pool.
Just hope the deer's don't eat it!.

Talk to my son last night , I will show you want he and Amy got me next week sometime.
Last week i had a giveaway and Maureen won, well she sent me a present.

I love Santa's !
She also sent me a key ring which i am already using.   I am going to ask for that pattern before next Christmas because i love making ornaments for my tree.

Happy Mother's day

Garden 5/7/2016

Strip Quilt

Hi friends!
If i make it queen sized i will need 5 more blocks.
I had though to give it to some one but then was told she doesn't like quilts, so i guess i will re-think that one.
I did get one thing finished yesterday, I got the back off of that X#*x quilt.
So now i have two ready to sandwich.
Should be able to get those done this weekend. I need to make backing first so maybe this after noon i can do that.
I just sandwiched one that i haven't shown because it will be a surprise for some one some time this month.

I guess i will make 5 more of these because my bed is queen sized.
Have to dig some more for the right length in strips.
