First blocks for Eli and Kari's quilt

Hi friend!
Warming up some.
This is the first two blocks of the hunter's star for Eli and Kari's quilt.
You make 4 blocks and then you put them together to make a 12 inch block.
It takes a while to make all 4 and then to put them back together because i keep messing them up and having to use Jack The Ripper.  It has taken me two days to get these two done.
It's a good thing i was planing to give it to them on Easter., which is April 20th
I won this from Carol Steely, It's iron on's you can use to cut perfect half square triangles.
They are called sqangles and i won them on .FunThreads   Click on the blog name and it will take you to a great designer.
I haven't tried them yet because they just came in the mail.'
Looking forward to trying them.
We got out this morning and we for our 6 month check up with our Doctor, he gave Tommy a z pack because his sinus's just keeping getting worse.
I hope he doesn't share what ever he has.

Bentleys Quilt Finished

Still cold and snowy, temps went down to 0 last night.
Our thing said 4 but the report was 0.
I are lucky , Tommy works hard to make sure the pipes don't freeze.
Don't know whether we will be able to pay our bill but nothing froze. He put a heater on the enclosed porch so the washing machine didn't freeze. The repair man said water runs back into the tub from the hose so he has heated the porch at night since.
Don't you love Little Bentleys quilt?  I think it turned out really good!
I finished it yesterday in time to make pictures with the snow.
I may do some more quilting on it because it needs to hold up for a boy, but i am mostly done with it.
He  isn't due until May.
Next week i will hear what Kim is having so i can start on her baby quilt.
So far no one else is P G.
I am also starting on Eli and Kari's hunters star quilt.

Bentley's quilt

Hi friends!
Still snow!!
I have been hemming Bentley's quilt. Nearly through now!

Look at the deer foot prints not a foot from our back porch!
No wonder the dogs don't bark at them , they think they are scenery like trees  ,we have so many.
The yard is full of deer prints.

The next quilt i am going to make is" the Hunters star".
  Our granddaughter Kari liked this pattern for her and Eli a quilt.   Eli is my daughters son but Kari seems like ours too.

This is Tommy's Magnolia tree. see how the leaves cup the snow.
I wanted to go up there yesterday and take pictures but it was to icy to walk and i didn't want to fall.
You can't sew when you brake a arm!!!

But vines and leaves are getting old, so i will have to come up with another to practice for my quilts.
I hope his mommie likes it.  She said she did when i first started it..
Knowing his father , he probably wants tractors!!!

I found this is my fabrics and i think and hope theirs enough for a binding.
I have fallen in love with free motion quilting.
Didn't say i was good at it but i try.
When you are retired you can't afford to have some one else quilt it for you..
Of course i love to try new things.

This makes it easy to learn,  my birthday and Christmas present to myself.

"Grow Your Blog Hop'

Hi friends!
Cold!!!  It was down to 8 last night!  They are saying more next week and have put out warning about not using so much fuel.  Don't know how you can use less fuel!!!  We turn ours way down at night, that's the best we can do.
You want see my sewing room like this very often!!!  This was after our company left and i put my machine on the table to make this.
 i sewed that fabric on to the yard of fabric to make just the right size.Now it's perfect!
The quilt top is under that backing.
Today i will make a quilt sandwich!
Tomorrow we have our 'Grow Your Blog' hop and i will have a giveaway.
It's a table topper kit, hope you'll will be back tomorrow

Bentley's quilt!

This is a small piece but i think i can make it work!! Maybe together it will be big enough for  a backing for this quilt.  They are just darling fabric's for a baby quilt.
I have enough battening so maybe Friday i can make a quilt sandwich.
Today we are having company, Tommy's sis and her husband.

Bentley's quilt

Hi friends!
Cold!!!
I found out the baby's name, Bentley  from now on it will be Bentley's quilt.

So this is for Bentley!
Now i just need some backing for it which i don't think i have.
I have some pink but don't think that would work.
Even through it has paws on it.  Just the wrong color.
Today i am going to look every where and see what i have because it will be next week before i can get some.



It's looking good to me.  Just a little more work on it and it will be ready for that backing. It's not quit as big as i want it to be yet.  Maybe another  round of blue will do the trick,  wish me luck on finding something. 
I am trying to buy less and use what i have. 
We are so broke after Christmas.

Caitilin's Baby boy quilt

Cold!!!
I started Caitlin's baby boy a quilt!
We are sure it's going to be a boy, she had her ultrasound. So i am using a blue and a jelly roll for it.
Not perfect!!!

I like it so far , hope she does.
I am stuck, to get it longer than it's wide i am going to have to change the way i am making it.

I was very windy the day i made these pictures.  You have to try

I loved making this quilt.  See my leaves going up the side?
I really loved F M Quilting it myself.

One day maybe i will get good enough to do a queen sized quilt.
I am going to start a quilt for Kari and Eli next, they want a Camo quilt !!  I though i could use light brown instead of white for the background..   I will problemly start it next week
I will need some dark green and i need to get enough for their quilt and Missy's western quilt to.
I want a real deep green and cream for her's and maybe some deep red.
So Much to do..

I want to say that Bloglovin is the greatest!!
One day this week i was reading my bloglovin feed and run upon some very vulgar pictures in a blog, i sent off a email to them and within 5 minutes i received an answer. They had removed that blog from bloglovin.
You cant beat that time. i have been waiting for a reply from JoAnns for three days.

Nearly done!

Hi friends!
Beautiful day!
I really enjoyed playing yesterday!!
Making leaves , vines and flowers.
Some was strange looking but since i am keeping it my self that's O K.

I sewed part of the binding on last night.

This is the first time i have made a binding out of leftovers, but i think i like it!
I love F M G , love to play with different things on there , i will never be a artist but it's sure is fun!

Quilting fun!!!

Hi friends!
Beautiful but cold!
I ironed the front and the back of my quilt after spray basting and pinning it.
If you look close you can see some pins in it.  I use both.  But with the spray baste i am not on the floor putting that many pins in.
When you get my age the floor doesn't suit you!!!!!
We went to the eye doctor yesterday and Tommy needs surgery on one of his eyes.  We have a apt. to see the Doctor  next month that will set it up.

I am quilting with vines and leaves, not very good yet but since i am keeping this quilt no one will see but me and sis.  Hubby just kind of looks at my quilt, as in please hurry up and get it out of the front of the TV .

Don't know where i was here but it's in the middle of the quilt where i quit for the night. I looked up and saw it was 10:00 o'clock so i shut it of and went to watch the news.



Have to keep up with the weather when they are saying '''Snow''

Hi friends!
Cold day!
This is the backing that i sewed together yesterday for my 'sunshine' quilt.

I have named this quilt 'sunshine', i am missing sunshine and green things growing.
I am ready to sandwich my quilt now and finish it.

This is a quilt my sis made for our brothers grandson.   Beautiful isn't it? I didn't get a close look but it looks , like something i might want to make .  I love the corner stones , friendship stars.
