A finish and grandson birthday present

Hi friends!!
Beautiful day!
I finished my pin wheel stars quilt,

  just like putting a label on it.

 

Gave our handsome football and baseball playing  grandson his pillow that I made for his birthday
I think he liked it!!
Want to get three more made before Easter for David ,Angel , who turned 17 today and Hagon for their birthdays. A  pillow and sham that matches their quilts that I made them last year.
Easter is the 20th of April and that's not long.
I have a lot of cleaning to do before then.
I  got some black today to bind the "Camo" quilt and maybe I will have another finish for today , that would make 2 quilts made this month.
I will post about that tomorrow, don't know whether I will finish it or not.
That navy that I had just wouldn't work because it was  to  heavy.

New Great Grand

Hi friends!
Look what we have!!!!!!
He was early , weighs 4lb sand 6 ounces but is breathing fine.
As his granddaddy said he has all his fingers and toes.
They, the grandparents, came over here last night after they sent her home for bed rest but when they got home there was a message from Katie , they got to the hospital just in time.
He looks big here but isn't .
I was waiting to blog till she posted some pictures.
He is beautiful!!!!

Stars Quilt And baby news

Hi friends!!!
Cloudy day!
This is the backing for the stars quilt, it even has orange in it!!  I know it looks red but trust me it's orange.

Here she is all sprayed and pinned.
I will  straight line quilt it since I can't use my quilting foot.  I could do it on my Janome but don't want to visit the repair man right now!! I checked on the price of a quilting foot and they are like 35 $
Just have to do with out until I can find one cheaper.

 

This was when I first started spraying and pinning on my table that I drug into the house, don't like to do that so I am going to have to spend some time clearing the back porch now before I have to spray another.

Good news or not Katie is in the hospital going into Labor and they are trying to stop her because she would be 7 weeks early, My daughter in love did that 21 years ago and Michael is in Old Miss right now.  Michael was 7 weeks early too.  Prayers for Katie and Bentley, please.

Sometimes all they do to stop labor doesn't work when God wants that baby here right now!!!

Today

Hi friendsBeautiful but cold still!

This blue is much darker then the photo , the flash makes it look bluer than it is .
It's so dark it's almost black so I am thinking binding their quilt with it.

I added the border yesterday and that makes it a good sized lap quilt.

Tommy worked all the pretty days last week on this rotten tree that he had cut down.  the temps are suppose to be in the 70ths next week so he will finish it up.
Several people want it but he doesn't want to haul it for any one so I don't know what he will do with it.   It's so rotten don't know why any one would want it.
Woke up this morning all chugged up, allergy' are making my day rough.  I was fine yesterday , don't know what changed/

Found some Orange!!!

Hi friends!
Beautiful but cold!!!
My Orange fabric to go with this quilt.
Tommy called the Dr,s office 3 times before he could get to talk to the person that left us a message this morning.
But maybe he is all set to go and get his eyes 'measured'
Don't know what that means but we will see.
He was all set to call and cancel the surgery because he couldn't get in touch with them.
I had to remind him that he can't see after dark!!!
He wants to get to working on his tree he had cut down but it's just to cold to work out side when you have COPD.
I think I am going to put borders on this quilt this afternoon, got the battening for it yesterday and keep digging in my stash until I think I have a binding for Eli's and Kari's quilt.

Problems with sewing machine

HI friends!
Beautiful but cold with a snow flake here and there!!!
I got all my stars sewed together and got some orange to border it with today!
And battening of course to put it all together but one thing I didn't write down and forgot to get was binding for the camo quilt.
Oh  well!
   I will get it tomorrow because we have to go back to town then.
We had to go to Rome today to get parts for the chain saw and tiller.
The more toys you have the more brakes down.  Tommy can fuss at what I spend but he is a close second just keeping all his stuff going and when springs get here and all summer he buys gas every week.

This past weekend I was quilting The", camo" quilt and my  quilting presser foot moved and now it has a broken needle stuck in it!!
I finished quilting it on my Janome but looks like I am going to have to buy another one of these.  It's a long shank and the one on the Janome is short shanked.
Buy the way I finally got the laptop to let me post pictures.

Problems!!!!!

Beautiful day!
This is a old picture because I can't get pictures to post on my laptop or my DT.   I think it's time for another tower!!!
This one is newer but haven't used it much and I think it needs to go to the repair shop.  It loads pictures but want display them the way it's suppose to.
On my DT I am going to try to change to google chrome , I have been using firefox  for a few months but it would get me blank pictures, nothing else.
The more toys you have them more they brake!!!!!

I started quilting Eli's and Kari's quilt yesterday!  I thought leaves would be good on 'camo'

I worked on it a while and then we had company.

Our company!!! Lola was running a fever so they just stayed a little while and went on to the DR office.
She couldn't stand the flash.
We took her temp and they took her on.
MY sweet grand babies!@!!

I worked on Eli's and Kari's quilt yesterday and today i am going to turn it over and make sure their are no wrinkles in the back [ hopefully] and clean my table off so i can start quilting.

The sun is shining on us after 4 1/2 days  of dreary!!!

I had had about all the winter i could stand!

This and That

Cloudy day!
This stuffed package arrives the other day.  All month i just bought fabric that i had to have for something i was working on until last week. I told you about getting 3 scrap packs from Harthorne threads.    I had been wanting to get some more They are listed under bundles sales.
So i ordered me some more!!!

Stars!!

Hi friends!
Nasty day!
Eight pin wheel stars!!!
I have  made the Ninth and am thinking about making a small quilt out of these for a special some one.

I need battening because all i have is marked for my swoon quilt.  I have some backing.  But am thinking about some sashing , maybe orange????
I don't know why i always see orange and green together in my mind!!!
This weather is killing me, and it's suppose to rain again tomorrow.
It's still cloudy from the rain Sat. night.....

These are the birthday kids!!
My sis's birthday was yesterday and Clint's [ brothers son] is one day this week and he will shave his beard then!!!

This is only brother, sis in love [ his wife] and niece.

And this is Clint's important other who need prayers. She is having a health scare , she is the sweetest!!

The wind was really up when i made these pictures!

The bottom is a close up of the backing fabric
Makes a real good back. I washed it and it's all suuggly now.
The wind got in it really bad  almost didn't get a picture of it as it was.
