A Plantation Here in The South

We have seen logging trucks coming by here for weeks, one day we followed one going back and figure out that they were cutting the old McQuarter or Stubb's place. The only place around here that was a plantation with slaves many years ago. There was some depute with relatives that they didn't even know they had so they are cutting  to pay them off. It' over two hundred acres. Don't know if they cut enough to buy them off are not but they have quit cutting !

So yesterday we with Kim and Richard drove over their to see what was left!

I think their land goes to the foot of the mountain!
We saw lots of their place that wasn't cut but it looks like Ga. Power cut it and replanted it so I guess it sold to cut a few years ago.

It's sad to see these cut feilds.

Hugs

I imagine it IS sad. But at least it's being replanted. We have 150 acres so it's not hard for me to imagine how much land that IS. But this is a desert mountain so not so many trees here as rocks.

Is it being replanted or are they businesses on it there?
