August Finish's and nearly to the GIVEAWAY

Humid!!!!!
I finally finished Mark's quilt!

It turned out better than i thought it would!

  I finished Kim's Christmas Quilt this month too.

It was Beautiful, she sent me a picture of it on her bed. A snowman Dresden plate

One for my sweet daughter to go with her pillows that i made her for her birthday.

She loved it, that made me happy. She wanted a sea shell quilt so that what she got, mostly in the borders!

My' hugs and kisses" quilt that i made for my good friend,

She loved her's too!!!
And last but not least my fall bag.

I can't count Adens Quilt because i am not through with it yet.
But that's all that i am working on at this moment.

Hi friends!
Nice today!
When we were at Big Lots Tommy pointed out this little container to me and said' wouldn't this hold your thread?'
It is great for that the only problem is i should have got two!

When we went to Walmart this week i got me a bigger container to hold fat quarter's.  Same problem , i should have bought two or more.
But they are higher at Walmart then they are at Big Lots.  So the next time i go to Rome i will get me some more!!!
At least my fabric that i keep in the dining room all the time is  looking neater.
When  we have family dinners my machine's all go into the other bedroom on the bed and covers it up.
I have though about moving the bed in the other bedroom and moving my sewing in there but i would need to take up the carpet and that bedroom suite is so heavy and big that i don't know what we would do with them.
 Oh well the dining room is the furthered from the t.v. so that works great.  If i moved in there it would be loud in the living room.

Friday Finish and who i was making it for.

Hi friends!
Beautiful hot day!
I finished my lap quilt!

The sun was behind it so the out side pictures were not good!.
I have been saying i was going to give this to some one special.  Well my hair dresser is that some one, She has had a hard month, first her hubby was in the hospital and then she was in a car wreck.
When my mother was alive she would wash and set her hair for 5 dollars when other's were charging more because she new Mother was drawing a small check.  Later when my mother-in-law was in the nursing home she did her hair any time she asked for very little and some times free.
 so yesterday i went to get my hair cut and gave her the quilt!

She loved it!!!
She said she had never had a handmade quilt.
I am so glad she loved it.
It was made from fabric i won on aquiltingsheep Thank you Amy so much it is beautiful fabric, of course i added some fabric to it.

Our Day

Hi friends!
Beautiful day!
Got it sandwiched and quilting it now.

Its not big but it takes a while to quilt it.  It measures 52 by 68, perfect for a lap quilt.

Tommy jump started his old mower and cut part of the garden, mowed down the squash and cucumbers .  They were on their last legs!

It ran pretty good for not being used for a few years.  So he cleaned it up!!

He bought it  22 years ago but bought the john deer  eight years so hasn't run this one much since then.
It cleans up pretty good.

Today is a tractor day, he has to mow the south 40!
He loves his tractor, when you don't have a son and all your son- in- laws are at work,  this is the next best thing.

Lap Quilt!

Hi friends!
Beautiful hot day!
I made some more of these blocks so it would be a good sized lap quilt.

 I put them on my bed and moved them around so i could get the blocks the way i liked them.

If i had it to do over i would have used all bright colors.

I think i like it this way!

Got them all sewed together!  Now for a border!!!

Tiring to find one that works well with what i have in my quilt top.
I chose a blue flowered.  All the blocks in this quilt are made with a fat quarter bundle that i won from Amy at    a quiltingsheep
Got to get busy and work on it some more.

Fabric and soup

Hi friends!
Beautiful day!
These are the blocks i made Sunday.
Yesterday we were gone most of the day paying bills getting grocerys and Tommy going to the Dr..
We got home about 4:30 and i made soup

I had been planning on making some for a while but i keep giving away the tomato's. I also washed 3 loads of clothes! we didn't eat supper until 7.

I did get some fabric.  The green will be borders for the Camo quilt.  I haven't got the camo yet because i hadn't ordered in a while and they had sent us a new card and changed some things on it.  So i should get it this week!
The white with blue is just because!
It was calling my name!
Maybe i will get a lot of sewing today. If Tommy doesn't want to go some where.
If he needs gas for one of his toys we may have to go to town to get some.  Hopefully i should get to sew.

I have seen these called 'hugs and kisses' and some more names but i am going by "hugs and kisses"
Working hard to get a lots done on this for this week.

On this picture i have 3 double rows done and after that i did a bunch of single blocks to add to it.. It's going to be a lap quilt for some one that's having a hard time right now.

My great sewing room.

I am on the last phase of this quilt, sewing the lightning bolts on.
Just do maybe one of them and stop and sew on something else.  But i should be through with it this week .
Then i can give my darling grand son, his wife and his kids their quilt's.
At least i am feeling better, i didn't do much sewing last week at all.
Antibiotic's make me feel so bad.

Alisha's Birthday Pillow

Hi friends!
 We had my Alisha and her friend Sarah to spend the night last night. And i gave Alisha her birthday pillow. They are a mess!!!  Showboat every picture! Loved having them, they really liven up this old house. They both call me grand maw.

I haven't found a picture of her quilt on pinterest  so i will have to find it on a flash drive.
I must have just forgot to put in on there.
Her Mother came and got them a few minutes ago.
Anna , her older sis, is living with my son and his wife in Gainsville and going to college.
My son is looking for her a car to buy and she is looking for a part time job some where that will work with her college classes.
Jessica is still living with my daughter and going to college here..  Angel graduates from High School this next year.
The next year we have Jarrod and Allison graduating and maybe Mark or maybe that's the next year.. Then my daughter will only have 4 under 18.
They are all growing up so fast!!!!

'The Stitchery'

Hi friends!
Beautiful hot day!
Tommy had a Dr. apt. yesterday so i visited 'the stitchery' for a few minutes.
Read about it a while ago , can't remember what blogger i was reading , and was surprised that a quilt shop was that close to where i live.  It's in Rome !!!  A 30 minute drive!

They have lots of great fabric with some great prices
Lot's and lots.
All the toys that we just have to have. I bought me a new ruler with the 1/4 inch seam added and a charm pack.  They were 9.99 each.
When i start another quilt i will be there looking for some fabric.
The prices were very reasonable.
I could have spent hundreds their was sew much good stuff ! But Tommy was waiting and we had to go to his apt.

Look what they just bought, she said they would have it to rent after Christmas or maybe before.
There was some great quilt's hanging on the walls. Go to their site on the internet and sign up for their news letter.

It's run by one very sweet lady and i believe she said she ran it with some one else.  They have been open two years and i had never heard of it until i read that blog.

She has a lot of fabric and sales baby lock machines.

Another quilt .
Any one reading this that quilts should go down there.

Lola's quilt and pillow

I had a charm pack of Moda ' American Primer' so i decided to make my little Lola  a quilt and pillow that i told you'll about Monday. These colors don't show dirt like a lite charm pack would.

You can get some great
seams with a charm pack.

Some battening scraps and some flowery  backing, quilted in the ditch's.

Made the little pillow with charm squares batting, many layers, and flowery backing and you have a little small pillow for a doll.

And there is my happy baby with her doll.
