grandkids

Hi friends!!!  Got my grands over night , just 6 , jessie had to work, but they text her this morning when i started cooking breakfast and she was here by the time i took the biscuits out of the oven.
Her  mother was not far behind her and we had a nice long visit after we all had breakfast.
I  crocheted  last night so 3 of them had to try, two gave up so i sent a needle and yarn home with anna , she was still working on her's when they left.
Well you know how your house looks after 6 kids so i will get off here and clean.

Hi  friends!! Beautiful day.

I am about to get tired of pink!!!!!!
Want be sewing today because i will have 6 or 7 grand kids after a while.   That should cheer me  up!!!!! Some grand babies hugs.
Don't know what we would do with out grand kids.
Took me a while to clean off my dining room table of all my sewing stuff so we could eat there.   Hubby and i eat on the kitchen table and if red haired girl and her hubby eats supper with us we still use the kitchen because it  sits 4 .  
 Hubby is out side cutting grass with his tractor but earlier we picked a 1/2 bushel of purple hull peas and i got half of a basket of green beans.     Hubby likes to shell peas while he watches tv at night.  We may teach grand kids how to shell peas.
If i am not dead or passed out tomorrow i will talk to you then, 6 or 7 kids are a lot to cook for.   Have a great week end.  Quilt Happy

WORKING

Hi friends!!!    Another great sunny day!!!!
The bottom picture is the start of the baby quilt.    I have a long way to go!!!!
Some blocks and some i have put together.     Not got very far yet, but working on it.
I will have to put everything up tomorrow because grand kids are coming to spend the night.     I can't wait!!!
I am working on so many things right now that i am going around in circles.    But i have plenty of time .  I really enjoy being retired.     Especially with my baby.     He make me laugh when i get down.
I don't know if i could live without him, hopefully i will never have to.

Sunday i found sew lux!!!!
Wonderful place to buy fabric.... I will go back as soon as my husband get over the shock of this package.  A week or two....maybe

Aren't they beautiful!!!     I didn't wont to open it it was so pretty, all wrapped up like a Christmas present... I have been wanting to make a table runner for me.     And need more then what i had in my stash.
I got a email Monday and here it is.   That is real good service.

Feeling so much better today!!!  I had a good cry last night, because the 18th of august was when my son got killed in a car wreck. Many years ago but you never stop grieving for a child.
   We are both feeling better hubby is cutting the south forty after oiling his red tractor.  He was ill this morning because the dealer sold him a whole lot more than he needed, all i know is it cost 50something  dollars for oil and a filter.  Everything you buy now cost so much to keep up.
Well i have fussed enough

Beautiful day here, wish as could say the say for us!!!!!!
We got our results and every thing is good but we feel like crap.  Pardon my french please.
But neither one of us are worth any thing today.    To much running around yesterday i guess.

Last week i got a package from debi, some things she had cut and didn't wont so she sent them to me to go in to a grand baby quilt.  Wasn't that sweet!!!. And believe me i will use them and so many.  Tt blue my mind.

She blogs at quiltingwithdebi   Tried to link but my crazy computer wouldn't do it. She is the sweetest person and you should get there and read her blog.

Hi friends!!!  A rainy day!!!
We went to give our blood to the dr. today, then  went and got gravy biscuits at hardies then went and voted for our local sheriff's race,and bought things at walmart  We were wore out buy 1 0clock....
Haven't done much sense then but watch it rain.
They said it would be here by tonight but they were wrong.

I got some new  blades and they cut like a dream, my old one was skipping a lot.
Found some pink back in the quilters supply in the fabric section. That is what i put in this block and got 2 more yards of white.  Some of their fabric feels just like the good kind!!!!!

I am hoping our blood work comes back good, didn't used to worry until the last time when i had to go back and re test.  But it was good.  So this time i gave up any sugar a couple of days ago.
Going back to sewing  love you guys   I have made some good friends on this blog and i love it.

good book

Hi friends!!!  Sunshiny day!!!
I don't push books much. and i am not getting paid to say this but this is a gooooood  book.  A good book holds you from the first page and surprises you in the ending.  Then it has a real good short story afterwards.
 The name is 'the silent girl'   by tess gerritsen
I love all her books but this one is a little out there.  But a real  good read.
Not many hold me and keep me from wanting to read blogs or sew, but this one did..
It's a beautiful sunny day here and hubby is mowing up a storm!!!    So maybe i will have sewing time.
We found out yesterday that one of our great grands is going to be a girl so i will have to start making a small pink quilt. She  is not due till jan. so there's should be plenty of time..

still plugging along

Hi friends!!
A rainy cloudy day. this make 3 of them and it is making me draggy to......
Some of my great blocks are a little to small so i am working on making 12 inch ones .  Some of them that i love i might add a tiny border to make them big enough.
I really like the disappearing 9 patch as you can see , i have made bunches of them.  I may take a few  of the to small that i love and make a table runner out of them.  All i can say is i am glad i told red haired girl that it would be Christmas before  it would be ready.    It make take longer than that!!!!!!!
We are staying home today so i can clean house and sew.  But i have done more moving squares around and around than any thing else.
Tomorrow will be a better day.
We have gotten over 3 1/2 inches of rain in the last 4 days and i dread going in that wet garden.  You come out wet all over .
Got to get busy even if i  feel like going back to bed.

ANOTHER GREAT WIN!!!

Hi friends!  Good to 'see' you.
I carried my 4 youngest grandkids to the dentist today, it was storming!!  Then i came home and hubby took me out to eat for our    15th anniversary . It was good!!! I had broiled cat fish.  It was very good. So you see i am still thinking about that bloodwork we go  for on Monday.
Do you see that bunch of scraps  , i won brooke's scrap giveaway again. How is that for lucky!!!
And look at those labels she put in there!!!  I was just thinking that i needed to get me some for my quilts.  She has the best scraps ever.  I have used a bunch on red haired girl's quilt.
It stormed here last night, nearly 2 inches, today while i was caring the grandkids back home after visiting the dentist it pour on us. We get nearly 1 1/2 inches today.
 We went thou the drive thou and got them some take out at McDonald because they are the best kids going to the dentist, have never shed a tear.  I can't brag on then enough.  All 7 of the kids she still has at home are the best behaved kids. you can take them anywhere and they are good, must be because when you have a lot of kids they look at for each other. I have been caring them sense the baby was 4, he is 9 now.

It's another good day!!!

I love that little cook book it has some great jam recipes in it that i will just have to try
and that fabric is beautiful.  I may have to put a little of that blue in my quilt.   She is the sweetest person.  We have talked back and forth every sense i won her giveaway.
You just meet the nicest people that quilts!!!
Got back on the treadmill last night for the first time sense i got that uti and now hubby is on it, he get on it when his legs hurt.
I put up 4 quarts of beans today ,got more to throw away this time of year and less to go in the jars.
Well i think will will go and my some of my made by hand biscuits for supper.

Hi friends!!!
Great day i feel better so maybe i can get more done....
Made some more blocks ,can't have to much pink because her husband will sleep under it to.
Hubby is outside changing the oil in his john deere. If he doesn't burn up he is going to change  the oil in his red tractor too.
 Thursday is our 15th anniversary, honey i lucked out when i got this one!!!! I love him dearly!!!!  He is the best!!!!  My first husband drank and that is a life of misery , so it makes be love him all the more!!!!
My favorite , there are no favorites things about him every thing is great.  He is not perfect but when he gets mad it's with a tool or a lawn mower.  Any thing i wont he says get it!!!! But i handle the bills so i know what i can get and what i can't
Need i say it , he makes me very happy

Hi friends!!!
Wonderful day...
I finished up my cirpo yesterday and though i would feel great today.....  not.   It didn't work  Maybe tomorrow!!!!
I am still making blocks and i will need a lot to make a queen sized quilt.   I used 48 in my daughters quilt.
I have a whole lot more to do!!!!
Trying to find more blocks so i can have a good mix. I am really liking the ones  on this page.
We both have the down in the dumps today so not much going on.
 My sister-in-law went to the long yard sale sat. and found a lady with home made quilts for 10$ each but she didn't buy any, later she though she would buy one a two and somebody had bought them all. I could have kicked her!!!!!
She is around sis and i and doesn't know how much old quilts are worth!!!!
She said you know when you wash them they bunch!!!
I wish she had called me.
But she is a dear any way. she is a really good s-i-l. i love her dearly.  She and my brother have been married for 47 years i think.  I may be wrong but i am close.

Hi friends!!!
Another great day that god has made!!!!  I didn't sleep 15 minutes last night, hurt all night!!! I didn't get  enough pain pills in me last night and was on the  road to much yesterday.  Arthritis's is a bad bed mate!!!
That top bear i made back when i was single , my sis brought 2 sewing machines and all the stuff to fix bears one year after Christmas  we,me sis,and mel amm,  made bears.   I had a sewing machine at the time . We had a ball, but poor mel couldn't sew so hers was pitiful.  They don't teach that in school any more. 
The one on the bottom is one sis made me for Christmas one year.  Her's was much better then mine .   She made a bunch and that black one is all i ever made.  I think she did it in mohair or mink.
Called sis-in-law this morning and they came over and got nearly a bushel of beans,some hot peppers, corn and a pot holder i made them.
Hubby is watching the race so i am going to get in some sewing.!!!!!!

We went to Rome to get hubby's birthday present, a new pair of asics.
We stopped at brothers and gave them 1/2 bushel of green beans, then went down there. When we got back to town we eat out because it was late and we had 3 more stops to make
We have just been home a little while
I was looking at that fabric i won trying to see a purse but i think it might be to light, to easy to get dirty.
Maybe i could do the bottom in a dark solid color.

Hi friends!!
The first picture is the sun coming out after a rain. The second is the shirt that hubby wares with his overhauls to cut the grass and i though it was so funny.
That cirpo is making me feel bad now. at first it makes me feel good and after i get a few days worth in me it wares me out.
I feel like a limp dishrag.
No sewing or are  any  thing else, just reading blogs and doing what is necessary.
I hate the way it makes me feel. but it's cheap and it works!!!!

  Hi friends!
 I am putting up these bad boys today ,making 8 quarts.   Seven are in the cannier boiling away and one is waiting it's turn.
In just a little while ,when the sun gets off  the garden, we will pick beans and peas.

I worked on the quilt last night and i am going to get jack the ripper to it in a while and mix up the blocks.  I don't like the same blocks on one line..
