Friday Finish

Hi friends!
I have a finish!
Shania's quilt is finish. Just needs all the threads trimmed.

No wind out today so all my pictures look alike.

I finished binding by hand last night and then sewed the binding down two times to make it secure for our sweet three year old  baby.
Maybe next week I can post pictures with her with it.
My strip quilt is moving along.

Their are seven 12 inch blocks on each row and the fall on each side is 14 inches.
Need to do two more rows and it should be good.

Jackson's Quilt

Hi friends!
Started cutting up Jackson's t- shirts yesterday. Some have bigger than 12 inch sayings on the front of back so I will be working with three sizes .

Looks like I will have plenty to work with.

A big pile.

When we went to Walmart I got another yard of Paw Patrol to Make Gaven a quilt  soon.

Got the binding sewed down on this and trimmed so it's on the couch waiting for me to sew it down.
I will work on Jackson's and cut the rest,I hope, of his up today plus I plan to walk since the sun is shining.

Good Buy

Hi friends!
Found this white on sale at Walmart yesterday for 2 dollars a yard so bought it all.

Did a little quilting on Shania's quilt.
Mostly I read after I walked, It was cold!

Finished this. Was very good. She has had her Twins.
Last week Tommy was very busy, he cleaned the gas heater in the dining room , was not happy with it so we went and bought some supplies and he replaced it. It was over 40 years old.

Nice new heater.

Landon and Tori's Quilt

Hi friends!
I have been working on these , got so many on my wall that when I ran the vacuum they all came flying off.
So I put them into a tote  and started again.

Added these in the last few days.
A few more and I will lay them out on the bed and see how I want to place them.
Beautiful blocks! And I love the pattern they make.

Spent yesterday cutting to make those blocks.
I just lay them all out and sew each line together. then sew the lines together. All of these have not been trimmed yet.
Will do that when I have enough.

My Weekend

Hi friends!
Spent most of my weekend making my backing for this quilt and Shania's, some I had added earlier just didn't like.
Friday when I started to sew on my feather weigh it wouldn't run.
So I spent hours trying to get a tiny thread out from behind my bobbin case. Dropped the gib screw into the part where the needle went and had to turn it upside down to get it out!
Then was afraid I would lose it  , put every thing back and got my hubby to screw it in.
That would have to win a award for being the tininess screw in the world.
Got my backing finished finally and needed to add another strip of fabric to the backing for this quilt.

Now I was ready to sandwich these.

Got this one sandwiched . Still need to iron .

Then this one! So at lest I am moving on with these, just need to iron with starch and they will be ready for quilting.

String Quilt

Hi friends!
Going to start on a t-shirt quilt for Jackson, this is what I ordered to start it.
Also I was out of inst-bright and I need some of that.  Used all of mine up making 20 something double pot holders before Christmas.

I have been adding another block to each end of the one I already had made.
 Want it to be nearly a king size.

Still making a few of these every week.

Finished three so far

Trimming Tri-angles

Hi friends!
I made  a big pile of tri-angles yesterday for Landon and Tori's quilt.

 Lots of tri-angles

These rulers are great for squaring up your tri-angles.
You just center your seam with the line and trim.

You will be amazed at how much better your blocks line up after you trim them.

 You can get them at any quilting shop on line I love mine

Shania's Quilt

Hi Friends!
This piece of fabric I decided to use like a panel because one yard to the next repeated.
So the whole yard was one scene.
I found some panels but they were out of stock after Christmas .
Since she is three and loves paw patrol ,
It's just all paw patrol decided not to make blocks.

Went with this!
To lengthen it I added some dots.

Then I added the bright red.

Ended up with a twin to full sized quit top.

 Now to get it sanwiched.

Jewel Box Quilt

Hi friends!
Made three of the jewel box blocks. Made this one wrong!

You can sew things on wrong when you are talking !
At least I can!
we had a quite weekend , got up Sunday after Tommy had coughed all night and I hadn't sleep because my hip was hurting so we didn't make it to church.
That happens when it rains all night.
Getting old is not for sissy's!
Though we would be going to the Dr. today but He was better this morning.

Made another one yesterday.
Right now I am just having fun making blocks, will think about how to lay them out as I go.
 Like the way it makes other blocks when joined.

All of these are just made from tri-angles and four 2 1/2 inch squares but it's it neat?

Janurary Q-Bees

Hi friends!
It was cold in the church where we meet Sat.

Vickie had made Dianne a scarf for Christmas.

Dianne has been working on these.

She is intending to sale them at market.

I took this and showed it.
 Susan brought a pattern for a wheelchair hanging pocket for us to consider making and she is going to make us all a pattern. Just for a little something different from what we carried last year. But as that nursing home was so big we decided to make some more for another unit this year.
We also decided to let anyone that wanted to make a veteran's quilt make one  and some of the girls as going to share making one .
That way we can give more quilts this year on veterans day.
During these early months we are going to have our meeting on Saturday mornings at least until the time changes again.
So some that can't see good at night can come.
We had one new member that I hope keeps coming. Another Barbara Gale. that makes three Barbara's now in our group. We missed Gladys ,she always keeps us laughing and Bonnie who was visiting her daughter.

String Quilt

Hi friends!
Still working on my string quilt.

Doing one when I have a few minutes.

Started Landon and Tori's quilt , so far one block.

Loving this block!
We went and bought groceries yesterday but when we got home Tommy said "I forgot to get Tylenol"
So I guess we will got back today. A couple of other things that he had forgot to write on my list will have to be bought to. He likes Tylenol 8 hour gel.
Suppose to get to 50 today so I will walk later.
