Fighting with A Quilt

Not lining up like I want it to!
See right now I need to use the ripper!
Oh well it's the weekend so I can play with it maybe Sunday night.

Going to take the top row off and see if I can adjust it but didn't really want it bigger.
Just the way things go when you see it in your head!

Twin's Quilts

Got a little done!
The twins mother was on face book this morning asking for prayers for the twins, didn't say what kind of problem she was having.
So friend's how about adding her to your pray list.
She is the tiniest little thing anyway.

Second Twin Quilt

Hi friends!
We went to look for Tommy a pair of shoes yesterday! We found me a outfit to wear to the wedding and some other things and then  I hung on the buggy waiting for Tommy.
I love Hamricks for shopping for clothes and since we had already looked at every pair of shoes in our country , though we might find him some there. He did pick me out a real pretty outfit!
Nope he tried on just about every shoe in the store!
So I guess we will go to Rome next!

I made one block last night! I was tired!

But it's getting there!  Maybe by this weekend I can sandwich some quilts
Hopefully the twins will wait for me! Not due until July!

Twin Quilts

Hi friends!
Worked on this for a while Saturday.

Started putting it together.

One row at a time.

Joining each block then adding them to the main body of the quilt.

That's the first one and I started making blocks for the second one.

Yesterday we had company so I didn't get much done. Made plans for next Sunday.
Tell you more later.
It's still raining here today!
They said we had gotten about 25 inch's since Dec. the first.
25 inch's in three months and this month isn't over.
We may still float off!
Good thing we live on the side of this hill!

Two Twin Quilts

Hi friends!
We got a little snow yesterday but this was our temp!

When it quit snowing the temp dropped all after noon.

That light blue has a greenish tent to it.
Worked on it awhile

Sewed these together! Then made another light blue one.

Maybe I will get some thing done on these this weekend.

Still Raining

Hi friends!
Didn't have much time yesterday to work so I quilted this a little.
I'm sure you have days when it's one thing after another and it's to late to sew.

But at least I got my fifteen minutes!
Need to start working on the pillow shams that I am going to make with this quilt .
Haven't talked to Jessica since she graduated and now she is working but when I finish I will send her a message. Facebook is good for something!!!!!!!
That is a good way to talk to them, they answer when they have time!
Not waking up a day sleeper! Have no idea what hours she works!
She's My Daughter's oldest girl and a real sweetie and beautiful, inside and out. But all 22 of  my grands are handsome and beautiful!
Raining here !  We are suppose to have a dry day or two them rain again.
We are about to float away!
Glad we live on the side of a hill!

Dark Blue Twin Quilt

Hi friends!
That might be a little wide for a baby quilt, closer to a queen.

When I join them they want be this wide!

Today I will start joining them to see what I can do with all this blocks.
Kim came over and spent a few hours with us yesterday, had us laughing at the antic's of those two year old's she keep where she works.
Their at least 10 in her class.
Some of them are true comic's.
It was good to spend time with her, don't see our kids enough.
We are still getting free drinking water, don't have any idea when they will get it fixed.
We carry jugs to get some clean water for our coffee, have to have our pot of Go Juice every morning.
suppose to snow in the morning! We will see!

Finished Top

Hi friends!
I keep adding tops when I need to quilt for a while.

One thing, it will be colorful!

Using up lots of fat quarters that I had cut some off of.

Lots of solids to.

Now I have two tops to sandwich but I want to finish the twin's quilts first so I can do them in the order I need them. Don't want to run out of battening on a twins quilt.
Haven't even started working on the second twins quilts yet so I guess that's what I will be doing today.

Twin's Quilt

Hi Friends!
Went back to working on the twins quilt.

So many of these must have been from Noah's Ark fabric because it's in twos!

Got a few of them done last night.
Hoping to do some more today.

Noticed I had done two of the elephants in dark blue and I will have to take that off one of them.. Must have been to late to sew!

Nearly A Top

Hi friends!
Started yesterday! Didn't do much !

Today I should be able to finish it , just needs about four strips, two on each side. Or some time this weekend.
Our paper came out yesterday and I don't know any more than I did.  The water is either not good for us or it's O K to drink for a limited time. or maybe it just not for woman that are pregnant.
So we will continue to drink filtered water just to be on the safe side.. But they are saying most filters don't take it out!
Maybe that's the reason we have so much cancer in our county.
You know Tommy had a cancerous tumor cut from his upper intestines nearly five years ago but he drank well water for years .
I couldn't drink that smelly water  [ limestone water] when I moved over here so I got city water run to the house.
To him city water smells so we bought pitchers with filters and we have been here 20 years next month.

Water every where

Ho friends!
This was the top when I started on it yesterday.

After working on it for a while.
I made it longer so It could be used as a bed spread.

Need to cut some red so it will have more color!
Any scrap big enough for a 5 inch square I am using!
Got lots of strings from cutting out squares , so will have to make another string quilt.
Never ending thing!
The paper came out today and I read what it said and it still doesn't make sense!
 Its safe to drink and it's not safe to drink!
They have known we were drinking it for five years and just got around to telling us!

Says it can't hurt us in short term but five years is long term in my book
We went for the first time to get free water yesterday and Chattanooga channel 9 was doing their thing,. Asked me if I minded talking to them but I had seem the camera and said no but it showed us pulling up and getting water.
The lady right after us talked.

Making Another Top

Hi friend!
Aimless sewing! Rounded up all the charm packs and part packs that I have that wasn't Christmas and started sewing them together.

Waiting for the next row.

Keeps growing!

Cutting a few from larger scraps.

Need to sew some together to make it longer. This will be for us I guess , just using up pieces of fabric. Not that we need another quilt! Have them stacked in a pile in our bedroom, just in case we need them.

Another Top

Hi friends!
All those blocks are going together now!

A Christmas quilt for one of my family.

They look so pretty!

Though for a while I would have to make up some more blocks to have it big enough for a queen sized bed.

With saching it should be just about right.

Hoping to have enough to add just a tiny border.

Three rows.

Four and ready for the fifth.

It's a top!
Water is still a problem here, they knew of the problem in 2015 but hadn't done anything , saying now it could take a year to get it fixed.  Now it's just dangerous for pregnant woman and nursing babies which we don't have around our place much, just visiting maybe.
We have one old Brita pitcher with a new filter that we are filtering water for the dog. Wondering now if that was what killed our other dog?
Course he was around 17 years old! We got them both when our collage students were around 2 or 3.
