Q-Bees

Hi Friends!
We had a good turn out last night. Imogene has the shingles so she wasn't there. Iva Nell was sick to.
We had a few items to show and tell, I brought my good night Irene wheelchair quilt. Sis brought one.

Fay brought one.

Really cute!

The ladies from the quilt shop.

They brought lots of good fabric for us to buy. She said they would quilt charity quilts for a whole lots less then others, plus she gave us a discount last night.

Lots of fat quarters , lots of bolts some for as little as $2.99.
We also had some great snacks to munch on.

She was cutting and the other lady was ringing it up . The white is for a log cabin that I want to make for us.
Mostly of it is for Quilt's of Valor,  And the yardage was some I had never seen for a quilt of valor.
If we make it till next year we will make another one . A lot of us are each making one this year and I am sure next year we will to.
We have lots of veterans in our little county.

Jessica's and Richard's Quilt

Lengthen a few more strips!

Pinned a few ! Then sewed them up!

Got this far and stopped for supper.

I am taking my Good Night Irene wheelchair quilt for show and tell.
Our guest tonight is the owner of the first quilt shop we visited on our trip in May. The shop in Ringold.
Next month Sis may do a teddy bear demonstration if she isn't out with surgery.
Her surgeon said the first opening that comes available. Last year at this time she had her shoulder operated on, a couple of  weeks ago she had her appendix taken out. But that was a surprise!
She wants to get every thing fixed so she can travel more.

Quilt of Valor

Hi friends!
Still working on the Quilt of Valor.

The two big middle ones were in a panel I bought. The flags were fabric That I bought some where.

Still not sure of placement but I like the idea.
This morning we saw a dead kitten down the road, right on the road a few feet from my track that I walk on.
Some one must have thrown it out of a passing car. because their are no cat's around that haven't been fixed.And people do that here ! We find dogs that some one had thrown out here to.
We have a pound but they are to lazy to carry it there.
Maybe they think some one on this road will take it in but that one was to small to get out of the road

This is the prettiest my tiger lily's has been in the 19 years we have lived here.
When we first moved here I planted lots of flowers but that drought we had a couple of years ago killed a lot of them.
It got all my Hosta, I keep thinking I will get me some more.

I buy petunia's every year but the rest was sent when some one died and I just put them on the  covered  porch every winter, none of them have recovered yet from the porch.
Well need to sew for a while

Jessica's and Richard's Quilt

Hi friends!
Saturday when I had time to play I worked on Jessica's and Richards Quilt.
Getting some of the strips longer.

Going to work on it today to.

Ran out of time with not even half of the strips sewed. Maybe I can get the rest of the one's I started to the right length today but I am sure I need to make some more. These don't hang down off the sides so this much maybe two more times..

My three Wheelchair quilts. Each one of us were suppose to make three this year. The one on top is cheater cloth, on the right is charms sewed together and the left one is the good night Irene one I just finished.
Need to sandwich the quilt top that was donated to the Q-Bees and get it quilted soon.

This is it! I thought maybe quilt in the ditch but I think I read that you couldn't do that on quilts of valor, I will have to check.
They donated two and I brought one home to finish.
It's in good shape but I will wash it .

Third Wheelchair Quilt

Hi friends!

Big good night Irene blocks. Quilted with loops.

Measure's a little bigger than the required measurements but when it has been washed it want.
We had a pretty quit weekend.
Worked on this Friday and finished , this  makes three.

Worked on this some over the weekend to.
Yesterday every time I started cutting something I cut the wrong thing! Finally just gave up!
Not getting enough sleep. Two or three hours every night is not enough so going to Dr to see if he can help. With me five are six is plenty but right now I feel like a zombie.

Bought this yesterday! See when I sew I save money because I don't cruse the Internet. As long as I stay off of fabric stores. Julie Rose   Here  has been doing these and right now they have a big sale so I got this to see if I can spend more than I already do! It's diamond painting.
Though it would make great Christmas gift's for next year.

Quilt , Bloglovin

Hi friends!
Worked on the binding last night.

Maybe tonight I will finish.

Any way it's waiting for me!
Have any of you'll noticed how our Bloglovin count changed? Mine was 260 and then one day it went down to 230. Why I don't know but I liked those people and didn't want to lose them.
It was just over night to!

Didn't do any sewing yesterday but should get a bunch done this weekend.
 I like to spend the afternoon sewing and save the hand sewing for night when the t v is boring me.
Right now nothing is on but Tommy will watch Nascar races .

Third Wheel Chair Quilt

Hi friends!
I already had this one ready to quilt so I went ahead and did that.

Added binding, some old fashioned fabric that I felt like went with it.

It's on the couch waiting for me to have some sit down time.

Cooks has ripe tomato's, can't wait for that tomato sandwich.
Got some just dug red potatoes , squash and a small head of cabbage.
They plant in cups before Christmas in big flat bed trucks, when it's bad they back them into big buildings so it want frost on them , transplants them long before we plant ours on their river bottom farm.
They taste nearly as good as our own does! But we want have any for at least a month.

Jessica's and Richards quilt

Hi friends!
Well it's a start!

I have been just every once in a while sewing a string of these together so I laid them out to see how much more I need . A lots!
Not as much as I have done but I need to cut some more. Need to add to some of these just to make them long enough to.
Should have a top in a couple of weeks now.
Will be working on the Veterans quilt to.

I ran across this the other day, my mother and two brothers, I was the oldest.  Hard to believe that that has to be 74 years ago at least. Some one off to the right must have said something funny and she is trying not to laugh.
So many years gone!
I didn't quilt when Mother was alive , was totally against sewing after sewing for 25 years in a mill.
took me a few years, I use to make my kids clothes before I went to work. Plus all of mine!
Haven't made anything since to ware, just quilts.

wheel Chair Quilt

Hi friends!
Got this one ironed !

Got it quilted.

Two wheel chair quilt  , one more to go.

Got the next one sandwiched and waiting.
Then I worked on my Quilt of Valor.

Made this block, found the fabric at Walmart yesterday.
Also this was a dollar a yard.

With my grands and great-grands this should come in handy.
