Sewing and Tractor

Hi friends!
Backing for my quilt of valor!
I added some to the bottom but had to take it off last night. Wasn't big enough!
I will be looking for something to go with it after while.

I can cut some off on the side.
Let you know when I figure it out!

Hubby worked on his tractor yesterday and is very sore today! He though his tractor was broke but thank goodness it wasn't.
Costs lots of dollars to get one fixed!
Then he went down and cut near our next door neighbor Larry's place that he bough from Hubby.I went out once and didn't hear the tractor running so I knew they were talking.
Made another bib and burp cloth yesterday and looked for a bag to put that stuff in.

Yesterday!

Hi friends!
A couple of more cut!
I sewed none yesterday!
We went to get groceries , came home and put them up and took off to the mountain to visit hubby's sister.
Didn't get home until after seven.
So no time to sew!

This big limb fell while we were gone.
I bet our dog was having a fit!

Two big dents in the roof over the shed.
Maybe we had some wind while we were gone!
WE have lots of big trees to fall so hopefully "Doran" want head this way.

A Finish!

Hi friends!

Backing for the baby boy quilt.

I added tractors and baseballs and other boy stuff.

Pressed back and front good!

Stitched in the ditch.

Red with white dot binding!
Two day finish! I will take it to church Sunday but I will see what else I can make before then.

Now to make some more of these.

Scrap Baby Quilt

Hi friends!
Needed a gift for a baby shower. A girl from our Church, so this weekend I worked on a scrap one.

I cut a lot of my scraps 41/2 inch so this was easy.

I added a few boys things into it since it's for a boy.

Got it big enough yesterday so today maybe I can get it sandwiched.
I am hoping any way.
It started raining here Sunday morning.
Right when my son and his wife got here. They came up to buy some chickens!
Something had got a few of theirs and they eat fresh eggs.
Michael and Ashley came over to eat breakfast with us. Hadn't seen any of them since Christmas.
Really enjoyed seeing them. Their girls are both at college.
Empty Nester's! But they aren't alone , the girls left their pets for Chris and Amy to take care of.
And Addie is going to be a Vet. so she has a bunch! She used to bring home hurt animals and nurse them back to health.
I remember when she was 18 months old and she always wanted to feed Missy's horses  A little tiny thing and that hand would go out to let them eat a apple off her tiny hand. And she would giggle!!!
They grow up so fast! Now in College!

Quilt Show

 Sis and I went to the Ringold Quilt Show Sat.

They had a bigger building  than we did when we had our show and had it full.

 MY Sis.

Lots of beautiful quilts.

Had the devil of a time getting my pictures off my phone and I never have before!
Ended up mailing them to myself!

Sandwiching!

Hi friends!
Got it sandwiched!

Some left over to cut off and use on the side! Then I cut the battening for another quilt.

So as soon as I get some backing made for the Christmas quilt I will have two to quilt.
I may do that today or work on the backing for the other one ! Love having my afternoons for playing.
We plan on going to a quilt shop tomorrow so pictures Monday.

Random things

Hi friends!
Worked on the backing yesterday, I cut the longer off cut it into and added it.

Don't care for this but it will do! But still not enough.
I think I will try to sandwich it because It may be to long and I can use that.

These were piling up and I hate to waste any thing so I worked on these yesterday.

Got a bunch more from the garden and still didn't get three quarts.
But that will come in handy this winter.
They are just about gone!

Need to make Jessica another double pot holder to , she loved the one I gave her.

Strip Quilt Finished

Hi Friends!
A finish!

I used s Red -dot fabric to bring out the reds.

Been a while since I finished one, a couple of months at least.
Feels good to use up so many strips .
It's a large queen sized.
Now to find a good pattern to use up the other scraps that I am still covered up with.
Saw a scrap tulip I may check out.

Jessica and Richard's Quilt

Hi friends!
Made backing for Jessica and Richard's quilt. .

Good on that side!

Not on that one.
Might could cut the bottom off and use it.

It's a good bit longer on one side.
I will let you know what I decide.
 We had a quite weekend, went to church and had one saved.
I was hoping some one would come by so we could get ride of the rest of the tomato's. May have to put up some more , hate to see them rot.

Strips

Hi friends!
Started working on this yesterday! Got the strips sewed to add another row.
About the time I got the  forth row pinned to the  third row Tommy said "less go buy grocers".
So that finished up my time for sewing !
I tossed the cover on the sewing machine and got ready!

Today is moping day so I hope to sew a little more!
Tommy has to cut grass! That tad of rain we got is making the grass grow.

That's the hard part , like "wrestling a bear"! Adding the four rows to the three rows that I have sewed together.
 But then all I have to do is bind it!

Sewing!

Hi friends!
Finished it like this but I like a lap quilt big enough to take a nap under so off those come.

Found this and added it, a wine color with babes in a manger.
Then I added the fabric that Kim picked out.

Seeing if that works! Going to leave it and think on it .

Total amount of my canning and my tomato's are just about finished.
Started another diamond painting.

Santa with a scene inside his cape. I ordered 6 more two weeks ago, maybe some day they will get here! Just takes so long! I ordered from a place that said 7 to 10 days , boy were they wrong!
We just stayed home yesterday and I got a little sewing and seam ripping done.

Kim's Quilt

Hi friends!
A little hot in the south! Our sun-room was 81 with the air on!

I worked a Kim's quilt a while yesterday. After canning! Put four jars into the cannier but after I went into the sun-room to watch the news one blew up.

Most of my jar are very old. Some I bought 20 years ago but a lot were Tommy's mother's that she used and she quit canning in 84. I lost one last year to!

Think I am going to work on Kim's today to see if I can finish the top . Maybe it want be so hot today since that front went threw and I can get some sandwiched. We drank our coffee on the porch again, Tommy hadn't been able to breathe out their the last few days with the humidity so high.
Got plenty of tops to sandwich.
