Walking!

Hi friends!
The sun shined two whole days this week!
So I walked outside instead of the treadmill.These are at least one month early!

Love walking outside in the sun shine.  The temps have been in the high 50's.
Every thing is up hill here because we are on the side of the hill.
I can tell it's been months since I walked outside, my body complains!
Yesterday I waited to walk and the temps went to 60 but then started going back down.
I cut some more and found a bunch more of the boy scraps so I will spend my weekend cutting scraps.
Plus trying to figure out a pattern for each quilt.

Cutting up scraps

Hi friends!
I started cutting for the twins quilt yesterday.
Though I would do one  light and one  dark blue solids  for them so you can tell which is which.
But the same pictures on each one.
Cutting up a bunch of boy fabric scraps.

I will be diving in tubs today and dragging out more scraps.
And see just want I need to buy.

Nearly A Top

Hi friends!
What do you think?
Not the Christmas red I was thinking about but trying to use up a lot of yardage that I have. Plus it does have Santa on it!

Got all my blocks done!
 I may find something else I love better so I will look before I go any further.
I have lots of Christmas fabric!
Because I love it! My favorite holiday because I get to make things for people I love. But boy is it hard to find things to make for men.
My son last year told me he needed another apron with longer ties. He use their grill a lot.
And I made my brother one because he cooks on the grill a lot to. Tommy just helps me cook in our kitchen and I made him a john deer one a few years ago.

Blocks

Hi friends!
Making blocks!
I decided to make it a Christmas quilt because of so much reds. I have a few blocks that doesn't have red in them but just a few. I may make some more with red in them.

Made nine then took them down and stopped for supper.

After supper I made one more.
Then I quit for the day!
Put my computer in the shop!
This old lap top just works when it's plugged in !
But it still works.
Told them I would not be in a hurry for it but now I am wanting it back! This thing you charge it and in a few minutes you have to plug it back up.

Hi friends!
Made a few more of these and yesterday I started  trimming.

Making 9 1/2 inch blocks.

I had piles of scraps .
I though I would use green around them.

 Made two of them just to see!
Our preacher and his wife are having twins! So I plan on making some twin quilts.
Trying out ideas in my head but not sewing on those yet.
Those and my daughter's quilt will be my next two projects.

Still cuttung and Sewing

Hi friends!
I sewed yesterday, didn't the day before. The same thing cut and sew.

It was cold and rainy so I made a pot of soup. Leftovers today.

But I did add to my pile of squares.
Still raining today!
Didn't sew Wednesday because we stayed on the road to long.

Need to cut and sew up some more today to make up ,more blocks.

More Cutting

HI friends!

Defiantly need some more!

So yesterday I  cut some more.

Last night after supper I went out side to throw away some Lettice and  there was 6 deer's right by my porch.

Shocked me and them! They took off but then stopped and looked like "is that for me"

I am sure they ate it!

Wish I had had my camera.

Cold is suppose to leave , just get a little warmer each day so that is good! Hate not getting out! Be glad for spring so I can walk outside. That treadmill hurts my knees! Sure don't need and problems for my knees!

Cold weather.

Hi friends!

Sis came over and brought me over some books and scraps.  More scraps for my 16 patch blocks. While she was here we watched the temp. dropping fast. Went from 38 down to 29 in just a little while.

After she left Tommy decided to clean the heater, today he is cleaning the living room ones. He says it puts out more heat now?

I still have some scraps to!

My pile is still growing!

Going to cut up some more today.

Tommy went to get the mail , said it was cold and the wind is blowing making it extra cold.

Not like up North but cold for us.

Weekend Sewing

Made blocks from just about all of these and had to cut some more.

Never made just a simple 16 patch so I though I would do that.

Got quit a stack done!

Need to iron them but want to make a few more first.

Cutting Strips

Hi friends!

Been making four patches! All the scraps that were big enough I cut three inch strips from.

Not sure where I will go but thinking bordered 12 patch blocks.

This came yesterday! Dawn  sewyouquilt2.blogspot.com sent us all a email with this Missouri star  deal! That rotary cutter holder was something I didn't have and it and one fat quarter was just two cents! Couldn't pass that up!

Of course I had to add to it!

I always use white some where in a quilt or all over it so I always need white. The charm pack was suppose to be white to but I nave never seen so many differences in white until I started making quilts.

My pile of strips are running low so I need to clean up some more.. Not sewing any together until I finish.

Got a good pile going but  not enough. 

I will cut some more strips today and make more!

Still Cutting

Hi friends!

Slowly but surely I am cutting up scraps and cleaning up my sewing room.

My daughter wants me to make her a quilt but she hasn't picked her colors yet. So when she does I will be back to sewing.

Of course If I run into something in blogland that strikes my interest I may sew that.  You know how that goes.

Doing a little house work and cutting a little every day!

You can just barely see the white through the trees, that house used to be rented but the last renters were saleing drugs and cars went in and out 24/7 so when the last ones moved , our neighbors bought it to keep it from happening again.
They live on the other side of the barn.

You can see part of their house  behind the barn on this side.

Cars went going past their bedroom windows all night long.

He put up a trail cam but the law couldn't do anything unless they caught them and being behind their house no body could see them doing it.  The law would park on our driveway but still couldn't see!

So they were really tickled when they moved and bought it up so no more drugs could be sold from there.

They have had it for a year or two and it's been so much quitter.

Bad when they had to go in debt just to keep crooks away.

Dreary wet day here today.

suppose to get a couple of inch's.

Maybe I will get some more done

Randon Thoughts

Hi friends!

Got a little clean-up going in the sewing room.

Filling a tub with pieces not to small for later cutting.

Right now I am just doing three inch strips.

My sewing room is still a mess!

But I am working in my moments that I feel better..

Tommy has been on the roof three times in the last two weeks and may have found the leak, at least it didn't leak on the porch on Sat.

Now we are suppose to get showers for the next three days!

All I do is read and pittle waiting for the antibiotics to run out, hoping I get some energy.

We watch the robot vacuum work ! Doesn't take much to entertain us does it.

He does a good job just takes him a while.

Round up of nothing

Hi friends! 

Doesn't look like that now!

Suppose to start raining.

Went to see the Dr. yesterday and it was a sinus infection. Gave me a shot and antibiotics.

Feeling more the thing now!

Tommy has a apt. so this is short.

No sewing yet but maybe this weekend I will get back in my sewing room to clean it up and cut up more scraps.

All I have got done since Christmas Eve.

Plans

Hi friends!

Think this is just a head cold! I do run a little fever late in the day but don't think it's the flu. 

So many around here with the flu right now. 15 died in Ga. last week with it.

Finished this book! David Baldacci's "The Sixth Man" written and published in 2011.

Seems about right for our government right now!

Seems like their are so many that think they are running our country .

My two cents !

I really enjoyed this book, most like this start out slow but gain speed as you read and this one was good.

I intend to spend a few weeks trying to get my scraps and my fabric in some kind of order.

After making all those quilts for Christmas presents it's a mess!

Hi friends!

Cut a few three inch strips, but I seem to be coming down with something, maybe just a cold. but I haven't had one in many years.

We both had the flu shot so hopping it's not that because Tommy's lungs don't need to be around the flu.

I just put the robo vac in the bathroom and closed the door. Going to let it stay in there for a while.

Vacation Over!

Hi friends!

I always buy a new ornament every year.

Usually when they are on sale after Christmas. This one was marked 10.99.

That seems a little high to me,like maybe 8 dollar to high.

I usually lose one to. This year one of my Coke Cola ones had broke in half. and I looked and looked and couldn't find the other half.

Got to get started back on this quilt. 

 I had started quilting it so shouldn't take long to finish. 

But first I saw a block that I want to try!

Haven't sewed since Christmas eve so had a nice little vacation from sewing.

Have read quite a few books!

But running out of books so sewing here I come!

Christmas With the Woods

 Hi friends!
Look what Sis got me! Got it charging!

I stuck it in to charge five minutes later walked back in there and the cord had come out!

We had our last Christmas on Sunday, all our grands love to play this!  We won this playing dirty Santa last year. Year before last now! The way my hands shake they would all tumble down.

Every one but Missy got here then! 

That flu that is going around is awful. So many who took their flu shot is getting it! They say not as bad but who knows.

Tommy and I both had it back in the 60th's so maybe we want ever have it again.
